I'd like to see it redone on the order of Carowinds' thunder road.

A windseeker would make for a fairly decent ride for WOF & perhaps MIA or VF as well since CF seems to like this particular ride & it has gone over rather well with the crowds.

Thankfully with the reworking of the path system for DA Grizzly's queue has been shortened dramatically & the whole area in general looks better than it has in a while....Rebel yell on the otherhand is still the same old hike into & out of the station & I so wish the park would somehow fix this.

The closest example is Disney. There are merge points before the turnstiles into the rides. It varies, Raptor is halfway up the stairs, Millie is inside the station, TTD gets their own train, etc. It really just depends on the station layout. No one gets 'rows' and no one gets to enter through the exit. With the way KD does it some of the coasters simply used the disable guest entrance alongside the main queue....windseeker has it's own seperate FL entrance though.

Sounds like this much needed project is a go for the park. Last time I rode KD's eagles the ride kinda left me a bit lightheaded & kinda off balance for a while,these are suprisingly intense little rides if you know the tips & tricks to really get airborne although I have yet to figure out how to bounce the birds myself.

I don't know why they don't just replace this mouse with a Mack mouse along the lines of the KD & Carowinds models?Obviously the Mack mice havn't had problems with collisions resulting in such horrid minimalist capacity operations as this.

Very interesting to see but why haul a victim all the way up to the top of a structure only to repel him down when it would be easier (and safer) to go out by ground in this scenario?

So Dark Knight, Little Dipper, Rajun Cajun and Superman: Ultimate Flight don't count? The ride looks AMAZING!!! Yeah,I was saying the same thing....that's far more than a certain park in Md. got within that same timespan. I'm hoping that future wingrider installations will feature more varied elements than what we've seen out of this first batch so far,this particular layout just doesn't look too thrilling to me as IMO it relies too heavily on inline rolls but of course that's just my .002 & YMMV.

Did I hear that correctly? Um I don't think so as that little park in MD. was the one to go 11 years without a coaster till now.Hate to say this but the wingriders thus far look a little lackluster in terms of the typeof inversions offered,much like the DM'swhich only offer immelman's as their main element.

Besides the structural problems & mishaps that have occurred with it the ride is just plain boring,seems paramount wasn't known for adding quality woodies to their parks as the hurler twins are just as bad from a layout perspective & perhaps would've been better off adding something of the steel variety on that spot to begin with instead. If hurler's layout is as bad as it is I can't begin to suspect that thunder run (the ride it was based on)was any good.

KD's windseeker was running this weekend as far as I know.

yeah I'm with ya, I don't see what the complaints are about, but go read the comments on CP's Facebook page on the announcement of Fast Lane, or find the Fast Lane announcement in the Kings Island thread on here and you'll find plenty of people who's opinion differs from your and mine. Well it would help if it actually merged with the line outside the station rather than simply being an alternate queue leading to the station.When most people think of a line for a ride in their mind the actual "line" ends once you reach the station so by that definition the FL line is just that...an alternate line to bypass the regular line leading into the station as opposed to merging with the already existing line outside the station & that's what people get annoyed with.

^Looked on the BGW site & can't believe that it's $66.99 per person this year!! Man is that steep but I hope I can get the discounts at local food lion stores in the DC metro area as that'll bring the price down to around $55.00 instead should we happen to visit the park as planned on june 1st.

Rode it once in 97 & didn't find it to be too bad but it's BBW that I really mourn the loss of far more.

My bad LOL!! I hardly pay attention to the schedules on the back of the maps these days.

From what I've seen at KD of the fastlane wristbands they appear to be similar to those you get for bottomless refills on souvenir bottles,which are simply paper bands that you'd have to cut to remove so how can you swap them between users?

Might be making a trip down to BGW in early june(not 100% certain yet) & would like to know what the admission costs are this year & if there are any discounts available? Havn't been to the park since way back in 97 so I havn't gotten a chance to ride any of the B&M's there but of course mourn the loss of the two Arrow's that have since been removed especially BBW.

Crowds usually get bigger by mid day on Saturdays. I tell most people to hit Volcano first Flight of fear 2nd. Those two coasters have a low cycle time for some reason. From there it is pretty much a gamble. You may get very lucky and most people will be hitting Busch Gardens that weekend since Verbolten will be opening on the 18th. if you want to ride everything 2 times I would get to I305 after Volcano and Flight of fear it is in the same area and can get crowded. But I have yet seen a line over 10 minutes on it. Windseeker is on the other side of the park . You also got fast lane on 15 of the rides at the park so there would be a option as well.. As far as the Crowds it can get a little rough mid afternoons but to me they not as bad as some say unless it is a holiday weekend. Hope you enjoy your first time at King's Dominion and your entire trip to The US ...... The waterpark should be open by then so that can help disperse the crowds making wait times shorter for some rides in the park.

Might've been us,I was wearing my black I305 shirt & riding in the left side of the train.

^Were you by any chance riding Grizzly close to closing time in yellow train?We practically had the train to ourselves with only a couple other guys in the back while we were up front.I think the rain certainly helped to make the woodies run faster & a bit smoother than usual.

Nope,it's not for CF,that Xworks label is somethig that the plant uses to keep us enthusiasts from figuring out where the ride is going. In the past the shipping label would include the actual customer name but we were able to sneak onto the property,get a pic of it & leak the info before the parks announced the ride so the parks have since asked the plant to stop using the actual customer name on the shipping labels.

^Well at least she went out today & bought a new camera but she definitely won't be bringing it to the park again. Windseeker lived up to it's name last night as it was shaking a godd bit up there,not to mention rather chilly spinning 301feet up in the air at 9:30at night following the cooler ground temps the rain bought with it.Has anyone ever had a problem at outer hanks with the foodbeing overly salty? I swear the fish & chips there tasted horrible because of the amount of salt....next time I think we'll stick to jukebox diner for dinner but I'm part & partial to victoria pizza myself as their cheese pizza is fabulous IMO as far as park food goes.

Went to the park today & things were ok until the rains came during the mid to late afternoon. Managed to get on windseeker twice today,including a coveted night ride to enjoy the lights as well as getting in some laps on the usual but passed on most of the flats for the most part aside from americana & the carousel & everything was going fine until we hit anaconda. I swear I think we're gonna be using the lockers from now on for our loose items because while we were on anaconda someone stole my girlfriend's camera out of the bin during our ride...we had gotten off the ride & went down the ramp when we noticed that her camera case was missing so we went back to look for it & I know I put everything in the bin before riding but alas it wasn't in there but lwo & behold we find the case on the floor near the bin closest to the op's booth but minus the camera. Aside from that things weren't too bad once the rain let up & most rides were near walk ons,we got at least two laps on rebel yell without having to get off & had the entire yellow train to ourselves for a good four laps on Grizz to close out the night....I didn;t get home till about 12:30 AM this morning & am exhausted.Did anyone else brave the monsoon & hit the park today?

And that of course is what got me to post my take on BBW's removal a few pages back.As for wildcat it seems to have had a good run but that run has come to an end & something better is probably bound to replace it in due time.

Find the bumpiest country road you can--preferably with a washboard surface. Then drive over it in, say, an old Willy's GP at about 30 miles per hour. You will have experienced Son of Beast. That being said, I understand where you're coming from. Or just take a few laps on hurler(preferably on the right side) without getting off.
