Six Flags Surveys Meal Options
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to CardCraze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't see why it matters if we can get food unlimited times in the day. People don't need that much food and jacking up the price to include unlimited food will just prompt people to get more food that they don't need and won't finish, and it will just be a waste. However, I would be interested if it included unlimited drinks. 8-12 hours at a park becomes really thirsty work. Honestly, food and drinks often cost more for my family than our ticket into the park. Sure the park food is crappy, but it's convenient especially when we're sore and tired. One huge thing I love about our TPR trips is that lunch is included in the price so I really only need to worry about dinner/snacks when figuring the additional costs of the trip. If I was getting a season pass and knew I'd visit more than twice, I'd definitely be interested in a meal pass. I think it would be beneficial for Six Flags to make some kind of meal pass, but I think they're going about it the wrong way. This is what I think would be best: --All season --1 or two meals a day, a side with each meal, and one dessert for the day --Unlimited drinks (I'd prefer not having this mean a promotional cup that I'd have to lug around all day, but it'd be better than no unlimited drinks) --Meals can be redeemed at any time of the day --Price $40-$60 -
Remember the whale from Free Willy? His name was Keiko and if I remember correctly he was captive-born. After the movie came out, there was this HUGE movement to free him. They gradually moved him to an ocean holding pen and taught him to fish and then released him to the wild. After spending probably millions of dollars to "untrain" this whale to go back into the wild, they set him free into the ocean and he wouldn't leave. He hung around the fishing harbor and let the fishermen pet him and feed him until he died within a year, I think from starvation. It was a horrible fail. However, there have been wild whales that beached or got injured in some way that Seaworld nursed back to health and released without a hitch. I remember one at San Diego Seaworld named JJ and she was a young gray whale. I don't understand if they're trying to get the whales freed, prevent the parks from obtaining any new wild orcas (which I think is illegal now anyway) or just trying to get money from Seaworld. It just sounds so stupid.

^While I don't agree with capturing wild whales/dolphins for captivity, wouldn't that be better than killing the dolphins? I watched a documentary on dolphin killings once and I remember that they normally butcher the dolphins for blubber and meat. EDIT: Just saw the death-rate chart. While it's true that captive animals have shorter life spans than those in the wild, I'm wary of those numbers. They are based on a very small data pool and there have been incongruences. How would you explain the dolphin at SFDK that lived longer than dolphins in the wild? I was a killer whale enthusiast long before I was a coaster enthusiast (the former sparked the latter eventually) and this debate always unnerved me. If it weren't for captive whales, I never would have cared about whales and (so far) I would have never seen a real live whale. If all whale captivity ceased, the only people that would be able to enjoy them are the rich, who can afford to take extravagant trips, or get the right degrees to actually go study them. The average person would never get a chance to appreciate the beautiful animals. However, I always felt sad when I compared the lives of captive whales to free whales. It's a Catch 22.

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
This wasn't on the list, but I've been looking forward to getting a replacement phone (that we qualify for every 2 years) and when I FINALLY got my new phone it was a worse model than the one I had before and it's already having problems. When was the last time you read a novel that's considered a great work of literature? -
General Public...a myth?
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to paulm12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^LMAO I am the same way! I went to a Giants game once and everyone was super excited, but I just wanted to get it over with because it was cold and we were going to SFDK the next day. I'm even worse with football. I watched the entire Superbowl for the first time ever this year. Every time a team did something, I'd have to ask, "Was that a good thing that happened?" -

^Thanks! And that would be horrible... A family member throws out an envelope without realizing that it contains a substantial amount of cash/checks that you've been saving for a TPR trip. What's worse than running out of gas miles from a gas station? -

abrokenspacebar What's worse than me turning 21 next week? -
I saw a horror movie last night that I really enjoyed... it really creeped me out and that usually doesn't happen to me. It was called "In the Mouth of Madness" and I guess it's a Carpenter film. I chose it (over "Drag Me to Hell", actually) because I've never heard of it and Sam Neill was in it, and I love "Event Horizon"! Has anyone else seen this movie?

General Public...a myth?
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to paulm12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think of the GP just as the term describes: "General Public". It's kind of a comparative analysis... there are experts in any industry and there are GPs in any industry. But GP doesn't have to equal stupid. The ones described in the "Weirdest Things the GP Have Said" are some of the more ignorant ones, but I don't think we're suggesting that most GPs are stupid, reckless, ignorant, or unthoughtful. We talk about the ones who are because there's more to say about them then about the ones who come to the park and follow all the rules. All of us were GPs at some point, and depending on your definition of GP, some of us still are. The term doesn't have to be a bad thing. -
TV Dinners. I eat them all the time for lunch. Halloween night: go trick or treating or stay home and give out candy?

Probably this week sometime. Seems to happen a lot here. When was the last time you started watching a movie and then left or turned it off before the end? -
Favorite Theme Park Game
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to wplover's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What's Fascination? I looked at that Playland link but I still don't understand what it is. I never rarely games at amusement parks but I always like to stop and watch the people doing the 3-point basketball games. I've never tried the flipping ladder game but if I figured out a method I thought would work, I'd try it. It intrigues me. Has anyone ever been successful at this game/know someone who has? Also, I wouldn't call this a theme park game since it can be found at lots of arcades, but if I see a DDR (a true one, not one of the knock-offs) I almost always play it. There's a particular version of it that I always stop to play if at all possible. I want to say it's DDR Max 2 but I'm not 100% sure that's the same one. I know it when I see it though. -

Never that I remember, but there have been a few times recently that I've laughed so hard I started crying. One time I think was last week during my improv drama group. It was supposed to be a serious scene but everyone kept accidentally saying and doing the funniest things and making the rest of us laugh. When was the last time you got a new pet? -
Yes. Have you watched any horror movies in the last week?

They should do one over by the old iwerks theater. That way, when people get scared, they'll fall down the stairs. But in all honesty, the only two places I could really think of having them would be Oasis plaza (but past Cobra) and over by V2/Roar/Superman. Even then, they probably wouldn't be very much in depth.

Yes, since this morning I went to class, then wrote 1.5 pages for another class in 20 minutes, then went to that class, then tutoring, went home for lunch, then tutored again, then went to the Chamber of Commerce where I am at now. Do you own your own vehicle?

^I think that's probably a really big factor in it. Has anyone heard anything about Holiday in the Park yet? Oh man, I totally remember Dinosphere when it came out. I thought it was the coolest thing! Does anyone have photos of those dinosaurs that were in the queue. Or even better, does anyone have photos of the ones from the early Marine World Africa USA days? I think we have a few photos somewhere but not as many as I'd like. Maybe one of these days I'll upload them.

What song are you listening to?

Oh, Sleeper "Means To Believe" on youtube, although it went on to load the next song I queued as I was typing this. -

There are small things that I regret on a regular basis (like spending too much time online instead of doing work) but the last major thing was last year. When was the last time you pulled an all-nighter? -
I was a little unclear with my question but I think you answered it perfectly for me. Thanks everyone! I appreciate your help!

Haunted Mansion. Would you rather be an extra in several famous movies, or have a bit role in an indie film?
-
Yes. Did you go out this past Friday?

McDonalds. They seem more like an annoying monopolistic company than BK. Plus there's nothing I like to eat there. Would you rather win a brand-new car worth $20,000 or win $17,000 cash?
