  1. Thanks man! Looks like a pretty giant area and definitely something fit for a giga coaster possibly... Less than 48 hours until we all know! Does this mean you'll actually get up here to check it out Garbs? I guess all we need now is something like Schlitterbahn
  2. Great pics again guys. Amazing first thinking that whatever we were getting would be limited to that smaller fenced off area near Speed City. The scope and size of this thing totally caught me off guard .
  3. ^I definitely hear you on a few of your points, but not because of nothing being added. Similar feelings were there when watching how original movie-related attractions (Top Gun, FX Theatre after Days of Thunder and Italian Job, as examples) were de-themed over the years. Music, effects of all types and sets were all shut down or removed. Regardless, we always got really cool additions in terms if thrill rides so money spent there was just better. Also happy that landscaping and the grounds always remained prestine. Also happy that asphalt hasn't been introduced and hopefully won't be to public walkways and such. Edit: Basically saying that we can't take for granted that the park is a great place to look at and be.
  4. We also got a fantastic version of Starlight spectacular, ongoing infrastructure improvements and related promotions in addition to Windseeker. Not to mention ours opened first Not too shabby given that the park had also been planning this 'little' coaster thing all along.
  5. ^To answer directly, why not? Giga just refers to the height of Intamin coasters that are 300' plus. B&M has built mega coasters under and over 200 ft. With them, height will be influenced by the overall design more than anything I'm guessing. If it is something over 300', I'm sure it'll have a twist that we know thing about yet.
  6. The only thing I'm bummed about is getting my prediction completely wrong lol Judging by the scope of work, it's obvious that this is going to be something incredible regardless. It's so cool to see CW getting some world-class attractions after years of mediocrity in their coaster lineup. I was losing hope when Paramount put lipstick on a carnival coaster and calling it Tomb Raider To be fair, the flat ride lineup has been incredible so everything that they're doing is really adding balance and excitement. This is getting really exciting. Thanks Hanno, looks like the trains could maybe make a difference? The Behemoth trains completely caught us off guard. Agree that a DIve, Invert or Flyer are most likely out of the running. I'm still clueless as to what this is going to be-- congrats CW on keeping it that way for all of us!
  7. This is getting really exciting. Great pics again Nick! I guess we can all gather that it's going to be a "little bit" tall? It would be really cool if this was on a Megabuilders (or similar show's) episode like Tatsu.
  8. ^Awesome have fun! Take a ride or two on Behemoth for all of us
  9. ^Agree, we're gonna need it and I think we're going to get it from the looks of things so far Can't wait to see more of your pics! With respect to Windseeker, at least the Toronto Star let everyone know that it wouldn't be open on time for opening day at the beginning of May. Plus it was all over Facebook and Twitter so hopefully not too many people were disappointed when they showed up to find it closed. The park did a great job of keeping everyone informed through media up to it finally opening. Not to dwell on this but it's a good example of how unreasonable and ridiculous people can be sometimes. I'd hate to see what happens if this coaster is delayed. Windseeker opened the first week of June and was delayed a few weeks in May, if that? The fact that you are still going and hearing people complaining seems to mean that the complainers will always be complainers and that it couldn't have been all that bad since they're still going back after three months of the ride being open. The Star article and Yorkregion.com articles, by only using one negative quote from one tool (to be polite) and only one Facebook quote from another tool, respectively, worked in the park's favor I think. It was obvious they were trying to add more drama than was really there. Like the park can control nature and problems associated with a prototype.
  10. Nope, been four times and it's been down every time, with Sledge Hammer, with no riots or major complaints at the rides or in the park. If you're referring to a few people on Facebook, there were a good number of people (thank goodness) who countered with the 'I'd rather wait than die because it's not ready and working" type comments. Anyone who thinks some downtime or a late opening is unacceptable is a bit spoiled, yes (this is not directed at you). Being disappointed makes sense and is reasonable. I think the majority would get over it and realize that things happen. But I do agree completely that since we hardly experience downtime or delays up here, Windseeker sure was a different experience and frustrating for guests and the park.
  11. Intamin's downtime is way exaggerated. You'd need to see what type of ride it is before speculating about that. Sure the rocket coasters have issues, but a giga wouldn't be a problem. MixedDrink, yes, you would Thank you Paul, exactly. I've been to Busch Gardens when Griffon and Apollo were down for half a day and an hour or two respectively on a 4th of July weekend and they had no idea what was wrong. I haven't heard of any major non hydraulic coaster, Intamin or other, having material reliability or capacity issues. I can definitely see the park getting an Intamin one day. If a new attraction goes down, I think the park can handle it considering it doesn't exist yet. People can enjoy one of the many other attractions, as they do now, including the awesome Behemoth and 'maybe' from time to time Sledge Hammer....
