  1. I just emailed Dan again. What a way to start a Sunday.
  2. How'd you manage to stay there without the minimum of 2 pets?
  3. I just emailed him 5 more times. I'm crossing my fingers that the bag o crap Gods are smiling on me today.
  4. All done. Thank you for the chance to participate.
  5. Here's what I sent... Subject: Enlargement Hey Dan, Did you know that signing up for Facebook will grow your member? Try it and see!
  6. Just the idea that Robb and Elissa would be willing to go to the trouble of organizing an event that they can't even personally attend speaks volumes about their commitment to the members of TPR. With all the irons that R&E constantly have in the fire, setting up this event is just one more thing to deal with, and definitely something that they really don't owe to anyone or have to do for us. Let's show some appreciation and get some support going for this event! Everyone that I've met from TPR has been awesome and I'm sure everyone that attends will have a far better day at the parks than they would on a "normal" visit. I'd hate to see this offer to set up a great weekend at the bay area parks go by the wayside due to a lukewarm interest. I don't mean to rant or anything, but I can really see Robb's point when he expresses some disappointment in the relative lack of interest so far. Hopefully this thing will pick up some steam over the next few days.
  7. Goldrusher in the dark is definitely a must-do. The relatively tame helix is a completely different experience when done at night. All the coasters at the mountain are great at night, but for me at least, there's just something about Goldrusher that really sets it apart from the others compared to a daytime ride.
  8. Yes? Do you seriously question whether some people actually - get - the idea of this thread?
  9. You don't have to actually try putting a square peg in a round hole to know that it won't fit.
  10. I'm in for both days, and will have to take a head count closer the actual event date. I do want to be sure to catch CGA's last year of operation.
  11. No, but I do think they deserved to win. Do you think correct spelling and grammar is important?
  12. That "fresh" water looked pretty foul. They could name their little shortcut to the ocean "Malaria River".
  13. My current avatar is a picture of me that was taken at Knott's Berry Farm last year during the second day of WCB.
  14. No, but 3 lefts make a right. Is the Hokey Pokey really what it's all about?
  15. Great thread!!! Here's my little addition: What is now a designated smoking area between Matterhorn and It's a Small World at Disneyland was formerly the queue and loading dock for the long-gone Motor Boat Cruise. More recently, in the early 90s, it was named the Motor Boat Cruise to Gummi Glen. It was a mildly themed attraction related to the Gummi Bears. Other than the Gummi Bears themeing elements, which consisted of plywood cut-outs of the Gummi Bears along the boat route, little was different about the ride itself. Personally, I preferred the original version. I particularly remember the old Motor Boat Cruise since it was the last ride I went on during my first visit to Disneyland when I was about 10 years old. That was back in the days of the old ticket books and you'd always seem to have a few of the "A" and "B" tickets left to burn up at the end of a day. That was where I decided to use my last "B" ticket on the last day I was there. I spent the entire ride soaking it all up as much as I could because I knew it would probably be a long, long time before I would be able to come back again. Little did I realize then just how well I really did take it all in and remember it. I was right about it being a long time before I'd make it back. It ended up being about 15 years before I was able to come back to the park I fell in love with as a child. Now, even though it's been over 35 years since that first trip to Disneyland, I can still remember exactly what it felt like to be 10 years old when I go to that certain spot. It's just a smelly smoking area to most people now, but to me it's a connection to a much simpler and far more innocent time in my life. It's like my own personal time machine.
  16. ^ Of course, because as we all know, any empty seat on any ride is clearly empty for one reason, and one reason only. Someone fell out of it!
  17. UAE terrorism risk: A local might roll their eyes at you if you're wearing shorts and a tee shirt. Oh, the horror!
  18. LOL at the captions! Especially Freddie getting the forked tongue rim job and Dracula's "package".
  19. Me too! And, that nacho cheese better be good and hot!
  20. That V12 ride looked pretty terrible. It had about as much to do with the inside of an engine as I do with launching rockets to Uranus (nothing). It's kind of sad too, because the idea has potential if done properly.
  21. I think the structure, and the steel reinforcements, look completely awesome in a - Wile E Coyote built this out of a big box that said "ACME" on the side - sort of way. Seriously, this thing is the most unreal, cartoonish, looking coaster that I've ever seen. I mean that in a good way.
  22. 10/20 and I'm okay with that.
  23. Congrats Jak! And thanks to Big Mike for making the game even more fun to watch.
