Millennium Force Cable
slither37 replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, I would hope that CP has this up and running for Coastermania. It was scheduled for 2 hours of ERT Sat.morning. Here's hoping..... -
Every member of a coaster club can bring one guest. So if you change your mind and want to go to a day of Coastermania, you could be mine and my daughter's 2nd guest. The just announced ERT schedule: Friday, June 5 * (10:15 - 11:15 p.m.) Magnum XL-200 & Skyhawk * (11:00 p.m. - Midnight) Maverick Saturday, June 6 * (6:00 - 8:00 a.m.) Millennium Force * (7:00 - 9:00 a.m.) Top Thrill Dragster & Power Tower * (11:15 p.m. - 12:15 a.m.) maXair & Blue Streak * (11:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.) Raptor 2hours on MF and 2 hours on Dragster sounds great. Too bad I have not figured out a way of splitting myself in two to get the entire two hours on each. One thing that I think could be done better: Why not have Maverick and Skyhawk ERT together? And then Magnum and TTD? Sure would cut down on some walking, and from past experience, I know I am dragging for the night time ERT, but this year will be there for it all, Raptor until 12:30!

Eltoro... are you going to CP for Coastermania? If you need the credits for corkscrew and MS, ride them, I would say the pain should be minimal and worth the credit. Having said that, there are 3 coasters at CP that I no longer ride; corkscrew, MS and Mantis, except on the very rare occasion I am there with someone who needs the credits. Mixed somewhat on Son of Beast. My spine still has memories of riding that. The last time I rode this was when the loop was there, and based on what I have heard, it is still bad. Spent a great morning at KI with Big Mike, Craig, James and Gage. Thanks and look forward to riding some more with Craig and Gage at Coastermania.Wait until you all see the pics of Mike credit whoring on Little Bills Giggle Coaster.

you tube has some vids of Blue Flash and Blue too. I would not be able to ride Flash. Congrats on the rare credits today all who got them. Will be there at 9, well more like 830 to ride Diamondback with Mike. I was with him on his 600th last year. What will Diamondback be for you Mike? Sorry, will not partake in the Firehawk credit. last time I rode it, my arm decided it did not like the shoulder joint and popped out. I DID get the first aid cart credit though, not too proud of that one. Oh and some really good morphine on the way to the ER.

Cedar Point TR: Opening Day 2009
slither37 replied to TopThrill182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Correct, just a minor hassle when it does not scan at the gate. I have seen Dorney passes be a problem at KI and CP. You will get in, you just have to go to guest relations and get a pass to get in, then go through the line. I would have thought that Cedar Fair has had enough time to get this all worked out I am going to KI tomorrow, now that I have changed my pass to a CP platinum, I wonder if I will have trouble getting in KI like I did at CP. -

I completely agree, and I showed my displeasure to one of the park ops. I was rather upset and asked why I spent the money only to be inconvenienced. Yes it seems trivial, but my thought was that Cedar Fair has had 2 years to work these bugs out. I did get a walk back through the exit of MF for my trouble, so I missed 1.5 hour wait for it. -

I believe you may have to go to the guest services door at CP and KI. This does not take too long, although no one shows up there until 9am, which is the start of the morning ERT. I do not know who I ran into, but I did speak with someone at the front gate that was wearing a TPR WCB 2009 shirt. -

I was there as well, and only problem I had was that my Platinum Pass that I had processed at KI was not working. Of course I did not know this until 9am. So half an hour later, I am was back riding, but still a delay then and then I chose to get the KI pass changed into the Cedar Point pass which required a wait. One other thing new is the unlimited soft drink wristband. I tried 2 times to buy one for both my daughter and me, and apparently there were issues with he printer or something. Finally bought it, 9.00 per. Now when you go to any place to get a drink, you will get soda in the same size cup that water is given in. This is kind of aggravating, but you can just walk to the next stand and get another and another and another. I am sure that I got value out of mine. -
I am the person to whom you were referring. I also saw Craig (Iggyace) there as well and his family. Fantastic pictures on the TR. Was a fun day.

