Official TPR Chat Saturday Night!
Jojo19799 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to try to talk my parents into watching this movie with me. I have a 99.9% feeling that Mom would NOT be interested, but Dad might!! -
Photo TR: Dollywood's Adventure Mountain!

When on the mountain, is there a set path that you have to follow? I've only seen the one at NU, and that one looks like you have a set path to follow, but I could be wrong. -

^Honestly, KT duty is a piece of cake. I hear she likes the tickle game. Whatever that is. -

I'm impressed! When I heard about this, I was thinking more along the lines of Ghostly Gangplank at NU. This is a thousand times better. I can't wait to go to Dollywood and give this a try. Providing that I don't chicken out. -

I was looking forward to visiting Hummel Boy while on the IntimidaTour. He will be greatly missed. Such a sad day in the Hummel World. -
Closest stops are Glenview, IL or Sturtevant, WI. And neither of those are close. There is another option. You could take the Amtrak from Detroit to Chicago. Walk across the street to the Olgilvie Transportation Center. Get on a Metra train to Waukegan, then take the bus from Waukegan to Gurnee. Too many transfers if you ask me. However, if you're a train enthusiast its right up your alley!

Someone has to take care of the coaster nerds. What a great weekend. I can't believe it was only a week ago. It feels like it was ages ago, then again, I'm old.
-
What a great weekend that was. I can't wait to see the rest of your pictures Chuck. Renee - I found it rather odd that you had issues getting into the parks, but you got a fastpass for ToT without a problem.

Try calling SFGAM or SFSTL. Maybe one of the parks will be able to work with you. But in the words of the Great Wise Matt:

Happy Birthday, Kristen! AKA KidTums!

Happy Birthday KT!!! I hope you enjoyed your special day! -
^Oh I figured they were going to add the seatbelts. I'm not complaining about it, nor was I trying to start an argument about it. They were added to all the coasters years ago and it's a safety thing on their part. No biggie. To me the "if we can find it" comment means: "We hate the 50's diner blue, so we're going to find something even more annoying than bright orange".
-
Awww...I liked the 1950's diner style blue seating! Oh well. I don't think the coaster police will get after them for this. Now, Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear....that would be a different story. I'm glad that they're not changing too much. However, the bright orange seat belts look ridiculous. When I worked there, we didn't have safety belts on the coasters, only lap bars. Man, those were the good ol' days.

I keep receiving info from the Venetian/Wynn/Bellagio for discounted rates. I'm really thinking about taking a quick little jaunt out there at the start of summer. Does anyone remember the show Caesars 24/7? It was on A&E I think. I used to watch it all the time. I think it was on around the same time as American Casino.
-
Regarding BB, has anyone thought about how the weather may have had an impact on the ride? Last summer was one of the coolest summers we've had in awhile. Now we did have some high temps and muggy days, but nothing like we normally do. If we constantly had high temps and muggy days, I'm sure BB would have been packed and the queue house would have been used. BB is a great ride, it's themed very well and it will be here for awhile.

I'm glad you're OK Robb, and that nobody was hurt and the fire didn't spread to other buildings. Since the alarms failed to go off, would the owners of the complex be fined for not having "working" alarms? Same. Please keep us posted on that Robb and Elissa. I'm sure it will be an interesting outcome.

I feel like I am the only person that did enjoy the opening ceremonies last night. I did try to watch Beijing's, but I fell asleep. I seriously thought it was boring. I was waiting for Celine Dion and Shania Twain to perform, but something tells me they will perform in the closing ceremonies. It would be a catastrophic if they didn't have the two biggest Canadians ever to perform. I'm also glad that Georgia decided to march in with the other countries. I'm sure the standing ovation was a bit emotional for them, and I hope it lifted their spirits a bit during this tragedy.
