  1. Well, it was time for my sis and I to go on our traditional yearly trip and for some reason, a Coastermania Adventure sounded cool and worked for me! I think she actually enjoyed it for the most part! Of course, not many people seemed to be into a "themepark as a destination trip" so we were on our own and it worked out really well. It definitely was a great weekend. We left on the Thursday fairly early so made a pit stop over at Waldameer Park before continuing on to Cedar Point from Fort Erie. On our way I-90 styles! Woohooo...the US of A border! There's nothing more intriguing than a bridge that leads to Buffalo! Actually Buffalo is close and is an ok place to hang out and check out the Bills, Sabres, shop cheaper or oh yah...Darien Lake .
  2. Honestly, I was hoping that after everyone's encourgement last night, there would be some progress here today......
  3. Shawn, sounds awesome! How is Sarah Silverman? I'm guessing you'll be at BBash? Downunder, didnt' realize you were on midwest too...will this be your second TPR trip? I think it's great that the add-on is coming up here and glad to hear the midwest trip was a great time. Completely agree about Timewarp, you just need to get it done and over with, it really hurts. Downunder, the Fly (Mack mouse) always has a huge line, it is a very popular family coaster and looks really cool with that paint job. The line is very slow. If we had night ERT on that side of the park, I think what would be really cool is definitely Vortex (like Shawn mentioned) and Thunder Run (Mack Blauer Enzian inside Wonder Mountain) because it too always has a slow and long line during the day but unlike the mouse, is fairly unique and a lot of fun. But adding the mouse or Boomerang to ERT in that area as a trio would be a lot of fun.
  4. Hey TheCoasterKid, you were on the midwest trip? I was just looking at some of the pictures since I'm going on the east coast trip this year, looks like you guys had an amazing time! I'm no sure if anyone else from around here is going, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
  5. Definitely looking forward to this as well! Maybe the ACE event at Wonderland can give us an idea of pricing (see below)? Although this this isn't our pricing and each group is negotiated seperately, this can maybe give you an idea of what to budget for. We'll have to wait until the final details come out for official pricing. Like Carnage said, the Europe trip coming on Friday. Anyone going to that btw? Cheers, Jason ACE Wild at Wonderland Event: WITH Season Pass (Fee is $30 CAD) (Guest Fee is $40 CAD) WITHOUT Season Pass (Fee is $60 CAD) (Guest Fee is $70 CAD)
  6. Mike, Congratulations on Coaster 600!! I think I saw you there now that I think of it? Definitely saw Scott and his cousin up in line but lost them when we made it in and didn't have a chance to say hi. What a cool event, it was my first. I was just so happy that they served Starbucks and donuts at 5:30am!! BTW, were those sausages or hot dogs? haha My sister and I arrived to the buffet a bit late so all the candy apples and candies were being raided by moms with massive purses hahah I did manage to get some left on the tables Did they end up running anything for night ERT? I was a bit tired and ended up heading back to the hotel after the second rain shower. Also, great pics! Now that I know for sure what some TPR folks look like, I definitely hope to run into you guys in the future and to say hi. We met some great people over the weekend! All the best and safe travels to your next destination! Jason
  7. Hey Robb and Elissa, since I had to back out of the east coast add-on, please count me for Behemoth Bash at the very least! Definitely look forward to it! I have a pass as well. Cheers, J
  8. Oh hey man! I hope I was a good neighbour, as scary as that climb up the hill was Small world huh? Good meeting you and hope you and your girlfriend enjoyed it! I hear you, I took a copy of that picture home and some of my head is cut off, I think it's really funny....but I'm going to try to get a copy of the second one also. Say hi if you see me around. I'm sure I'll be back to try that out again for sure!
  9. Paul, great review and update! The pics are awesome! I was with the charity auction and was able to ride a full train in the very back seat. Amazing! We were able to ride twice so I tried the front seat the second time and both offer two completely different but amazing experiences. The ride looks spectacular and in all honesty, I love the new trains compared to the standard B&Ms. Every seat has a great view because no seat has another directly in front of it. Oh, and lots of room to kick, raise arms, fling them to the side, etc etc. It's not Intamin-intense, but it is well-rounded and really is a lot of fun! I think the ride, along with everything else there, makes visiting the park very worth while. After we were done, they dropped the rope and let 'em all in: Picture 2 - Hopefully, everyone made it safely. After Media day and the auction, this was the first official lineup with Seasons Pass holders. Picture 1 - Just after the rope dropped. Notice Wonderland exec in black coat running to the entrance before the mob arrives to make sure everything was under control. Not sure how it all went, but it looked pretty insane.
