Favorite Dark Ride

^ For myself Chuck, their suspended ride cars literally felt like the old ride vehicles they had for the original Horizons Pavilion at EPCOT. Only more spaced apart, heh heh. -
Favorite Dark Ride
Nrthwnd replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having (used to) do musical theatre for a decade or so, I always loved to find out what was "behind the scenes" of anything like theatre, or Disney attractions. And of course I would still enjoy the total experience of the attraction. Easy! That said, my current dark ride fave is still (surprise) that massive faerie one at Efteling? The dioramas are amazing and so subtle and intricate, and then there's that helix-around the forest, in the 'finale' of the attraction. . -

Souvenirs - and All Disney! So, after all of what I have shown here, there's still a few items that are strictly Tokyo Disney Resort, and the 30th Anniversary of the resort itself, which is really cool. And I bought the theme from cups to popcorn! We brought these back to the people who were kind enough to put up with Her Majesty (Stella) for nearly three weeks. She behaved, whew! Chocolates in the tin boxes, Pluto on a hamburger I am still trying to figure out, lol! I got an extra CD for one of the other tour peeps who: saw the show at TDS; loved it; wanted the CD; couldn't find it; and I did! Actually a great listen to, even if you haven't ever seen the show itself. Hope you're enjoying it, Keith! (o; The collectible cars. I used to collect Corgi Cars. This is exactly like them, by TOMY. I love them! Must - get - more. A popcorn holder AND a Popcorn Necklace! Bought at the Gag Factory Shop in ToonTown. With pops looking like Mickey and Donald! (non-edible-HA) A little "wind chime" that ended up on our Guest Room door, lol. Happy 30 TDLR! This is The Hat of The Celebration! Local Tokyo Disney visitors don't seem to go for the original ears-on-a-cap, believe it! This is The Only Magic Kingdom that does not sell the traditional 'ears'! So they put ears on headbands and these awesome HUMONGUS hats. Natch, I bought this one. And it's "official"! Behind the left ear! And then there's those Four CDs! Clockwise from upper left, all around the Fuji-Q one...complete Tokyo Disney Sea park soundtracks; 30th (and earlier) Anniversary songs; 30th Anny theme song, (sung many ways), "Happiness Is Here"; soundtrack of the (still) new Fantasmic! And just to be sure - 10. the Sindbad song IS called "The Compass of Your Heart". Not The Excess of Your Fart. -
Overture Shrek: The Musical Cast Still fun to listen to. And a DVD of the Original Broadway Cast coming out, his month!

^ Or my BIG BLUE SKY IDEA, would be that the old Cirque Building, is actually the Front Entrance Building, (the Main St?) attached to a Larger Building, behind/beside it. The street that runs behind or at the side of the bldg., can be taken care of with a secure tunnel, and that would be worked into the inside design of Marvel Town! The Japanese love to create architecture around everything and anything, lol -

How about.... They take the building that used to hold Cirque du Soleil's ZED, and turn it into a totally indoor MARVEL Park! And like Toverland, it could eventually extend outside and around the building. Whatever happens, I do hope they do something with it. It was such a beautiuful theatre with knock out in-house effects and lighting. I am so glad I got to see ZED. Here it sits, in all it's glory. -

~ More Stuff... With "a Bit of" Disney mixed in. ~ Like I said before, there were coffee mugs to get; small souvenir cups to enjoy as a 'freebie' sometimes with a food purchase; a few pins from here and there; stuff. I always try to keep in mind, when I go for souvenirs, that for the most part, i want them to be practical and not just gathering dust, like some of them (capsule things) will do anyway, lol. In any case, here's some more of what i picked up along the tour.... The coffee mugs; plastic 'glassware' (and a Real Glass shotglass); some small mini-mugs - mostly from Disney, but Thomas Train (middle) was from Fuji-Q. And the coaster on the right is from Hokkaido, which supplies a really big world of...Onions! Mostly pins, mostly (again) Disney. With a Rusutsu Resort pin (bottom left); a cute bear on Hokkaido fridge magnet (top left); and a Sea Paradise combo fridge magnet free-standing in-station photo! (whew...middle right). Figure stuff... including a bottle topper with Daisy and Donald holding my straw; a Special Edition Vinylmation Mickey (of three I remember); small figs from PoTC; put-together Winnie! On-ride/attraction Photos. And a few theme park music CDs. 4 are Disney, but the one in the middle is from Fuji-Q! Mainly a dance cd, but the cover's got coaster track on it, there's the Fuji-Q Logo on it...and it's called JETCOASTER! And it's pretty good to listen to, actually. -
100 Best Roller Coasters

