  1. I've got to be honest, I was nodding a bit during the WCB Q&A, but I do vaguely remember being awaken from my brief slumber by that particular moment now that you mention it. I've actually gotten a little numb to some of the "same old" questions that we hear year after year. It seems the park has too. The opening with Neal and Tim doing the bit with the restraints on Revolution was classic.
  2. ^^ The Metro trains were part of a backstage tour at WCB 2010. A quick search of the park index would probably bring up some pictures. Metro is not going to run again in any form according to the answers given during the Q&A sessions of the past several years' WCB events. The reason given is that it's simply not financially feasible to try to market the ride and recover any fraction of the cost to refurb the ride as it simply wouldn't equate to significantly more guests entering the park if it were operating. As I recall, no one even bothered to ask about it this year. (unless I just missed it)
  3. My ballot has been completed and submitted. I had X2 at the top and West Coaster barely edging Pony Express for the last spot.
  4. 11/20. If not for reading TPR, it would have been far worse.
  5. After just having read another thread where someone didn't have a very good time at the Mountain recently, I thought I'd like to balance that with what I observed last weekend. I'm sorry for not mentioning it sooner, but I want to give a shout out to the lady that was sweeping the stairs on the path from Tatsu to Samurai Summit during morning ERT at WCB. This lady was dutifully going about the task of sweeping up the pine needles and various foliage debris off of that path in such a way that you could tell she actually had pride in the park, and in her job of keeping it up. While I did give her a nice smile at the time, I'm almost ashamed that I'm only now realizing that I should have asked for her name, thanked her for doing such a great job, and then gone to guest services and told them what a valuable employee they have. If anyone at the park knows who was scheduled in that area and happens to know who that lady was (I'd estimate that she was in her late forties or early fifties) please tell her manager that she stood out to me in a positive way. I found every employee that I encountered last Saturday to be friendly and welcoming, but this lady really got my attention just for how much it really seemed like she cared about doing a thorough job. I know Magic Mountain isn't perfect, but if enough people get the positive encouragement they deserve for doing a great job then maybe more of them will be inclined to give that little bit extra that really does make a noticeable difference to the park guests.
  6. Thank you Knott's and TPR for providing such a great day on Sunday. With the weather we had, this day could have easily been a ho-hum washout, but TPR and the staff at Knott's both went WAY above and beyond the call to show us an awesome time. Days like this make me proud to be a TPR member. I know the parks involved in WCB really appreciate the enthusiasts of TPR and I just want them to know how much I appreciate them as well. You guys, and gals, simply amazed me with the level of service provided. I come into these events with high expectations based on how great past events have been and I'm never disappointed. In fact, somehow, and I honestly have no idea how you manage to do it, you outdo yourselves with each new opportunity. You can count on me attending every WCB event and also visiting your park any time I'm in the area, as well as recommending your park to all my friends and family.
  7. I could go on and on about what a great time I had at the SFMM day of WCB, but most, if not all, of what I could say has already been posted. That said, THANK YOU SFMM and TPR for another epic event. My personal highlight of the event was Batman with the fog and lights. It was awesome to ride and to just look at. As cool as it was right near the ride itself, it looked great from Riddler's lift hill as well. I really do hope this becomes a permanent part of WCB and/or the FrightFest lineup. My son, Kevin, is pretty good at putting videos together. He took quite a few pictures and a lot of video during both days of WCB and he's either going to register on TPR and coastertube himself and post up his video when it's done, or I'll link it up in a future post. Thank you again Robb, Elissa, all the TPR ASSistants, and SFMM for making our day simply unforgettable.
  8. I love Gertrude, and WCB, and David and Brittney for bringing us these awesome PTRs! Keep it up forever.
  9. Ghostrider, and it was running pretty darn decent. To Knott's: Thanks for turning what could have been a rainout into an awesome day yesterday!
  10. Weather be damned! WCB rocked!
  11. Sorry for the double post, but I just got into the segment about the Big Mike in concert contest for the song titles and I wanted to put in my guess for the first song that you were belting out with such gusto: Metallica, No Leaf Clover.
