Steel Force Why do 50% of hypers have the word "steel" in their name? How lame -

Well, you can't say that this totally blindsided the coaster world, considering they did this just a couple months ago. Anyway, from a KD local's perspective, I would be happy to get a new ride, but I really was hoping KD would finally get something origional after all these years. And why make this a parking lot coaster if they have over 100 acres sitting back there covered with trees. We all know C-F isn't scared to cut down trees anyway....... -

Nice TR with good pics! Lake Winnie is an intriguing park to me primarily because of the old boat chute. -

^Yep, that is supposed to be a pretty good ride. When it was called BMRX in Japan, it was one of the highest rated Schwarzkopfs in the Hawker poll. Anyways, my last ride was Italian Job Coaster/Street Chase/ Stunt Man/ Turbo/Turbo Boost - whatever the heck they finally decided on. -

The ride really does look amazing. It will be so much longer than all the other Intamin pre-fab.s, so that means even more crazy Intamin ejector air. Also, it clearly looks to have the best location of any of the pre-fab.s. -

Very cool, you guys got to ride a brand new coaster I had never even heard about! I really like junior woodens and think they should be more popular than they are. -

Pretty large update for someone seeing penguins...... Indiana Beach is such an intriguing park-right next to the water with all those highly ranked coasters jammed into it. I had a chance to go last year, but settled fro SFKK. -
EGF still looks like the best Intamin hyper to me, and probably the best hyper period! Outstanding video, guys, this site really knows how to keep their readers happy. Easily the best POV footage I have found throughout the internet. I know the twists on rides like EGF and Millie Force are probably really good (haven't ridden either), but I still really want to see Intamin come out with a hypercoaster with a true out&back layout like Apollo's Chariot, Goliath La Ronde, or one of the Morgan's. That to me, may be the ultimate steel coaster that technology can develop at the present time.

I kind of find that funny. That's the way it was for me for years as well. But finally, my parents say I'm old enough to do my own thing, and allow me to have about 5-10 park days a year---more if I could afford it of course!

Amazing water slides
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Currently, my favorite waterslide is a half-enclosed tube slide at SFA called Mako. I haven't been on many, and I'm sure there are much better slides elsewhere. I love the "airtime-" if that's what you call it on a waterslide- you get a couple times on it. -
Great trip reports with a lot of detail! I don't want to start up a big Voyage debate, but I can see why there are many people that don't exactly love it. It looks like it could get slightly rough, but then it also looks like it has an insane layout with airtime all over the place. It is still my number one best looking "new school" wooden, but I will have to experience it for myself before I judge it too much.

I agree that the POV doesn't do Furius Baco justice. The layout does look boring as hell. Still, it is tops of my 2007 coasters that I want to ride. I really, really did like the video though. The off ride views actually looked better than the on-ride ones. I've always felt that any launch just isn't done any justice on film!

Pay For A Map?
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to dave1710's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I almost always take a few free maps when I'm done at a park. They make great souvenirs. In fact, they are basically THE only souvenirs I get at parks (because they are free of course). I have never had to pay for a map and don't plan on it. The only place I've missed picking one up was in Busch Garden's Europe this year, as I couldn't find one! It's a good thing I went with two BGE fanboys, because if I didn't I would have been highly mad with BGE and highly lost in there! -
I've ridden Alpengeist, and I don't think it is as good as it "should" be as the world's biggest invert. The ride is basically all about the first drop and the cobra roll. All the other inversions don't seem to do much and the last few turns are just completely slow. It seems almost imposible at that point to think that Alpie is the world's tallest B&M invert! It seems like Katun is usually thought of to be better than Alpie, am I right? It's got to be more intense.

Nice TR and some great pics as well! SFDK looks really nice. That's by far the most I've seen of it in pics. The themeing looks real good, and I can't believe it looks that well after being owned by Six Flags all this time!
