  1. 8/20. Other than Mickey Mouse, Holidog, and I.B. Crow, all were guesses.
  2. I just ordered 1 more! Some plans ended up getting changed at the last moment and my wife will be joining the kids and I. We're all really looking forward to it.
  3. What's to make us believe that the new operators would do anything more than milk the park as a cash cow? I just don't get all the optimism. Until I see evidence otherwise, I will keep my expectations low so as not to be disappointed yet again.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing them add a junior woodie or a log ride, or both. Otherwise though, it is a nice little park.
  5. How about letting them build and open the new drop tower before worrying about what kind of coaster they're going to add next? I think the drop tower is going to be amazing, and is long overdue.
  6. Superman: Ultimate Flight for me. Primarily because it's likely to be the only one on the list that I'll be able to ride next season, and also because it looks like it's going to be freaking awesome.
  7. The kids and I will be doing the Universal event on Friday, and then going to Knott's Haunt the following evening. I wish I could make it to both TPR events, but that just isn't possible. I'm definitely looking forward to both nights, especially Universal.
  8. Is anyone planning on going to Haunt on Saturday the 1st? That will be the day after the TPR event at USH HHN. I had originally thought of maybe spending that day at Disney, but with so many attractions closed at the DLR, Knott's seemed like it would make more sense.
  9. You had me at Bubba Gump.
  10. My first thought as well. That dog is the only smart one in this whole story.
  11. If past history is any indicator, you can expect the next coaster removal announcement any day now. Since Psycho Mouse is the newest installation (how sad is that?) I predict it's the most likely to be removed.
  12. A Windseeker would be a "just okay" addition in my opinion. To truly try to be competitive with SFDK the park would need to add something that will generate some real excitement and buzz, not just among the hardcore enthusiasts, but also among those so often referred to as the "GP". The long-rumored woodie, or something totally out of left field, along the lines of what SFDK did with the new Premier launch coaster, would be much bigger draws. They also need to take a more serious look at some form of front-of-line passes that are priced reasonably enough that I can justify buying them. I really do try to like CGA, but the park just baffles me with the way they just seem to refuse to even try to compete with the relatively close SF park. CGA has a nice enough atmosphere, and plenty of good flats, but their lack of anything at all in the way of new coasters has kept me from buying a season pass for a few years now. On the other hand, I will be ordering passes for the entire family from SF. Considering that I'll make at least a few visits to SFMM every year, in addition to a half dozen or more trips to DK, it's just a no-brainer from a perspective of value for the money spent. Since I don't like waiting in line on busy days, I'll shell out the money for Flash Passes on several of those visits. SF will make some nice money on me, and my family will have a good time enjoying the park at our own pace without long waits. It's a win-win in my book. Considering what a bargain I get on the SF season passes, I still feel that I get good value even after spending extra money for Flash Passes on a few visits. With Cedar Fair charging considerably more for season passes that would also work for entry at Knott's, and then not offering front-of-line passes with anything short of incredibly expensive VIP packages, the perception of value for the money I'd be spending just isn't there for me. I'm not bashing the park, or the chain's policies, I'm just offering my opinion, from my perspective, in the hopes that those in park management that read these forums will consider the point of view that I have. I think me and my family represent almost exactly the demographic that they try to attract, yet the way things are presently done they're not attracting me. Outside of the TPR Bay Area event days, which I do enjoy and appreciate a great deal, I haven't visited CGA in 4 years.
  13. I got the day off request approved and am now super excited for this event! Thanks for putting this together for us. Just placed my order for 4 tickets.
  14. Maybe he was joking around and trying to break up the monotony of your wait in line?
  15. This looks like it will be a great addition to the park. Count me among those hoping it will have a separate loading station and 2 trains. Personally, I wouldn't care if they named it "Steaming pile of Gorilla poo", I'd still look forward to riding it. Can't wait for next year's BAB!
  16. Providing that I can get the time off work, I'd be in for at least 2, and possibly as many as 4.
  17. How, exactly, do brake fins get "chewed up" when the brakes are magnetic?
  18. ^ It's oddly appropriate that the wheel ran a little off center.
  19. 9/20 Euro - Mostly lucky guesses 17/20 USA & Canada - I actually did know the vast majority of these thanks to reading TPR! I think I only guessed on 2 or 3. (Probably the 3 I got wrong)
  20. With a big enough payoff to city officials, anything is possible. If a ride traveled through a tunnel on its way over a street, then I could see it being feasible. I think a bigger concern with a ride that went into areas near the main parking lot would be keeping fence jumpers out. The area around the footers and supports would have to look like a maximum security prison, which would be very unsightly.
  21. Many people use old railroad ties around their yards for retaining walls, etc. The oil and creosote soaked ties have that same smell.
  22. ^ Exactly. Taking a single rider from the normal queue is far more fair. A dedicated single riders line is one thing, but just hanging around the exit of a ride that doesn't have a dedicated single rider line and hoping to get in front of someone that waited through the regular queue is just wrong in my view. Flashpass is a separate topic.