  10. LoL Honestly after February, might as well live in one I think we are actually getting more snow than Buffalo!! That's really unusual Kind of tired of shovelling in all honesty, but at least it's warming up. Anyways, so glad the TPR trip will be up in the area! Behemoth is going to be awesome and don't worry, snow will be long gone by then! Plus, Dragon Mountain and moreso Skyscreamer will give an awesome view of Niagara Falls at Marineland. I'm pretty sure I'll be on the add-on also so looking forward to meeting everyone that's coming. Cheers, Jay
  11. Here's hoping that the top half will be comething cool. All the other stations at Wonderland are well done so hopefully this will at least be on par with the others. Cedar Fair can build awesome stations..Maverick's is an example. But then like Six Flags, you can have Goliath's like at La Ronde (very nice) vs. Nitro's at SFGA (the tin can) Oh and yah..the pictures are nothing like what you see in person, it's huge Edit: hugs = huge lol
  12. That's why choice is great....Intamin and B&M offer a totally different experience depending on your mood and how you're feeling. I personally love both but lean toward Intamin, but that's personal preference. That being said....hope the park gets at the very least a sit down looping Intamin one day. I'm with everyone who thought the ride looks a bit "blah" at first, but hey, it's a mega and you can't get really overly creative with the layout. All of them seem to look that way but that's always VERY deceiving until you 1) actually see the thing in person/ up close and 2) actually ride them and find out how much fun and punch they pack. The most exciting part of the layout by far is the height. I mean..look how massive this thing is compared to Minebuster and Wonder Mountain. It'll be different from Nitro beceause, it's not Nitro. (Regardless, Nitro is so much fun) Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!
  13. Ok..this may be off-topic so everyone, please skip over if you're not intersted in beach stuff in Toronto Chadley: Great to hear that you and your family are coming up! Beach in Toronto.......they exist yes, do people swim in the water.....uhm...I wouldn't recommend it. The lake is too dirty for swimming. This doesn't mean the areas aren't nice, far from it. It's just the water that's iffy. There is an area called "The Beach" on the east end of the city. Boardwalk, shops, restaurants, a nice setting a great neighbourhood overall. For a more natural park setting, the west end lakeshore area has trails, parks, a pool. Also in the area, the new man-made "urban" beach called Ht0 http://www.thestar.com/article/222165 For a really cool experience, go to the local grocery store, prepare a little picnic and take the really short ferry ride to Centre Island which is one of the nicest parks in Toronto and has a great view of the city. You can rent some crazy stuff in addiiton to bikes for two, four, etc. There's a small city-managed amusement area called Centreville. The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is also on the island if you're into boats (to be viewed from a distance of course haha) Further west...the CNE (the fair takes place during the last two weeks of August) is great and Ontario Place is great for younger kids. Northwest of the city you'll find of course, Canada's Wonderland, which is buidling that behemoth roller coaster, Behemoth For the fansite..visit www.cwmania.com
  14. Hey all! Can't wait for this coaster as it's at my home park! Cool discussion...I can't believe it's so long! I was there last week and the station pieces are by their respective footers..it's like a sea of orange! About four support beams had already been put up at last check and lots of track seems to be on site. I believe they're working on footers on the far end of the ride at this point as well. Please do remember that anyone who is a non-enthusiast and hasn't been outside of Canada or been to Quebec, have never seen four across seating before. All of our coasters operate with trains that seat two across and only with two trains with the exception of Italian Job (3 trains) and the Boomerang/ Bat (1 old Arrow train). So, to most the train looks cool and will still most likely operate as two rows by 2 seats with each having it's own queue line. You'll still be beside your friend, just a bit spread apart in the second row. But we won't know how it goes until we try it out..can't wait!! I also fail to see how people see a capacity issue here, when the train will only take 4 people fewer than the current B&M four-across train. Compared to our other coasters, this line may actually move and be less than a 1.5 to 2 hour wait (what everyone waits for the SLC, Boomerang, Volare and Italian Job). Canada really has never seen anything like this. The Vekoma boomerang is the tallest coaster to date at the park so this is going to be incredible, intense, behemoth and above all world-class. Plus, it really will change the skyline at the park/ north of Toronto!
