I wonder how many times a day Zach rides that thing. It was really nice of him to do that though. Cory keeps talking about Extreme World. Is that somethig you would want to do in the future? If so, he'll ride with you! -
I don't know why they said the characters are escorted by security. When I worked in that department, there was always at least one or two other department employees with us, but never a security guard. I haven't seen too many security guards out with the characters this year either, but I'm sure this will be made a new policy now that this incident has happened. As for the two doofuses that did this, I don't know what to say. Send them home I guess this way they can't beat up any more characters.

Official TPR Chat Saturday Night!

Christopher Lloyd aka Doc Brown is in this!!! Oh I am SO seeing this!! I thought I read somewhere that Eli Roth was acting as a producer for this film as well. According to imdb.com he's not, so maybe what I read was wrong to begin with. All I know is that this movie will be EPIC! -
Just quoting what Jon mentioned earlier. Now, I don't know if we were *supposed* to get Chang or Riddler's. Personally I think both rides are too big to fit in that area, but then again I'm not an engineer so please don't quote me on that. IF we were to get a new ride, I think it would have been announced either now or at the end of this season. A lot of people were speculating that we were getting Chang just because it's being stored at our park. Now that the plans have been pospotoned, it would be great to see a HH expansion. I think an outside gate from the parking lot leading into HH would be awesome. Let's face it, the front gate can get a little crowded at times, plus I believe it would be a lot easier to get to HH having an outside gate. Not that it's difficult now, but there are probably some people that just go to HH and not bother with the rest of the park and visa versa.

^I was looking at either the Kia Forte or Optima. I did look at the Soul, and at first it was a little to "boxy" for me. However I've been seeing more and more of them on the road and I am falling in love with it. I think I found my next car!

Here is some info about Monday's meeting. There is no real indication on why plans were cancelled. http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/newssun/news/2421482,5_1_WA23_SIXFLAGS_S1-100623.article BTW, I love how he spells the last name. It's Salemi, not "Salami". Salami is a cured sausage. New coaster plans canceled Six Flags Great America Comments June 23, 2010 By ED COLLINS Special to The News-Sun GURNEE -- Six Flags Great America has canceled plans to install another roller coaster, according to Hank Salemi, general manager. Salami gave no reason for the cancellation and no indication whether this might be a temporary or permanent situation. It was believed that the roller coaster in question was a stand-up that had recently been dismantled at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to make way for a water park. Six Flags Great America already has numerous other roller coasters and thrill rides. Village Administrator Jim Hayner announced the change of plans for Six Flags at Monday night's Village Board meeting. The company had applied for a zoning variance to accommodate the new roller coaster. "Mr. Salami called and requested that we pull his roller coaster zoning request off tonight's agenda," Hayner said. The proposal was dropped with no indication that it would return for further consideration at some later time. Trustees had expected to vote on the proposed variation Monday night. Approval was necessary to install the new ride. The Zoning Board of Appeals had already approved the proposal earlier. Under a 1980 conditional-use permit that sets zoning controls for the theme park, the proposed permit would have allowed roller coasters up to 151 feet in height, and a zoning variance for any higher structure to a maximum 310 feet in height. The new roller coaster was planned to replace the Space Shuttle ride in the Space Port area. It would have been located east of the main park entrance, south of the 310-foot Sky Trek Tower, and west of Hurricane Harbor water park.

^Looks like I miss out on all the fun.

^I'm having one right now!!!! Wait, I thought the park cancelled their presentiation at tonight's meeting? As much as I would like Greezed Lightning to come back (heck we can call it Deja Vu ) it's just not possible. We really don't have the room for any new coaster unless a much smaller one is built. It would be nice to see new flat rides or even go through with the HH expansion. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks guys! I'm sad to announce that this is the last update of the trip. But don't worry, I was saving the best for last! It's time for the choo choo train! I failed to take a picture of it, but at least I got the sign. The train takes you out in the middle of nowhere. See? It's a really long ride too. More farmland. I don't know if this is owned by the park, or if they rent it all from local farmers. Along the route you'll see some sheep..... some cows..... a bull..... a zebra!?! Too cute. I'm not sure if this is a llama or an alpaca. You decide. Well that's all I wrote! Thanks to Jeremie, Gavin, Jon, Jon's mom and Little Amerricka for a fun day!! I'll see you again soon! -

Hi everyone! I'm back! Well I didn't go anywhere, nor did I forget about you. This week has been strange. I haven't been busy at work, but I've been busy after work. Trust me, if I could have done the updates at work, I would have. I think they frown upon that sort of thing. Anyway, here are the last few installments of the report. But first a special thank you to everyone who has read or commented on this report. I have to admit I was a little nervous about posting it. Since I have had such positive and helpful remarks from everyone (including a little front page love), you will be seeing more reports from me in the future. Oh and one more thing, Little Amerricka is only an hour away from Wisconsin Dells, so if you're spending a few days there, take the time to make the trip to Little Amerricka. You won't be disappointed. Ok, shameless plug done. Onto pictures. Bumper boat time! I have a feeling the boys were ganging up on someone. Jon!! Jeremie is after you! Run....er I mean..Drive!!! I'm gonna getcha! Mario has since retired from his video game franchise and is now working at Little Amerricka. Please go visit him. Let's see what else is in the park. Ferris wheel? Check. Nice overview of the park. It includes a better picture of what I'm now calling "Mario Tilt a Whirl". This park has something for everyone. It also includes a little play area for kids. Oh look! Another credit means more POV! Oh and all pictures and video were taken with permission. I'm not sure if you can see it, but Gavin is in pain in the picture. He's doing a good job of hiding it. This ride was smoother than Mad Mouse (which we'll get to next!!) Here is Mad Mouse. It's a fun yet painful ride. But it looks sexy. Did I mention it was painful? Hi Jeremie! Having fun yet? I wasn't focused while taking this picture. Oh that is a much better picture. And one last view of the ride before heading to our next adventure. -

Yeah that's why I only rode some of them once. I can ride Meteor over and over again. I can't wait until they build the log ride. Jon also mentioned that they purchased another coaster. They have a model of it in a display case, but I failed to take a picture of it. I also failed to post more pictures tonight. I apologize for the delay. My computer decided to have technical difficulties when I tried to post them. Oh well. I'll try again tomorrow. -

I've noticed that the park is only open 12-6, which is more than enough time to do everything. When you go, make sure to take the train ride. It's really amazing, and it's probably one of the longest rides I've been on. I don't know if the park owns all that land, or if they rent some of it from local farmers. I'll be putting up more pictures later tonight. I do have some from the train ride and will include those as well. EDIT: Larry I'm glad we were able to help you out with the park index. After looking at the pictures Jon took, I'm scared to go in. That teddy bear looks like DEATH!