25 But like Bob posted, most of them are in the US and I haven't been to too many of those parks, listed. The overseas parks however - nailed most of those, lol. -

~ Capsule Machine Stuff! ~ So most of us all know there is a LOT of capsule machines in Japan. You really can't avoid them. In some bathrooms and even mall shops. And of course, in a number of the parks we visited. I got myself another "meat animal" at Cosmoworld - sadly, a sheep. Want to get that cow, heh heh. Several of us picked up this neat flashlight-like thing that projected a typical Japanese Horror image on the wall. Very cool. And I picked a couple of the "food things", the details of which were equally as amazing as the plastic foods, restaurants buy for their front display case. And cheaper too! Here's what i got... What a capsule machine in Japan looks like - this was The One with Meat Cow in it! And when most of us found It.... Everybody tried to get The Meat Cow! Don't know how many actually did score one... So here's what I picked up through the tour. And I didn't open them till I got back home - except for a couple, lol. Oh, and let's play "Find the Hidden Mickey". After I opened them all up. Meat Sheep! And an angry mushroom on the left. A really detailed anime' figure on the right. What a mess, huh? And WHERE do I put all of them??? (Some of them are up here beside me on my cork message board. Not showing. Way too messy, heh.) And some of them ended up on my computer's power tower. BFFs, lol. So....Meat Sheep, meet Meat Rooster/Chicken. The really cool projection light we got at the Rusutsu Park entrance bldg. And mine projects... This. Neat, huh? (More to come....) -

~ The Souvenirs Haul ~ (Part 1...) Never let it be said that I try to "hold back" when it comes to finding and buying souvenir items in a TPR Tour. Some times I actually don't find much to buy (true!), and then there's those other times..... The majority of all this stuff is (naturally) from the Tokyo Disney Resort, but there are some things I got here and there, from the Sapporo parks... and Fuji-Q. The "meat cow capsule machine" was found again at Cosmoworld. And I actually got a non-DIsney music CD from Fuji-Q, although I would call it a more dance music type CD. But the park's logo was on it, and that was good enough for me, LOL! Coffee mugs, mini-mugs, a few pins, and other stuff I knew I couldn't live without, of course. Like a (cat) hair remover roller with Chandu on it, from Sindbad's Voyages. Or a nice washcloth from Fuji-Q with Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel on it - with the Fuji-Q logo right there on the bottom of it! Lots of stuff. So, here we go.... For starters I got this lovely foldable paper 'globe' gift from Kathryn and Michael (and Maria) from Australia. (Kathryn and I sort of trade waterglobes back and forth, lol.) And a neat little wind up mailman, who looks like is giving me the finger! We'll get that fixed by the end of this.... Here's the mess of it all, mostly Tokyo Disney by all the bags. Where all the leftover TPR goody bag snacks (and others bought along the way) go. It's all gone, now. There's the awesome Japan Rail Pass up there; a great cooling towel we got in our TPR Goodies Backpacks; one of the two (I threw the other away) 'rain coats' we didn't need at TDS, eventually. Followed by... Park maps! Fans. Very useful, while we were there. T-shirts, including one from the Sapporo Bier Garten (all you can eat and drink for nearly two hours - awesome!). I love these food erasers! And much cheaper than the plastic foods one can buy for mucho $$$. I added them to the three cards I bought before, in 2011. Here's the face cloth from Fuji-Q. The only one I could find with the park's logo on it. Lots here: most interesting (to me) was the themed bottle of Coke in it's own paper container; the Chandu hair removal roller - his tail is the handle, heh; candies and candy holders from Pooh; coffee packets from Disney; and a neat little Eye Scream trinket box Lauren gave me at one of the Sapporo parks - Thanks Lauren! Little stuffed characters, mostly from Disney, with the exception of one freeked out looking cat, from Rusutsu Resort on the left. More to come... -

^ I went on Space Mountain in 2002. 2007. 2008... and nothing seemed to change from the all-over ride experience - it was very rough. But, I would still ride it again - and hopefully, with the adjustments as needed, lol. -
And another awesome Broadway score... "Live in Livng Color" Aaron Tveit and the Broadway company of "Catch Me if You Can" (BTW - Broadway has some really awesome musical styles, that you need to try out and enjoy choosing from...) Awesome score by the guys who scored HAIRSPRAY!
