  1. I tend to go on saturdays & it can get crowded with the lines on backlot,FOF & volcano being so long I tend to skip them(not really a fan of volcano anyway) & with fastlane expect longer waits over last year on rides that use it based on my opening weekend observations.
  2. Not sure but is the waterpark open this weekend? if so that should help keep the crowds down a bit.
  3. Don't forget KD cancelling their installation of the flying dutchman in favor of the TA2K also played a part.
  4. I'm sure that whatever they replace the ride with will give cause to the complainers to issue a decree of forgiveness.Let's face it folks parks change & need to upgrade all the time & sometimes that comes at the cost of a "classic" ride that many have a sentimental attatchment to. It does beg the question however as to what the longevity of a steel coaster truely is...and for the record I'm not happy with BGW for removing what was arguably one of the best Arrow suspendeds ever built, but that one's for a different thread alltogether.
  5. Not gonna happen as the decision to remove wildcat came at the last minute & the ride was undergoing testing before CF announced on their site it's removal. My bet is that it's still going somewhere in china/asia as there seems to be alot of new parks opening year after year in that part of the world.
  6. The whole "who has the most coasters" battle between CP & SFMM has hurt both respective park chains as the capital needed to "fight" this ongoing "war" has resulted in many of their other parks being overlooked for substantial capital improvements over the years that could be of significant improvement to the chains instead of a short term gain for just one respective park. Six flags with more parks total vs. CF has obviously been effected more severely by this because by blowing their capex budget onMM year after year it has left the remaining parks with next to nothing just to maintain the loyalties of a very small demographic...the coaster enthusiast crowd annd I've said it so many times before:no one in Valencia,or Sandusky is gonna give a rats rear about the other park some 2,000 miles away from them having one more coaster in their count than their park does.
  7. Don't think a Backlot clone could fit there & capacity on that ride would be about the same if not worse with only 12 passengers per train....a spinning mouse can fit there pretty well though along the lines of spinning dragons. Aren't they using wildcat's footprint for the new luminosity show? if so then a new ride can be ruled out anytime soon.
  8. Couldn't agree with you more there as they slow down dispach times greatly because half the riders don't know that it attatches to the bar, rather than across the lap.
  9. As of Saturday there was only 2 trains running and 3rd was no where to be seen. But 5 days can make a difference in getting #3 back on. I'm hoping they get it up to full capacity ASAP.
  10. Sounds alot like the belts on FOF & Backlot to me where it connects to the side of the lapbar.
  11. ^Hopefully Dominator's 3rd train will be running this weekend & Rebel yell should have northside running as well.
  12. Yeah,I'm finding the same situation here as well,Dominator sure did a number on me as well.[/ The Coasters ( except Hurler back row) Don't bother me at all. I305 made Me feel 100lbs lighter on my feet. Mostly flat rides do me in like Swings The Crypt which I still never rode and Swings forget it . I am 300bls and those chains are not big enough for me. Dominator just makes me hyper . Dominator's 2nd half is really intenst for me,especially that final helix but I can tolerate most flats safe for scrambler ughh. I think the wave swinger can support your weight & they've got backup cables as well so there's no need to worry,as for crypt I'd recommend skipping it as it will get you blowing chunks and the harness is hard as bricks which is the main reason I won't ride it again.
  13. Yeah,I'm finding the same situation here as well,Dominator sure did a number on me as well.
  14. Funny you mention that because I felt the same way after riding the eagles on opening weekend. I get queasy just watching the dang thing.... Sigh...the ravages of age. LOL!!
  15. Funny you mention that because I felt the same way after riding the eagles on opening weekend.
  16. I've heard that bang on Anaconda also. I was riding it last year middle train with my friend, when we heard and felt it under our car. That doesn't sound good. Havn't gotten on anaconda yet this year so I havn't heard it yet.It could've been just one of the anti-rollbacks bouncing along the ratchet though.I've heard loub bangs from I305 & avalanche while on the lift too so I'm sure it's not uncommon.
  17. Well either way that does make it a single spine by doing that.Aside from that it looks like I-305 track to me.
  18. Yeah,if the weather holds out that won't be the case next weekend....looking forward to the pics. Sorry to say pics are a bust lost them somewhere in windows Vista. lol Yea it was nice Saturday with all the walk ons . Also forgot to tell you all white and red trains on Backlot were running. As soon as I fine those blasted pics I will get them up... So backlot is now up to full capacity with all three trains running?
  19. Yeah,if the weather holds out that won't be the case next weekend....looking forward to the pics.
  20. I think the race will not make much difference since it is calling for rain Saturday. Can not remember if it is a night race or not. The race is Saturday night. That might make Saturday be the better bet as everyone will be outta there that night and leave almost 100,000 people to contemplate stopping at the park Sunday....... Good thing we're planning to go next week.
  21. Someone needs to get some better pics of that area to be sure.I hardly cut through that section as I tend to go down the back path towards congo from Dominator so I havn't really seen what's going on.
  22. That's what I'm hoping for as well. I'd really like to see them open up that path where the smoking area by Dominator is so you don't have to walk all the way down to the east end just to get back into the park to go toward the south end.
  23. I think the race will not make much difference since it is calling for rain Saturday. Can not remember if it is a night race or not. Good thing I'm going on the 5th,just hope the weather cooperates as it's not looking good on accuweather's extended forecast. I really think we'll see a kidzville expansion in 2013,or at least something for the kids to replace the cave,I just remembered that the tree swing ride was removed earlier in the year just prior to opening weekend so a much needed PS add on seems to be in the works which makes perfect sense since the kids area hasn't seen anything new since 2004 & many of the kiddie rides have been around since the park's opening back in 1975. I wonder might we be seeing ghoster coaster be rethemed to woodstock express?
  24. Well given the location within the park it does make sense...makes you wonder if they'll drop the whole pirate theme for that area? Latest rumors seem to indicate that it'll be back to the waterpark again in 2013 with the possible construction of some of those planned waterslides from 06/07 that never got built. They need to focus on expanding the ride park, not the waterpark.
  25. Not really necessary, as a good B&M Wingrider has been out for some time now. Where can you get the download? I'll try looking in the RCT2 help thread.
