  1. That's awesome that they wrote an article about you, Big Mike! You truly are a celebrity... making it on TV and the news
  2. No. Have you ever chickened out of a Halloween maze?
  3. I love that POV Robb! All the different angles are super cool! And I love seeing everyone's different reactions.
  4. That's awesome about the operations. I was really impressed on opening day with it, and I'm very happy to hear that they're still keeping the pace up. Huh? Not sure what you were meaning to say there.
  5. This sounds great! And I guess Six Flags was one step ahead of us again with having the capacity issues taken care of by pristine operations. Great job! I'll echo what everyone else has already said: this looks terrifyingly awesome and I hope I get a chance to ride it synced with Superman because that would be rad. One question: has anyone been on Superman yet when it's synced up with Lex Luther? If so, was the experience on Superman better or unchanged?
  6. As far as coasters are concerned, given this park's past record, come back in another decade or two and we can have that discussion. Of course by then they will have removed 3 coasters. I think it will depend a lot on how this coaster does. If the reception is astronomically positive, I can't imagine Cedar Fair not wanting to follow it up with something.
  7. LOL, it's just a little one: RCDB doesn't have an opening date, but it was at least early 90s. We knew it as Funderwoods. If I remember correctly, it was separate from the zoo; just to the left and not too big. Big Mike is visiting there this weekend, I can't wait to see his TR of it. Oohhh memories!
  8. ^That image is awesome though. You can really see how much air you can get on this thing! Totally rad... this slide looks INSANE!!
  9. It's about time. Just kidding, have a great time! That's nothing. I'm going down for my first ride on S:UF Sunday. Having two kids under the age of 2 makes getting out of the house for roller coasters a bit more of a challenge. If anyone will be there Sunday and wants to meet up, let me know. Oh I know, I was just teasing him because I know him. The coaster has been open exactly one week today! Speaking of two-year-olds....yesterday I went through some photo albums trying to find proof of me getting the Micke Grove Zoo credit (I found it!) but I also found possibly the earliest photos of me at Marine World. I was two years old (almost three, but not quite) and it was two years to the day before my sister would be born. So I was in love with Marine World two years before I'd set eyes on my sister.... LMAO Whenever I have some spare time I want to upload some of the photos I found of the old Dinosaur exhibit. Proof that it was much better than Dinosaurs Alive.... It had dino gore!
  10. Yes. Have you been to a water park this year?
  11. Wish you have more of I-305 in your TR, but I love this photo and am saving it: I want to ride this thing so bad.
  12. No. Do you like cats?
  13. I completely agree! Which is why I'm glad I skipped on the reviews before I went... I was expecting it to be a decent coaster but I did not expect such insane airtime from that thing. I was literally in ecstatic shock when I got off the first time. It's about time. Just kidding, have a great time!
  14. So I liked to say that I was one of the unicorns of TPR... i.e. straight, single, female... just not that many of us Well now there's one less unicorn! I was at SFDK for the season pass preview for S:UF as a single rider, hanging out with other single rider enthusiasts (mostly ACErs), and talking about TPR. I think it may have been during the breakdown when I was standing on the stairs and noticed someone with a 2012 WCB shirt wayyyy in the back and said, "Oh look, there's a TPR member!" Next time I went through, I passed right by the same guy and was like, "Yeah! Go TPR!!!" and high-fived him. In my head I was like, "DAMN, this guy is cute... he's probably gay." Shortly after, I was left a single rider again. By the time I got to the station, I still didn't have a buddy so I figured I'd just be riding alone. Next thing I know, I turn around and the TPR guy (rolercstrluvr) is standing right behind me smiling ear to ear. I was so happy to hang out with him and ride the coaster... we kept marathoning it until noon. Then, we decided to hang out together the rest of the day. We did many of the animal exhibits and goofed off and had fun. We both felt an instant connection and just decided to make it FBO.... so now we also have to make it TPRO. We like to describe our feelings like this: If most people's relationships are like a wacky worm, our relationship is like this: Which we hope to ride together some day.
  15. When I read your post, all that I could see was this. It's something I thought I would never see. hahahaha OMG! Nooooo. Neither the cute kid nor his father was an ACEr. OMG!!! You guys are making me LOL so much right now! TPR + ACEr? That would be blasphemous!!
  16. Weirdest thing I've heard from friends of mine: "I went to Magic Mountain and all I rode was the carousel" "I went to Magic Mountain and all I rode was the swings" My reaction: I don't understand why someone would pay to go to a park that is 90% coasters if they don't like coasters....
