I completely agree. I can't see people unwilling to ride V2 being willing to ride S:UF. The whole V2 effect thing makes me LOL. Without fail, every time I go to SFDK I see at least one person look up at V2 and say, "No way are you getting me on that." It's also hilarious because tons of GP are still confused by it. I'll overhear people looking at it all confused like, "Is that a coaster? How does it not go flying off the end?" Can't wait to hear people's reactions to Superman!

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think that's so weird. I still refer to water slides by their color. I totally get why GP would do the same with coasters. It's hard to remember the names if you don't know anything about a park before going there. Us... we know tons of stuff about every coaster months and years before we even ride it. Now if I saw an enthusiast or a ride op calling the coasters by color... that's a different story. -

Someone who doesn't know about your allergy pranks you into eating something you are fatally allergic to. What's worse than forgetting your passwords to every website, cell phone, computer, PIN number, and retrieval questions? -
Not sure if this is what you meant but at my last SFDK trip I saw some ride ops kick out a girl with a leg cast right after they let her up the elevator and told her it was okay to ride. Have you ever waited 30 minutes or more in line for a coaster having technical difficulties?

That log flume sounded totally rad. Too bad it didn’t happen. Last year at BAB during the Q&A session they hinted about some plans for the area. It was very vague and it sounded like it might be a while before we see anything happen. I was just glad to hear there was some talk. I’m still hoping that area might be used for an awesome custom coaster. You never know. The animals aren’t going anywhere any time soon and SFDK could totally capitalize on combining rides and animal exhibits as Seaworld has. Actually, I’d be surprised if they didn’t. Unlikely, but not impossible! I was really happy to hear during Q&A that the height restriction could be negotiated. However, it sounded like a complicated and expensive process and SFDK would need a good reason for wanting to go through it. I’ve found that Medusa gets really short lines toward the last hour or two of operation, regardless of how busy it was during the day. Maybe this coaster will fare similarly?

No, not planning to. Will you ride a coaster with epic airtime this summer?

Wow! The air on that drop looks INSANE!! I hope to ride it someday! Great photo, too!! -
Weird because I always thought they were kinda random. I always forget they even exist and I've met other people who didn't know about them, but there always seems to be people in line. BTW, at BAB I think they said the height restriction closer to the lake was around 50', so technically they could build something decent while keeping with that, I just don't think they will for the reasons Double0Kevin stated. That sounds so cool! Why was the log flume cancelled? Wow 2001 was well before the 3D theater even closed. I'm not good with dates, but wasn't Dinosphere still playing at that time? I'm not picking up on the yellow loop allusion. Which coaster? So you're saying there are no plans for the hill, or none you can divulge?

No, not even close. Have you ever found a hidden Mickey?

They can't really have any coasters back there because of the height restriction. They have Tava's, the butterflies, and the two weird flat rides Monkey Business and Thrilla Gorilla. It works alright as an area to draw kids and families and I could see them adding or moving a family ride back there, but not a thrill ride. BTW... the butterflies are the most underrated attraction at SFDK. I think most people who go to the park probably don't know the butterflies are even there, but it's a really cool exhibit. I always end up having brightly colored clothing that trick them into thinking I'm a flower. If by "existed" you mean it was a usable parking lot, then yes. Hence our favorite parking lot coaster was born later! They probably should, but probably won't.

The "Say Something Random" Thread

Pardon my ignorance... but what is all this pony stuff about? Is this a TV show? -
I've never thought about it really seriously, but just checked whatever was listed on Coaster Counter that I've ridden. I've been wanting to update my Excel list and now would be a great time to do it and really think about what I want to count and what I don't. With the twin track thing... if you're serious enough to get off of Rolling Thunder at SFGAdv and then get back on it right after just to ride the other side, I think you deserve to count it as two. Why else would you ride it twice in a row? But srsly... I liked Robb's comment: I've been worrying about a few things I counted that I wasn't sure if I should count... but why should I worry? If I'm more conservative about my count, then when I get my 100th coaster (hopefully soon!) and other landmark numbers, I can feel secure that it actually was my 100th coaster, and not my 80th that I pumped up into being my 100th. For me, it's the whole numbers or "landmark numbers" that are more important. When someone asks, I just say, "More than 80," not, "83.5 exactly" or whatever. After I get 100, I'll probably just say "more than 100" until I reach another landmark, and so on. Plus, I don't want to sound like too much of a nerd when talking to friends and acquaintances! I would like to secure a hot date sometime in this decade. Lastly, when you tell someone your number, who's really going to argue with you? "Excuse me, I heard you say you rode 349 coasters, but I believe you only rode 328." IMO, the whole credit counting thing is more for your own personal benefit to celebrate your accomplishments (and travel experiences!).

Yes; too many CHP + nothing important to do + bored = pulling people over for the smallest things! Have you ever been evacuated from a building?

No. Have you ever gotten 3 or less questions wrong on one of Andy Shine's quizzes?

Sounds super awesome! It's still a little confusing for me but as the contest gets underway, I'll understand it better. Only concern for me... I am completely clueless when it comes to professional sports. Total GP. I might know some people who are not sports GP, so when you post the players and teams, I can just ask them for advice. As for finding the ducky in the park... don't neglect us West Coast people! If you hide one in a park within driving distance (and I'm used to long trips in the car) I'll do my best to be there and do some IRL ducky hunting! I'm totally excited for this to get underway!

Yes. Have you ever written a story that had a scene in an amusement park or on a coaster?

Wow! Not sure why I never noticed this thread before, it's great! Saw the boob pictures on posted on TPR Facebook the other day... priceless. That Hurler picture is hilarious too! When I have more time I'll go through the rest of this thread. Great job! -

Magic Mountain accepts the coaster crown, then never adds any coaster (including planned 2013 coaster) until CP announces another addition. What's worse than having no vacation days from work for the rest of your life?
