  1. As "too-good to be true" as this rumor sounds, it actually kind of COULD make sense. I mean, SEVERAL of their parks will be four or more years since their last coaster addition (CGA, CP, KBF, WoF, VF, KI, MiA). We already know pretty much that CGA is finally getting their GCI next year. Also, I wouldn't be shocked to see Cedar Point's 2013 addition include multiple coasters (Maybe one larger thrilling coaster and a new family/kiddie coaster or two) in an effort to keep up their "roller coaster capitol" status battle with SFMM. Who knows. I could certainly see WoF getting a new coaster soon and I hope it does! (I think the park needs a launched coaster!) While CGA has been confirmed they're not gonna waste alot of money on CP trying to regain that stupid coaster crown title...Kinzel might've to sate his overinflated ego but he's not in charge anymore.CP may get one coaster next year but that still leaves six other parks & MIA,Dorney & CWL are ruled out as two of those three parks got coasters this year & as we all know MIA is the SFAW/SFAW of the chain so they're pretty much ruled out as well. That leaves Carowinds,KI,KD & perhaps KBF as the only other likely candidates aside from CP as WOF just made it known on their blog that it's unlikely that they'll be getting a major ride like a coaster next year so I doubt that this eight coaster for 2013 rumor holds any merit.
  2. I'm well aware of that, however they havn't seemed to have gone "clone" crazy with that particular model.
  3. I looked all over that site & found nothing about this rumor, what thread was it posted in over there? There could be some truth to the rumor, but only if CF plans to add a few small family rides like the big spin style spinners to some of the parks as those are less expensive thana bigger ride from say Intamin & or B&M.
  4. It's probably just that a rumor as there's only 11 parks in the chain total(including GL/WWK) so that rumor would conclude with all but two CF parks adding coasters in 2013 & we all know that's just not gonna happen.
  5. Isn't that pretty much the same way six flags does it? would explain why the same parks tend to get rides more frequently than others in the SF chain.
  6. Give them a bit of time & they might become as good as B&M,I like the new layout for the flyer but let's see if they've improved the reliability.
  7. It's actually looking good compared to the theming used on recent rides in the park like PBR & Batwing.
  8. The new train on carolina cobra was definitely an improvement.
  9. LOL!! I'll have my GF in tow with me as per usual during the trip....unfortunately she went on windseeker last month & hated it due to the height so there's NO way she'll ride I305 now.She tends to enjoy dragging me onto FOF & Backlot however, not that they're bad rides mind you but the waittimes sure are.
  10. I have seen that video and to me it's pretty impressive. I agree that a 4D could be cool if it was smooth and flowing. I'm looking forward to riding Wild Eagle in July and don't hate the WR's I just want Cedar Point to build a woodie on the beach. The current Wingriders are pretty boring looking to me. Wild Eagle looks like a better ride than the others but mostly because of location. I think without building a working and enjoyable 4D, these are pretty limited. Would a hyper be cool...probably but I don't know if the trains could take it. Cedar Point is a very fine park but not having a great wooden coaster experience is a huge hole. It seemed like now was the time to take care of that glaring weakness in their line up. The woodies are here to stay for certain. With the renewed developments for the CGA woodie taking shape & Quimmett's drive for family rides I truely wonder if a new woodie for CP is around the corner in the coming years? If designed well a good woodie will certainly draw both families & thrillseekers alike for years to come & would be worth the investment at less than the cost of a gimmicky ride like a wingrider.
  11. Glad both sides are finally running, perhaps we might run into each other since I'll be there on june 2nd as well.
  12. Anytime. That's one thing I hate about waterslides is trying to get the weight balanced right.
  13. True but don't the B&M versions generally run at full capacity while with the vekoma version you're often lucky to have one train running & minimal downtime. Now perhaps if we ever see a B&M flyer in a CF park we might see better operations who knows?
  14. Joker always runs one train. At least, it did when I was there about 50 times last season. That's a shock as JJ always ran at full capacity when I would go to the park,ROS & Batwing on the otherhand...
  15. Try squeezing into the trians on Backlot or FOF to get a feeling of how cramped premiere's new lapbar mods turned out to be.
  16. I completely disagree. Wingriders have tons of potential and will only get better. They are the hot ride for this decade. They will be more like inverts. Every park will want one. Here's a video to watch. Depends on what they can do with the layout & elements as to it's staying power....one thing that disappointed me with the DM's for instance is the lack of loops probably due to the width of the train) kinda like how standups & flyersare/werelimited in their inversion offerings due to the train design/rider position.
  17. That's a problem KD has to face if they ever build behind waterworks since they cannot build around hurler to connect to the land that's behind it.
  18. I've had some pretty crazy rides myself but none coming even remotely close to a full 360....gonna have to hit the birds at KD next weekend & see what sort of "trouble" I can get into.
  19. I'll be at KD on june 2nd. As for a path back behind Roar's drop/first turn while it's possible they'd have to really clear out all the junk back there first.
  20. Ohh? so it looks like they didn't use as much of the land back there as I thought....that leaves some room for a possible ride back therein the future.
  21. I love the new look of the DA/Grizzly plaza,it adds a much needed facelift to that area & a shorter walk to the ride station as a result. Just curious, since you did the walk through of DA Chuck how far back toward WWC does the path go? Perhaps there might still be some remaining land over there that they can build uopn in the future....if it weren't for the $5.00 fee I'd consider going through it a few times & might be actually tempted to try it on my next trip.
