Farenheit not open in October

^Yeah, I'm sure that if staffing were the issue, managment should see to it that the newest attraction would get the most attention. I don't think that's the case. -

^^No offense taken I think that Cedar Point is one of the most overrated parks in the world (where's the Golden Ticket award for that?) But of what very little rides I've been on with tunnels, MF was one of the best. Unless you include the turn-around at the start of Psyclone...which was the only smooth part of the ride. -

I'd have to say Millenium Force. -
^I thought about that myself, and the the conclusion I've come to myself is this. If it didn't make somewhat of a profit, Management wouldn't keep it open. Of course there's also certain factors that may play into the parks year round operation, such as permissable weather, and competitor parks (Universal, Knott's ,Disney) operating every day. Plus, Southern California tourism doesn't really stop in the summer, so that may also be a factor. I honestly do feel that closure from January-March would help maintain the park without having to worry about operating it at the same time.

2008 Cedar Fair Halloween Events

I'm really excited about my maze this year, Quarentine. 9/25/08!!!!! -
Maybe it would help if the park modified it's train rehab schedule where three trains for rides are always available in peak season...either that or they could buy "fourth" trains from the manufacturer so one is constantly in rehab. Sure it'll cost money, but there isn't a business model in existence that yields a profit with no investment.

Fact:(Revised) Not including water parks, Cedar Fair Owns and operates: California's Great America Knott's Berry Farm Valleyfair Worlds Of Fun Kings' Island Cedar Point Canada's Wonderland Dorney Park King's Dominion Carowinds Park Count:10 Six Flags owns and operates: Magic Mountain Discovery Kingdom Fiesta Texas Over Texas Over Georgia Great America Great Adventure New England America La Ronde The Great Escape Park Count:11 So ONE less park allows Cedar Fair to run circles around Six Flags operations? Fact:(revised)Um, I think we've all established that by now and at this point seems repetitive I think I heard this somewhere before... Bolliger & Mabillard wrote: Truth is, these all seem like excusing poor operations. If you don't compare Six Flags to like products, how can you expect them to compete with them?

The more and more I actually get into the operations aspect of parks, I don't think anyone can complain too much about dispatch intervals. I mean it is what it is. I don't think SFA, or any SF park for that matter cares enough about capacity to please everyone. That's just the name of the game. If the park, or any Six Flags park cared about hourly throughput, they'd be fully staffed and have six checking attendants a la Cedar Fair, or modified "self dispatching" rides a la Disney/Universal. Complaining about slow dispatches is like complaining about ride closure during inclement weather. I've never seen this sense of urgency from any Six Flags park, and I don't think America will be the one to turn it around.

Mark Shapiro has time and time again disputed his dislike for teens running rampant in parks. If this is true, I can see why it could be on the chopping block. I don't think anyone wants this park to close. I know I don't. However, if it's not going to be ran up to par, never sees major additions, fails to compete with nearby parks, and does not keep up with other SF parks, how long can anyone expect this place to stay open? Closing it if management can't or won't improve it would be considered a mercy killing.

^Well I don't want to come off as being misunderdtood. My problem isn't directly with te park and how it's ran or anything. I'm just in opposition to Mark Shapiro and his lack to take care of the smaller parks, and continued neglect thereof. It doesn't seem to me like enough corporate attention is paid to this park to rectfy it's dismal state. Keeping it open as a like chain to avoid stolen visitorship seems like a cheap shot, and those one million + deserve better than that, and the park deserves better than that. Chances are, If corporate has gotten around to changing all these other parks for the better, why are they waiting til the last minute to even start with SFA? Odds are, they'll never get around to it.
