A number of great Danish parks near Tivoli, in Denmark. And Sweden itself, has awesome parks! But only five days, huh? Hmmm. Well... What Elissa said.

Poor Meep. The actor who played Meep, one of the sweet freaks in American Horror Story's latest season (Freak Show), lost his life after an accident with a car while crossing a street. Sweet character. Not enough screen time, as his demise came 'early' in the series. RIP Ben Woolf Gone too soon. )o:

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just found a few retro photos, off the PNE's BLOG. They show in the first shot, the original Mad Mouse that used to arrive every year without fail, for our annual fair, The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE, last two weeks of August). The second and third shot show the eventually redesigned MONSTER MOUSE, that added track and more thrills, during the PNE. These were probably taken in the early 1960s. And... I do not like AT ALL the "new versions" of this classic ride, and wish somebody would remake the original, with up-to-date technology, etc. IMhO this original version is way more thrilling, than what I am riding nowadays. And while I'm at it, what about the ZIPPER too? That could use a renovation, into something totally awesome! The original mad Mouse layout - with a go kart track in back, at the PNE. The Monster Mouse, which in this shot, doesn't really show that much of it... ...Until you look to the right of this overview shot of it. It was a great "add-on" to an old favourite. -

It looks so barren on the hills behind all this awesomeness. I do not know Idaho that well, but do the hills get really green at all during spring and/or summer? Just asking, thanks. -

Well let's remember, this was the time period during the Chinese New Years' celebrations, etc. So Chinese locals had their (vacation?) time off, and decided to spend it at Tokyo Disney and Ocean Park. So - avoid the days around any Chinese New Year, is what I would advise, in advance, at this time. -

Then there is the "Pre-show Way" that we always traveled through, in the Space Fantasy attraction in Universal Japan. But - if you had the 'FastPasses' (Thanks again Elissa, Robb) or were a Single Rider, you went through a queue that basically bypassed all the interactive stuff Standby Line did, prior to the boarding station. But they kept openings in actual parts of the queue design so you could 'peek' and see what everybody else was enjoying doing. But not you. Hmmmm. It actually made me get back into a Standby Line, so I could do all that silly stuff again, lol! And then again, the entire attraction was indoors, which I think does help eliminate seeing the coaster tracks in a visual way, depending how they are themed indoors, etc. With lighting. There are exceptions. But with actual coasters involved, it's sometimes tough to figure out. -

Surprise! I have ridden everything on your list, so.... Silver Star - Good, but doesn't stand out that much from others like it. Blue Fire - Zippy, seats were comfy, a great ride. Katun - I loved the sprawling layout of it. Worth re-rides, for me. Ispeed - Loved it! Even got the button, lol! Launch coasters are really exciting to me, and this one was one of the best I had ridden. Mammut - The hype for this was more than the ride turned out to be. Not very exciting. and one I thought was rather 'meh.' G'sengte Sau - Much fun. Enjoyed the layout and the bunny hops at the end. Troy - I really enjoyed this woodie, so much so, I re-rode it nearly ten times! Desert race - It was pouring the day I/we rode it. I enjoyed it for what it was. Colossos - Again, it was raining and it was like wet bullets hitting our forehead, but the ride was good and fast. Speed - My First Eurofighter, and I loved it! Did 14 re-rides on it, before a small headache set in, lol. Have loved this type of coaster from then on. Megafobia - It was totally rough on me the first time, and I never rode it again. Not even when TPR returned, a few years later. Tonnerre de Zeus - I enjoyed it, but didn't go back for a re-ride. I thought it had seen better days, and it was very rough on me. Goudurix - Um, not sure about this, although everybody else is wanting it's demolition. I enjoyed the two times I rode it, without much pain. Lucky timing, I guess. Hope this helps, if only a bit. -

Am BUMPing this, to ask for anybody out there, who can post that a-doooooor-able video of two red pandas playing in the snow? It was taken at the Cincinnati Zoo, recently. Thousands already seen it/them. And Elissa is due for her annual EVIL RED PANDA Scare in the new year. Yes, I'm looking at You, Ms. Elissa. Grrr... (TPR 2112 China Tour)

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

Just want to say to Playland, I love the cycle that AtmosFEAR goes through, as of last season. The Final DROP down to around 20 feet above ground, is awesome! Almost a free fall while circling above. I honestly thought we were going to crash, it was so swift and fast. Please do it again this season? Thanks in advance. Last August, PNE shot. Great flat ride. Good ride cycle with great ending! Awesome! It totally looks like ours in Vancouver (AtmosFEAR) as well as the same ride cycle. Although ours still spins down, to about 20 feet above the base/foundation. Minor thing, tho. Congrats to SFMexico! Ole' indeed!
