American Dream hasn't opened yet...the jury's still out as to when/if it will ever open, and then how long before it closes down. But yeah, on topic this seems awesome (though not enough to get me to travel to and spend tourism dollars in a country that criminalizes LGBT-ism to the point of execution) if it ever happens. That rendering was so unrealistic (seriously no banking on 99% of turns) it makes me think someone hacked the Six Flags website to post the entire announcement.

Wouldn't be the first time. Chiller at SFGAdv originally opened for like a week in '97, then closed for the rest of the year, and they advertised it again as their "New for '98!" attraction.

Not sure about an activation deadline, but I can say that it doesn't matter which park you buy the Platinum pass through, you can activate it at any CF park.

Having experienced Grand Carnivale at KD this past summer, I can say that sadly it is not.

Can't tell if serious or not... Aside from Dollywood, their parks don't seem to have been doing much in the past 15 years. Dollywood -Added a bunch of flats and a kiddie coaster in 2019. -Added a flat and kiddie coaster in 2017 -Added a coaster in 2016 -Added a flat in 2011 -Added a bunch of flats in 2005 Silver Dollar City -Added coasters in 2018, 2013, 2006, and 2001 -Renovated rapids ride in 2020 -Added flats sporadically over the past 15 years Wild Adventures (owned since 2007) -Removed two kiddie coasters -Added and removed a traveling fair roller coaster -Removed Mystery Mine -Added 2 flats in 2010 -Added 2 flat in 2013 -Added 1 flat in 2015 -Nothing since

I'm calling dueling interlocking super loops. Six Flags considers them coasters, remember.

For the record, there is nothing to indicate that CP is changing to a membership model. All they said was that existing auto-renewals will not auto-renew for 2020. This could be caused by something as simple as a deletion of a word in the terms of service.

I have noticed too that SFOG is the only park (I am aware of) that goes to such great lengths to require riders to make arrangements for loose articles other than drink bottles. Ride ops will hold up the entire train dispatch to wait for a rider to claim a ball cap left harmlessly on top of their drink cup. Of course loose articles can be left with a non-rider but the money grab hope is you will pay for "personal storage" - and the park is willing to foster bad will to achieve that extra revenue. Again, this seems unique to this park. When I travel with my friends to other SF parks, this is a non-issue. Great Adventure is worse, trust me.

Yes, SF does own LaRonde (maybe not the land it's on, but definitely all the rides): While it does not own DL: Anyway, if you are convinced that SF is going to invest in this park, give it time. Trains and other things take time to be built, so for all we know SF has already ordered two brand spankin' new trains for Ride of Steel from Inatmin and are just waiting on delivery. Realistically, that hasn't happened, but this is the thread of ridiculous hopes and dreams, so why not.

You see how the switchbacks aren't in use in your first picture? When they're full, and the line still extends out the entrance, then you'll have a right to complain. And screw you for making me contribute to making this thread longer.

Well in the past i’d cut them some slack, but now with Six Flags’s large sums of money along with prices of everything jacked up this year (20 dollar parking, and don’t forget the line-slowing fast passes), there’s no excuse anymore, especially with larger attendance numbers than in years past. I’ve never heard this many gp even starting to realize just how pathetic the park is lately. Every line you hear constant complaints from everybody about how often things are broken, or how slow the lines move here. They need to do something about it. No, they don't. Darien Lake's core customer base doesn't have anywhere else to go, so the park will continue to suck, no matter how much money is behind it. Also, Six Flags doesn't own this place....they just operate it. There's a limit to how much they're willing to invest, which is what I called way back when the "return to Six Flags" was announced. Obviously if the park is as busy as you say, that's good for them financially, not an indicator of people getting fed up and not going. Besides, 45 minutes or an hour is not a "super long line."

They are generally very rough, have jarring transitions through the cobra roll (the double-inversion where the train changes direction) causing severe head-banging when equipped with the traditional Vekoma/Arrow trains, are over quite quickly, and there are dozens of them in the US so they get kinda old. Part of the problem is that most of the world has coasters from other manufacturers to compare to...B&M, Intimin, RMC, GCI, etc, and by comparison most Vekoma coasters have the above described problems while the other coasters do not. I too think that Boomerangs tend to get a bad rap, but it is mostly deserved. Aside from ones that get maintained by unnatural spirits and have maintained their smoothness (the one at Morey's Piers, for example) or ones that have the newer vest restraint trains, most are unbearable pain machines. Looking at Fantasilandia's website, it looks like your Boomerang does have those new-style vest restraints on the trains, so yeah, it's totally reasonable to enjoy it.

I can 110% guarantee that it gets changed, unless the park entered into some sort of an agreement and JK Rowling is getting a cut.

Anaconda: The front row of any car, as close to the front as you can get. Woodstock: Very back row. The Eiffel Tower really takes as long as you want...they don't kick you out at any point, so if you stay at the top for 5 minutes or 5 hours it really doesn't matter. The line should be short at various points throughout the day.

Definitely digging the Dreamcast-era graphics on the trailer LOL.

Your plan might be doable without a FL+, it will all depend on crowds. My friend and I went on Friday 7/12 which had similar weather forecast to this coming Friday, and found crowds to be pretty light; we didn't need to get the Fast Lane passes and we did everything in the park even with taking several hours in the waterpark and and two hour break at the hotel in the middle of the day. As for particular ride tips: -TT in the very front or very back. You should be able to try both. -Same for I305. -Grizzly in the very front. -Dominator in the very back. I prefer the inner seats, they seem to have less of that B&M rattle. -Rebel Yell on a non-wheel seat (the middle row of any car). It's pretty smooth though since all of the retracking that's been done. -Avalanche in the very front. I'd knock this out first upon arrival since the line tends to move slow due to only holding 7-14 people per train. I'd also not skip Flight of Fear (very back row) if you have time. Delirium is a pretty good frisbee if you're into those kinda rides. Have fun. I consider KD my home park even though I've got SFA, SFGAdv, and Hershey closer to me.

I think we already know it's going to be some sort of water park expansion/addition, based on the closing of the rear wave pool and previous statements indicating that something new is going there.