  12. Hi Big Mike. I think this new format for the BMRS is awesome! I did have some trouble with the video stalling, and finally it locked up and simply wouldn't play anymore at about the 9 and a half minute mark. I'm currently downloading it to my computer to watch it in its entirety. I loved the opening, and I really thought it was a nice touch to put in the moment of silence for your dad. I lost my dad some time ago, but I still remember how it felt at the time. Stay strong big man, it will get better as more time passes. You'll always have your memories and I'm sure you have some great ones. The little "break" you took with your assistant was hilarious. I liked the interview with Brandy and I was enjoying the acting bit with her and her husband, but that was when the video locked up on me. I'd say that Brandy's husband is one lucky guy. She seems like a real sweetheart and those are some very cute kids. On top of that, she make some awesome looking cakes! I bet they're delicious as well. I've always enjoyed the family and friends portions of the road show, along with the TPR hotties segments, so seeing you combine the 2 on video is even better. I'm sure that with your amazing level of resourcefulness you'll work through the technical hurdles. Until then I'll be happy to download the full video and watch it that way. Here's to the further success of what's already one of the greatest threads in the history of TPR. I'll report back when I've watched the whole video, but I at least wanted to post to say that from what I've seen so far it looks like this will be another case of the big man stepping up his game and going the extra mile for the fans of the BMRS. See you soon!
  13. Just please don't ask if they're ever going to take the OTSRs off of Revolution. Who knows, maybe if we stop asking they might actually do it just for a laugh.
  14. I don't know if this has been posted before since I don't actually follow this thread, but even if it has, it's worth posting again. And yes, this is REAL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaqbNr46dsU
  15. Erik and Smisty, while I view this thread often and always enjoy the updates, I've never posted to say Thank you! for sharing all your oddventures. The level of detail you go into while presenting your visits via photos is much appreciated. And, happy belated birthday!
  16. We have used an all-day lock box each time that we've been to WCB and at least a few years I can remember having to go to guest services after evening ERT to claim our stuff. They had everything in a nice big sealed plastic bag and it was all very secure. I was a bit worried the first time though, since my car keys and a few other items that wouldn't be easy to replace on short notice were locked up in there. Staff was very accomodating and professional about handling the situation. It took us less than 5 minutes to retrieve our stuff. The guest services station that we were directed to was the one just outside the lock box and FlashPass sales area, sort of "kitty-corner" to the Flags store. While walking around the park, I don't carry anything that can't be securely kept in a pocket while I ride.
  17. If past years can be taken as any indication, the rides scheduled for ERT have been walk-ons, or a few trains wait, at the most, for the most popular coasters. The very front, or very back, of a train for some rides may have a slightly longer wait, but I can't recall ever waiting more than 3 trains for any ride (X2 front row). After that I settled into a middle row seat and didn't have to leave it for several cycles of the ride. I'll leave it Robb or SFMM to speculate as to whether the other coaster enthusiast event will have any significant impact. Personally, I doubt that it will.
  18. WHAAAAAAT?!?!? Terrible! I'm cancelling your WCB tickets now and you must go to Legoland instead!!!!!! I'll make it there this summer.
  19. I just sent Dan another email.
  20. 10/20 with every answer that I gave being a guess. I've never been to any Legoland parks.
  21. I absolutely agree that a smaller event would definitely be better than no event at all. I'm convinced that both parks can make it a far better visit for the attendees than what we might have on a "normal" day. You're also onto something with neither park getting a signature coaster in over a decade. I guess it can almost be justified in the case of DK, since their attendance still seems to do pretty well. As far as CGA, I've given up on trying to make sense of whatever it is they're doing. That won't stop me from enjoying what's still left of the park though, particularly Top Flight Gun Deck. Just let me know when this event is a for-sure deal and I'll sign up!
  22. I would encourage everyone to contact friends and family, that may not be members of TPR, to gauge their interest as well. I would really like to see this event happen. SFDK the past 2 years, and CGA last year, made BAB a very nice event for us. Particularly with the animal ERT at SFDK (assuming that would still be offered), this event should appeal to even those that aren't roller coaster nuts.