  12. Erik, great TR so far! Great seeing you over the weekend! It looks like Quassy gave the Little Dipper a bit of a paint job since the last visit. Does it still make that loud clunking "I don't think i can do this" noise trying to get over the top of the lift with TPR in it? lol Canobie is such a great little park. Almost like you could spend a day there relaxing as well as trying out all the rides. Untamed did give me a good bruise or two. I'm not a huge fan, but the Michael Jackson show was really good. It's with the guy that impersonated him in Scary Movie and in the courtroom re-enactments.
  13. One more week! The 4D thoughts are interesting. If B&M ever did something like that, maybe the smoothness would come from sensors along the track telling the seats to rotate instead of additional rails. Ah, it's fun to imagine. Maybe marketing is just having a lot of fun aiming this at non-enthusiasts, which are the majority. It's a coaster/ major machine--promotion has got to be at least a bit over the top. CW could get any type of B&M coaster and it would still be a one-of-a-kind and amazing ride in Canada. I really like the teasers so far. Can't wait to see what this bird will be.
  14. At least KD hasn't gotten Six Flagged in terms of flats So thankful that CW has kept their classics and added some great new flats as well over the years. A Windseeker would be really cool, especially for those too chicken to ride that massive gyro drop.. lol
  15. ^Wow so I guess that points to B&M (they have a plant in Ohio?). The pieces look like maintenance shed pieces, kind of like on Behemoth.
  16. Whoot! Aqua blue pieces and such on site! I'm sure the awesome photographers will post some pics -- kunpc1, cedarfair? Hope to make it back....with a camera at least lol
  17. While I still think it's a fantastic ride (especially being Intamin), I really would choose to ride, say Millennium Force, New Texas Giant, Maverick, Behemoth, El Toro and a few others ahead of Bizarro/ Super Man at SFNE. I have no idea why that is but if I had a choice, I wouldn't run to it first. Just trying to get to the definition of overrated. For everyone mentioning airtime, does every coaster have to have intense airtime to be regarded as perfect? I thought the combo of Maverick and Millennium Force for i305 was brilliant. People forget about that crazy thing called insane speed sometimes, which on its own can really take your breath away. Opinions are fun, ain't they?
  18. That's a busy day? Consider yourselves lucky as those are very reasonable waits for a busy day. On a busy day up here -- 2 to 3 hours for the SLC, about an hour for Behemoth, an hour plus for the mine train, 30 minutes just to get into the parking lot, etc. Really glad to hear a great review about the pass! The price seems really reasonable. Hopefully it'll pilot well and spread to the other parks. It'll be nice to get more than three rides in during a summer day visit.
  19. Have to say it as well. Fooz, that is a great rendering! Really puts things into perspective. I'm not familiar with No Limits so it looked cool to me except the screaming with no people on the ride part. Your rendering is just better. I wasn't a huge fan of Hershey because when we went it was Jonas Brothers day, really hot and packed. The line ups seemed to move at a glacial pace. Thank goodness for ERT! With this ride, I'm really looking forward to checking out the park again. It looks fantastic. It will be fantastic, the lines will not be confusing, people will ride and people will be happy. All this without eating grouper. This, Storm Runner and the woodies sound like an awesome combo!
  20. GeForce and Mindbender (Galaxy Land) please. One day
  21. ^^^, ^^ The OTSR straps can accommodate a wider range of 'body types'. I remember that being a main reason for them on i305. I guess that's why they went with that train type over the new Bizarro trains, which are essentially the same design as the original, save for a U lap bar instead of a T. Moral of the story: It all depends on what the park wants. Looking at MF, Ka and TTD, you can have either type.
  22. ^as long as it's not the Tivoli model, no problem at all Doesn't seem likely. Teasers don't seem to point to a family coaster like Busch's
  23. After the coolness of Maximum RPM, it's looking like a Premier Rides giga revolver wheel coaster with a launch midway. That or the world's biggest spaghetti bowl coaster. No guarantee that this will be Intamin or B&M, although the strongest clues from the site point to Intamin. Just a bit longer!
  24. ^It's Wonderland, I think they'll make it look fantastic. I was happy to see pavers used instead of asphalt or concrete when the Behemoth midway was built. I don't think we'll have a lot to worry about in that department.