Was there last October. I love this park. You mentioned the benches, are other AB things going away such as the Clyesdales. I think my daughter liked the horses as much as the coasters, every time we were close by, we had to stop. Last year I was able to use retired AB employee tickets, hopefully will get them again this year as well, but do not know if that will happen. Great TR, like seeing and hearing about this beautiful park. -
Ride Warrior Event at Kings Island
slither37 replied to gotdane's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like some great ERT this weekend at KI. Anyone else going? I will be there wearing a TPR shirt, if you see me, please say hey. Thanks to the mods for putting this in the previous thread. My apologies for not doing a proper search. -
Not sure about Falafel, but know I want to go to both places so far. But I will say yes to the first for her and nay on the second.

Great TR! Going this saturday to KI for Ride Warriors. As a long time Beast fan, I must agree with what Guy said earlier on, Beast is well past its prime. I rode this opening year when I was 9, was the greatest. I remember the pond you went over after boarding and before the lift hill, the themeing was pretty cool. Then the rush to get in line at the end of the day at just the right time....Great memories, but there are days now when I am at KI that I do not ride it, although I have heard that it is somewhat smoother. Also must agree with the review of Firehawk, the first and only time I rode this, my humerus decided to become detached from the nice cozy socket it usually sits in at the shoulder. It came out as I assumed the superman pose and banked to the right after the first drop. ouch. Not fun going through the ride with my arm flopping around. ouch. But at least I go the rare first aid golf cart thingy credit. And later morphine! I also am looking forward to how the blacktop has been removed and replaced with pavers. The area around the new Beast entrance in your photos looks very nice as well as the entrance area to Diamondback. Looking forward to seeing all the spruce ups that have been done. Thanks for the TR, very good.

Cedar Point & Kings Island

The road to the back of the park is to the left, the MF side. -

Anyone can park in the back of the park, to to the far left toll booth and tell them that want to park in the back. I usually do park back there. I believe there is at least one restaurant serving breakfast back there, Sandcastle Suites maybe? Kind of a cool drive around the park, -

When you go through the booths where they collect for parking tell them you want to park in th eback, sometimes you will be given a paper to put on your dash sometimes not, go to the left and the road goes all the way back around the park until you end up next to gemini which is where I usually park. Walk under the lift hill of magnum and then entrance is right there. Oh no way, maverick from the front at 9? you will get there for one ridge before the park opens. It is still a little hike from the magnum entrance, but not nearly as far as the front gate. -

You have a good plan, on the weekends, I will go to Maverick, MF get a ride on each and then to Raptor which I can usually get to just before the crowds are let in. Then right after Raptor I go to Wicked Twister and can usually get 2 or 3 rides on it without a wait at that time. Then to Magnum/gemini then I will go ride Skyhawk, yes, purposefully avoiding Mean Streak. As far as food in Sandusky, I see someone already mentioned Beradis. Very good food. Remember to park in the back of the park to get to Maverick. -

Hmmm what do I look forward to? Other than just the sheer joy of watching football, not a whole lot from the Raiders. To make it worse, the NFL has put the Raiders on few national games, and even on Thanksgiving this year????? Adding insult to injury.... I am sure that all my Thanksgiving goodies will not be digesting very well that day, in fact watching this Raider team play may induce some reverse gastrointestinal events. -

Unfortunately, the owner of my team IS Al Davis. WTH?????? Are these the voices Al hears inside his head? Hmmm, lets see we suck.. what else can i do, before draft day to screw things up even more.... Oh yeah, i got it, a QB controversy!. Oh, now on to draft day... Lets see, we are drafting 7th, I bet I can make the 2 worst possible picks in the first 2 rounds.... Yes! I did it!!!! It is hard, very hard to be a Raider fan. But I remain a fan. -

Cool, if you go to get your Diamondback credit this year, please post ahead of time. Will buy you dinner at a classic Cincinnati landmark. Which just recently opened in Columbus too. Yum. Great TR, all I can think about looking at the pics on the cruise is the hours I would also be spending on the treadmill. -

I guess this year I better not make any negative comments about ID or MS at CP since I got the smackdown last year?
