Here's a drive-by photo-ing from coaster_dude2002. Lots of progress for sure! It's amazing how much area the ride uses. Crest of the large airtime hill is done. Great skyline. Where's Wild Beast at? From Behemoth. Where's Minebuster at? -

Zach mentioned all the reasons why this ride concept didn't really work as a giant shoot the chute like Pilgrim's Plunge. You couldn't get a super splash or tidal wave, as originally planned, without causing some intense stopping forces on riders. Changing this to a ride that skims (hurtles) over the water as a water coaster makes so much sense. You'll forget the need for any giant tidal wave splashes and it'll probably be so much better Love the pictures BTW! This is really exciting to follow given that we still have no idea what it's going to look like when done. -

This looks awesome. I love those lifts! Here's translation of the press release that's hopefully a bit easier to read. In typical Italian fashion, it's heavy on the superlatives Taken from above: -

Great news! I love these rides. The main differences I've noticed between the Giant Zamperla, Huss and Mondial versions are restraints. The Huss version seems the most constricting, including the view. Otherwise they're all awesome to look at and ride. I'd put the Mondial at the bottom since it isn't as tall I don't think. -

I would say that on Behemoth, the trims work as they're supposed to. Barely noticeable or not even on, unless the train is really flying through the course. I would even say that on many days, the airtime is more ejector than floater, so much so that I pushed my lap bar down at least another click after really feeling like I was going to fly out. The ride can be relentless, in an awesome way. I hope Leviathan will carry on some of those ride characteristics. -
Next up - Six Flags St. Louis. This day was most memorable for it being hotter than hades. Aside from that, I thought The Boss was the greatest thing since sliced bread, especially that surprise helix of death at the end. I had the distinct pleasure of riding front row with Dave T on his first ride, which made it all the more insanely fun. Really enjoyed Mr. Freeze and the backstage tour really interesting, especially learning about the amount of power it takes to run these things. I'd love to try out the park again on a cooler day Enjoy the pics. Here we go! Kinda looks like the real thing, but not really. Backstage tour time! Le Boss? Our awesome tour guide, who oversaw this project. It was actually a bit cooler in here. Talking about the two track system Yah, we're where it's at. We're authorized. Oooh, buttons! Let's check out the power supply. Our awesome visitors for the day! Launch tunnel goodness Oh yah, the power supply for realz this time, back out into the heat we go. Juice up time! Time to get up and personal with Mr. Freeze Memories.. Excalibur! Springsteen, the ride. There she is, in all her glory. One more do over? I hear this is fun. But we melted in line before we got on. Then, it was off to Johnny Rockets where we ate... ...and ate. ..and ate. Hey, it was air conditioned...

^My heart skipped a few beats looking at those pics. Elissa is right, just when it seemed ok to try the tower out, the sound of someone else thumping into a wet net, with water spraying everywhere, chickened me out again. I think mostly everyone, except for a few of us, did it. It was so awesome to watch. Cobra was one of the most interesting experiences ever. The train did stay on the tracks though

Vekoma Roller Coasters

Whoot! I've found a Joe Flaherty/ SCTV fan. I thought no one would catch that After experiencing Disney Vekomas, I think they can really build some good stuff with the right guidance. As for their mainstream stuff, still prefer the boomerangs to the SLCs. Also love their mine trains. Oh, they've made some crazy and interesting loopers, if only because the rails aren't always parallel. I guess they've essentially continued on where Arrow left off. -

Is it ok to be really excited about these pics? I think I drooled a bit. I really hope to ride this either this coming season or next. Love the colours too. But, I'm a bit biased--I actually use the same colour scheme to bring life to boring parts of Excel reports...really, that can be exciting -
Vekoma Roller Coasters
rollin_n_coastin replied to kingdakacor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Came across one of my favourite TV spots as a kid that featured none other than a Vekoma Boomerang! Can these coasters be cool and scary? They can be when Count Floyd is your spokesvampire for The Bat (Canada's Wonderland, 1987)! Just looking at it scared me and I think it took me until the mid 90's to get enough courage to ride this. Been on countless ones since...at least it seems that way Enjoy! -

Wow, what a huge change over the past few weeks! This is looking awesome. Seeing the trains flying out of the park is really going to be be a cool talking point while waiting to get in. -

Pirate Ships/Swinging Ships

^^I think Sea Dragon is the model name for the Chance version of swinging ships. Intamin's is the "Bounty". Total geek out here, I love my flats You're right though, total originality in naming. Love the stand up one! Have to try one of those.
