  1. At least unlike we saw with Batwing it's not being delayed for technical/mechanical issues.....if the park continues to improve at this pace I miight try to talk my friends into returning within a couple more seasons.
  2. Seems they've tried to improve the detailing on some rides lately...the new paint on pirate's flight is a nice touch.
  3. Going on may 5th....hope to get a night ride in on windseeker this time. Heck yea that be wild to see it in action at night. I work every other weekend so I try to get go when I can. Yeah,I got a few distant shots of the lights & sign while taking a detour over there from FOF around closing on april 7th bu hope to get more next time around...perhaps I'll shoot some video this time since I only had my cell with me on my last visit.
  4. I'm still betting on an overseas park....the new CEO isn't Kinzel after all & is less inclined to build expensive coasters especially to win a "coaster count crown" against a park that's thousands of miles away from CP,those days are long gone. You have to remember that this project will have been in the works for quite a few years and so would be a product of the Kinzel era as opposed to the new CEO. As for my personal opinion, I think that the second pic looks exactly like the piece of track about halfway down Shambahala's drop where the support meets the track except possibly angled more in the area of 80-85 degrees than 75. That's what I was thinking as well regarding the angle of that track element. It is still possible that Kinzel may be behind this but other than MF & Magnum CF under Kinzel would usually take a more guarded approach & debut a prototype at one of their smaller parks first before going for a huge version for CP...should be interesting to see where this one ends up. I wonder, could it be going to an Austrailian park? I know the chances are slim but let's remember that our off-season is their operating season.....just a thought I'd like to throw out there.

  6. A few years back I tried downloading and installing that set into my RCT3 folder on my old desktop & it didn't install properly nor could be removed so it led to the game crashing & thanks to the faulty registry keys in soaked & wild I couldn't properly uninstall the game so now I'm not gonna install 3rd party scenery packs again. Anyone know if you can build a 4-D coaster in RCT2 with the seats facing forward wingrider style? My guess is you'd have to use reverse incline mode to dispatch the trains "backwards" since the trains can't be reversed in the station but has anyone tried it yet?
  7. Notice how it says "country of origin USA"I'm not certain of wether or not Hair raiser's track had that description vs. say WE's or XF's track during fabricationso that leads me to believe it's going overseas. Also look at the steepness of that one element & it's connection to the support. It certainly looks like a terrain coaster to me rather than one you'd see of this type as an SF style parking lot coaster. That, and the early production time says overseas(probably China) to me for this project,of course it could still be destined for a US park so this should be interesting to see as the months go by & more details emerge about this ride.
  8. I don't consider using the disabled guest entrance on some rides such as intimidator as "merging" into the station,it's more like cutting the line entirely. Now if they were to merge the lines somewhere in the middle instead of creating a seperate queue then it'd be a bit more fair but still the park shouldn't be offering the ability to bypass the lines at all just because someone pays to do so & I'm not the only one who's not happy with this as there were plenty of other guests in line for the rides we went on who were just as unhappy seeing a whole bunch of people cutting the lines as we were. Even if the system were free I still wouldn't use it,there should only be one access point for all rides & nobody should be given preference just because they pay extra to do so.I still don't ride volcano & never did all that much even before the system was added simply because the ride is boring & "sucks" in my opinion, now I know that may offend a lot of KD fanboys here who think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread(in the coaster world) but not everyone likes it for their own reasons.
  9. The park is better off just keeping fastlane off of the rides period....what's next the restrooms getting it? I swear the next thing we'll probably see is mandatory "loose item holders"at rides in an attempt to make a quick buck....after all SFI seems to have gotten away with this so CF will probably do the same.

  11. I agree, wave swinger is usually at most a 1 cycle wait for me...and this is on saturdays.Hurler is always empty as well.
  12. Youmust be new to the way the industry rumor mill functions....truth is that park staff conducting surveys or operating rides have next to no reliable information regarding future projects, and the only ones that do aren't going to go around telling guests about it while in line for rides...instead they choose to let marketing staff do so by way of official announcements on the park's website.
  13. Good idea on the box...I'll have to pick one up sometime. I've got the usual stuff like maps, books ,t-shirts,videos & of course on-ride photos as well as a few KD & AW/SFA postcards.Perhaps I'll post an album on facebook containing most of it?I really need to upload the remaining on ride photos to the album I recently started there.
  14. An OTSR from chiller, gives me a headache just looking at it thinking of all the headbashing I took on JJ between 99 & 02.
  15. The ride always had three trains but in recent years they've only been using two of them.I don't know how a dual load is gonna work with this ride as you'd somehow need to reconfigure the exit ramp to go between the two stations & under the ride to get back to the midway(likeon firehawk & batwing) otherwise the "new" station will just end up blocked by people exiting from either station. I sure hope this doesn't interfere with long term plans for 2013 & 2014 resulting in a major ride addition having to be put on hold for a season or two but we shall see.
  16. When we went on opening weekend backlot only had white train running with red on the storage track while blue was nowhere to be seen,I guess it's early in the season so they're still trying to get rides up to capacity but backlot has been having rollbacks lately.
  17. One park has already done this--Silver Dollar City with Powder Keg (a "Frankensteined" ride that's a lot of fun). I definitely would love to see something like Powder Keg at KD (and other parks). I know about that one since it was Arrow/S&S who modified the original buzzsaw falls "liquid" coaser that premier rides built back in the late 90's.
  18. AFIK volcano always had the short four car trains as part of it's design, otherwise the station & the number of gates would've been made longer during during construction. When it first opened they took one row of seats off of each car to reduce weight to increase reliability. I was watching that video of their take on the S&S tower & am thinking that perhaps they might someday want to take a stab at exploring their own version of the failed thrust air concept in the future? just imagine the possibilities if they learned from some of S&S's mistakes & came up with a much better layout.
  19. I would prefer a better layout for the ride but that of course isn't gonna happen....IMO the ride just falls short since all it consists of is 1 sidewinder & 3 heartlines while descending back & forth around the exterior of the mountain,I think I'm quite entitled to hold that opinion....and yes SFA in it's current state still "sucks" but it looks like they're finally making an effort to turn that park around by adding something new to the park after ten years worth of nothing but removals.
  20. True but with fastlane it only got worse & about the dual station I can see one side being used for FL & the other being for normal load....perhaps they could add a 4th train to the ride to also improve capacity as well. Having said that it won't do much for the ride layout of course & aside from the wait times it's the layout & lack of traditional inversion elements that really let me down with this ride....I'd rather have an SLC instead as at least the layout is more traditional with a lift & drop followed by more traditional inversions rather than just barrel rolls but of course that's just me.
  21. Saw the coastercrew update on facebook for tonight's in the loop podcast just now & they say there's big news concerning volcano that will be revealed in tonight's show.
  22. I was there that same day & noticed it as well, not to mention the missing blue train on backlot.
  23. Did they add a fastlane line to anaconda? it sure looks like some of the anaconda pics were taken from a different angle/location since the main queue is visible in a couple of them.
  24. ^^I have a feeling that windseeker's gonna get a lot of photographic coverage before the season's done.
  25. The storage track is just to the right of the station approach, basically behind the platform. I was in row 4 on Dominator & fully expected the usual vibrations in the first flat spin off the MCBR but was pleasantly suprised to find the entire second half to be perfectly smooth....let's hope it stays that way.
