See this is why I stopped going to this park four years ago.The 07 season was my last one after nine years as a passholder but what I don't get is WHY,when CF has been expanding operations at KD has SFI done NOTHING in terms of improving this park? I guess they know that they've let the place slip so far behind that they feel there's no way to redeem it when all they need to do is simply take a break from focusing their cap ex budget soley on SFMM & SFGRADV & start paying more attention to the smaller parks for a while. I'm no longer able to post on t he SFA facebook page but left a post on the main SF page asking why they can't accept any constructive criticism from their guests via FB especially if that would help them better understand what their guests want but have yet to get a reply.

I was at Knotts on Friday too and noticed the paint work starting. What a bunch of idiots! The ride was down for maintenance for almost 3 weeks, that would be the time to paint. They must be painting in the morning and or evening I guess. So KD's not the only park that's slow on the repaints?They still havn't touched anaconda from where they started before the opening of the 2010 season & it's the ride's 20th anniversary no less.

What was so bad about your 2008 experience at the park?

I could picture a decent invert or flyer going in back there.There's gotta be suitable access behind grizzly in order for the park to perform annual maintenance on it so most of that land should be suitable for expansion....There appear to be powerlines pretty close to the land south of hurler so perhaps that explains why it's a no go for expansion back there.

^^^^Dang!!! I didn't even suspect that they had that much room to work with but if I'm not mistaken the land directly south of hurler is off limits for expansion purposes.

Most of northern va. was under a tornado watch that expired at 9 pm saturday night,we had some pretty heavy rains up here as a result of the storms too.

I hear ya that OV needs a signature ride aside from grizzly to really pull peeps over there but where could anything fit behind the KD theatre?If I'm not mistaken the highway pretty much borders the park on that side so there's not much space to work with but I'd love to see a nice B&M invert over there cough CGA's flight deck cough.

I got my fingers crossed for next saturday,they'll be open till ten PM for the first time this year.

Perhaps a ride more towards the back may provide different results? I find the G-s going into the "new" turn to be a bit much & actually preferred the original layout even with the trims. I wonder how long it'll take staff to notice their little flag mistake?

So it looks like CF is considering opting out of their lease withthe city for the park?

^^I don't download anything for RCT3 anymore,not after the last download messed up my game & since I was using the expansions I couldn't uninstall to fix the problem.

Funny thing about volcano:when I went on opening weekend they only had the very last row blocked so we rode in row #1 of car #4 & good lord was it worse IMO than any SLC.I'd love to see them change those OTSR's to the straps like on 305,same should be done on DT as well.

A good addition would be a "new" addition,not a rethemed version of an existing ride.

So CW's got their windseeker tower completed first? Let's see how long it takes the other three parks to catch up.

I definitely like the new Raptoresque colors better,but even the old school 80's colors would've been better than what we had to put up with over the past decade. Looking at Grizz in the pic I just noticed something.....it looks as though the tunnel has been removed!! I hope I'm just looking at the wrong spot or they just temporarily removed it for retracking cuz the tunnel is among the best parts of that ride.

I second that!! Was riding flying ace yesterday & that thing gives me vertigo & it's only 85 ft tall so imagine that same basic experience from the height of DT or I305....I'll bet alot of folks are gonna come of shaking after the ride worse than I did on skycoaster.

^First lap was in row #3 while our 2nd was in row#4 more towards the end of the day(we left around 7:30 or so) & both rides were far smoother than last seaso's rides in october were. I remember seeing I305's silverback train stuck near the top for a good while s hortly after getting off after our first lap...good thing they got it running later in the day.

Only the old station building,the rest is just asphalt & you can clearly see where the footers once were.That reminds me,while in line for hurler today I spotted a single red flag in the general vicinity...looks like us KD fans gotta watch that area as the season goes on. Back to CGA though:The reason for keeping the landscaping simple could be that CF might GL the park...after all why bother investing mega bucks on landscaping only to bulldoze it along withthe rest of the park?I hope this doesn't happen & that CGA finally gets some much needed attention however.

I was wondering what that was while up on the tower but then remembered that it was the old track when I got a better view on hurler. As for the ride itself,let me say that I'm not a real fan of the new reprofiling as IMHO the airtime isn't near as intense as it was before the trims were installed last season,could be due to wearing my jacket which made for a tighter fit my first ride but even on the second ride later in the day I found it to be more of a floater as opposed to ejector air experience with even more positive G's going into the turn than before....I have to admit that I liked the ride better with the trims plus original turn than now but that's just me. The rest of the park seems to be picking up quite well granted a few rides were down during the day.Volcano really threw me around a bit too much but Dominator is back to it's 08 smoothness & the rattle that was present last year appears to be gone,hurler was it's usual POS self(can't wait for Grizz to reopen next month & I must say I was impressed with shockwave's ride as wel as the new paintjob. Rebel yell had some downtime on southside this afternoon & they had to evac riders from the base of the lift but at least they got it going an hour or so later,I did notice some discarded track next to the ride on the return leg of southside's course so I guess they must've retracked parts of it during the offseason.

I believe it was Natgeo channel's supercoasters program.

I must agree but good lord I'm tired of seeing orange on that ride.

^^Shockwave running & if so did the trains get repainted?

Is it just me or did they focus way too much of the ride on just lefthand turns? I hate rides like that.

I'll be looking forward to it.

It probably will be,that is if the place gets built at all.
