  1. A lot of people seem to think these coasters are just a little too rough. I am one of those people. But I do love both coasters. (I just can’t see Mine Blower holding up well over time...)
  2. This afternoon I drove up to Valencia to check out Six Flags Magic Mountain’s latest thrill machine. Crowds are usually pretty light this time of year, but seeing as this is the park’s newest ground-up coaster, I didn’t know what to expect queue-wise. Fortunately, I must’ve chosen a great day to visit—when I arrived at the ride, there wasn’t a single other person in line! Excitedly, I ran up the entrance ramp and made my way to the front of the station. The ride op gave me a suspicious look (yes, some of us have weekdays off...give me a break?) but then proceeded to open the gates. I took a seat in the front row, pulled down my lap bar, and was off on my zen ride! The coaster begins with an impressive 399cm lift hill. As you approach the top, you can see a portion of the surrounding area, but the chain moves too quickly to enjoy the view for long. Suddenly, the train is pulled to the right and dives toward the ground at a slight bank! This first drop reminded me a lot of Expedition GeForce’s—though I may not remember that one very well. The coaster then continues to the right as it rises into the second hill. As the train crests the top of this hill, you experience a pop of almost-airtime. Crazy! You descend again, this time twisting through a 360 degree helix, gaining speed as you approach the earth’s floor! This may be the most forceful part of the ride. Exiting the helix, the train traverses a straightaway element—similar to the one near the end of Millennium Force—where riders can truly appreciate the sense of speed. Then, the coaster rips to the right again, dropping slightly as it does, sending riders flailing into the side of their cars with insane lateral G’s! The train continues curving right, up, and into the station, and SLAMS into the brakes, showcasing the sheer power of the coaster. Wow. What a ride. The operator asked over the speaker system if everyone would like to go again, but seeing as I was the only one on the train, I decided once was all I can handle, so he released the lap bars and I made my way to the exit. I’m not great at rating systems, but let me just say that Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers is one hell of a ride. The onride photo booth is difficult to locate because it’s not marked and the employee doesn’t wear a uniform, but fortunately he found me and was able to sell me this picture for $20. What a Six Flags Day!
  3. I know this is going to sound super geeky, but...this has the potential to have one of the best RMC pre-lifts to date!! Lol
  4. ^Recounting with the POV's, there are 23 drops/inversions on Twisted Colossus...not including the little pre-lift bumps, some of which are kind of forceful. I believe it!
  5. Interesting that zero hangtime registered on Twisted Colossus... But super cool app!
  6. Depressing. But also super cool to see that GIANT sidewinder uncovered by the volcano structure.
  7. This sounds AWESOME!!! What a cool idea!
  8. I was having issues with a few of my rankings rearranging, but before submitting my ballot, my #1 priority was to make SURE Coast Rider was at the very bottom of my list!
  9. I’m really interested to see what I think of Hyperion this summer. I was surprised to see it didn’t rank higher. Then again, I much prefer the giant Intamin coasters (Skyrush, I305, etc) to most RMC’s. I also feel bad for the poor Orca Ride!
  10. I attended the Boysenberry Festivals last year and was really impressed. This year’s selections look even better!!! Thanks for the great coverage!
  11. Wowza, this coaster is GORGEOUS!!! I can't wait to see some reviews come in. Regardless, this seems like exactly the kind of coaster Nagashima Spa Land needed. Hoping to get there one day to ride this, Steel Dragon, and ULTRA TWISTER!
  12. Ugh. I loved Green Lantern and the way it tried to rip my face off. Between this and Volcano, 2019 is a sad year for American Intamins.
  13. I appreciate that this park is trying to freshen things up a bit...but what are they smokin over at Walibi Holland? All of their recent “theming” is atrocious.
  14. This is frowned upon but technically will be okay, the ranking system considers negative numbers to be higher ranks than 0. What’s the best solution to this? Obviously the numbers didn’t rearrange correctly when I dragged and dropped...but I don’t want to manually renumber every coaster I’ve ranked in the spreadsheet.
  15. Currently my top 3 coasters are ranked as -2, -1, and 0. Is this a problem? Also I've had the same issue as someone else where my bottom 10-20 coasters keep randomly placing themselves throughout my list when I refresh (even after I press "save"). Frustrating.
  16. I personally think Intimidator is the perfect coaster to take a nap on. But this looks like a blast!!!
  17. ^Thanks Josh!!
  18. Congrats! Phantasialand lives up to the hype and then some!! It's truly amazing! Ride Mystery Castle multiple times--the ride cycle changes!
  19. ^I am PSYCHED for Wonder Park! Literally all of our childhood dreams come true. lol Since you guys are my fellow thrill-seeking friends who love movies, I wanted to put this here. I am currently in preproduction of the first movie project that I wrote and will be directing. It's a horror thriller short film about a young woman who is home alone taking a bath when she hears an intruder break in downstairs. It should be really scary! I want to make this film of the highest quality possible because I'll be using it to pitch my next project, a horror FEATURE film, to big genre movie investors. BUT FIRST, I need investors for this project. Please take a look at my Indiegogo campaign I've put together and see if you'd be interested in supporting it! I would truly truly appreciate any kind of contribution from my coaster community! LEARN MORE ABOUT MY INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN
  20. Yay!!! I was starting to think they were hoping we all just forgot about this ride.
  21. Visiting SeaWorld Orlando for the first time on Sunday! Hoping everybody will be watching that big Sports Ball game so crowds will be especially light.
  22. Oh yeah. This is def going to Dorney.
  23. In other news, this fake giga video has now been shared on Facebook 34,000 times and a different friend from home texts me nearly every day asking if I’ve heard about Kings Island’s new roller coaster...