  17. Griffon! I-305 or Bizarro (SFNE)?
  18. I already wrote an entire novel! Didn't want so much info that nobody would read it. Don't feel bad, she never acknowledges me either. OMG hahaha this actually made me laugh! I didn't think either of you wanted me to mention it, because some people are private like that. And neither of you mentioned me until now either. Okay non-abridged TR since you asked for it: As a single rider, I got paired with other single riders but it wasn't long before I realized most of the single riders were enthusiasts. I hung out and chatted with this cool ACEr guy for a while (possibly the one you're talking about wolverinechris) and another ACEr guy later. I plugged TPR wherever possible. There was this one dad with his young new enthusiast son who was SO CUTE. The little boy was all excited and knew all the stats and stuff... I mentioned TPR and they seemed interested. Every time one of my single rider buddies would leave, another would join. I was like whoring all the single riders. I saw a few people with TPR shirts and was like, "YAY TPR!" and high-fived them. One of those was rolercstrluvr. I found myself alone again, and I was in the station when I turn around and rolercstrluvr was right behind me! I guess they announced to the queue that they needed a single rider, and he was in the very back and volunteered to come through. Then after we rode several more times, we hung out the rest of the day and did a lot of the animal exhibits to detox from my 18 rides and his 8 rides on Superman. Later we waited 2 more hours to get one more ride on Superman. A different friend of mine said the line was only an hour wait at noon... either way that's really not too bad for opening day. We did Medusa later too and I feel like they had less trims and the ride was much more extreme, but maybe my head was still rattled from Superman? I'd post pictures, but rolercstrluvr still has my camera. Maybe he can post the pictures for me?? BTW, rolercstrluvr and I think we should do a butterfly ERT session. The butterflies are so awesome but oft ignored. Or maybe a TPR-takeover of the shark experience? And I'll leave you with the quote of the day: "This coaster is propelled by LSMs... Linear Synchronic... MAGIC!!!"
  19. Don't forget A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo! The latter is probably my favorite Pixar movie. I recently watched a documentary on Pixar and one of the producers/animators (can't remember which) said Marine World's shark exhibit semi inspired him to create Finding Nemo. Awesome.
  20. You’d think so, but I was surprised the difference one row made on this ride. Row 5 was just okay but row 6 was like ZOMG!!! Row 4 was nice because it was the best of both worlds... it had more of the intense positive Gs, and it has a better view than any row aside form row 1. I agree with Kevin that row 1 had the best airtime coming from the first vertical twist to the barrel roll, but I thought the transition from the cliffhanger into the non-inverting loop from row 6 was much more intense because of how quickly it went from the awesome ejector to the crushing positive Gs. Think of it this way: the two portions of the ride that had the most intense feelings were the transitions from the vertical to horizontal track and vice versa. The closer to the front, the more intense the first transition is; the closer to the back, the more intense the 2nd transition and the non-inverting loop... but you lose some of the view.
  21. Yesterday: CGA and then Gilroy! 3 new credits for me. Last one was the little snake coaster at Gilroy Gardens. There was this cute little girl who was like, "You gotta raise you hands like this! And scream really loud! I screamed so loud last time!"
  22. A random kid at SFDK was describing a "water coaster" he thought looked cool, but as the conversation progressed I realized his "water coaster" was actually just a coaster with a splashdown. This is now a water coaster.
  23. Pepsi Coffee or tea?
  24. Saturday I went to the season pass preview and I'm glad I took the no spoilers route because the coaster completely blew me away! The first time off I almost keeled over at the exit... SOOO INTENSEE!!! I rode 19 times total: 18 in the morning and one in the afternoon with a two-hour wait. The lines were surprisingly very short for the season pass preview, and actually got shorter until about 8:30 am when the ride first broke down for about 30 minutes. After that the lines were a little longer, but nothing worse than 15 or 20 minutes. They assign rows, and you can't switch. The employee told us she was being more lenient for the pass holders but once the coaster is open, you don’t get to choose which row you want. My lap count per row: row 1: two times; row 2: once; row 3: five times; row 4: four times; row 5: twice; row 6: five times. I think the best rows are row 1, 3, 4, and 6. My personal favorite: ROW 6!!! It is by far the most extreme. Coming out of the barrel roll into the vertical plunge there's an INTENSE thrust of ejector followed by some very strong positive Gs in the loop. Basically you're thrust upward just before being shoved downward... really insane feeling. That being said... they assign rows in the station, and you can't switch. The employee told us she was being more lenient for the pass holders but once the coaster is open, you can’t choose your row. I was surprised how quickly they dispatched this thing. The two hour wait seemed to be more because of technical difficulties rather than bad capacity. When the coaster didn’t have any issues, the line moved fairly quickly. Conclusion: SFDK has a GEM on their hands here. It really is a remarkable coaster and easily the best in Northern California!
