  1. Just remembered, the first time I ever went on Sheikra at Busch Gardens. It was my first dive coaster, the ascent to the top of the lift hill, the turn around and the journey to the break pads felt like it would go on forever. I genuinely hadn't been so scared on a coaster before, the fear and apprehension was SO intense actually. Genuinely thought if my restraint popped up a bit, that would be me gone... totally irrational I know but, wow, what an experience.
  2. More than likely, the toot they do/ make up to get some publicity is fantastic.
  3. Mine would be the time that one of the first times I went on River Adventure at IOA, much like the story before, I was in a boat with some really big family and being the really thin guy I am, the lap bar was pretty darn far away. I ended up freaking out and hugging it both sides for dear life to avoid 'flying out' (what I thought would happen at the time) parents thought it was a pretty amusing ride photo because my face was just white with fear eyes closed and everything haha. (Do bear in mind that I would have been... 12 - 13 at the time?) Yeah, that was nerve wracking.
  4. ^ I concur with above, I was thinking, maybe the could put in a duelling race coaster like at Ferrari World...? Put in some good themeing, maybe a launch to make it 'thrilling' and yeah, I wouldn't be too horrified at that prospect unlike like the idea of further Potterization
  5. Very upset at this announcement, I make sure every time I go I visit the attraction as it's just... Universal Studios to me. I'll also miss the varying quality of the skippers, I somewhat think the rides best when they really really under-do the fear aspect, it's great Regarding what is coming in place of it... I really hope it's not a transformers copy, we already have Spiderman, surely that's good enough... plus we have enough indoor rides already at UO, right? It kind of feels like they are taking away some of the soul of the park, it's like getting rid of Pirates of the Carribbean at MK, it's just not right
  6. I'm genuinely impressed by this, could be the most impressive wingrider yet. May just have to endure the pain that is the Thorpe Park crowds and go check it out when it's open.
  7. Can I just put say, I understand (read in the sentinel) the Vans location is closing because the owners of Festival Bay did not offer another term to rent... I understand they are more or less levelling most of the place to then turn it into another outlet, right? Anyway, back to Fun Spot, it's going to be a "HUGE!!" expansion, I really hope it's a success.
  8. hahaha that video is trolling at it's best. I actually laughed out loud at that.
  9. Oh certainly Rob, I wasn't really suggesting it was one way or another, just mentioning what RCDB have put up as no-one else had. For some strange reason, I'm getting really excited about what actually IS announced now.
  10. Can I just say, on RCDB, they have a "wooden coaster" under construction with the manufacturer being GCI... Am I right in saying they usually put down something like this if they KNOW it's confirmed? In which case, we might just well be getting a Big Fun coaster (one speculates!!) Source here...
  11. As a super geek, they have an inverted B&M Track in the backround instead of the Zierer track.
  12. Hi everyone, first time doing this so, sorry if the format is all wrong and all. Got some cool news announced about the Funspot waterpark. The Logo and park-map have been released, it looks great so far. The Original Source... Sorry If i'm violating the T&C's of the forum, I just thought referencing would be fair really, I can't seem to find this information elsewhere, atleast this is the case at time of posting. I'm not advertising about them, I swear
  13. This... may amaze people but, I have never been on a boomerang coaster before so, the idea of one possibly is quite interesting... bad I know. I think it would fit pretty well for the park, I hope the new additions are good for the park, I think Old Town and Fun Spots new investments are great for the City, something different than the big 3 companies so, good on them.
  14. I hope they get a 'big fun' coaster, would be a great addition actually. Nothing springs to mind of a wooden coaster in the area (except Legoland) so, a pay as you ride one could just fit the bill, I know I'd look to go on it.
  15. I remember once at IOA was in the winding tunnels of 'Duelling Dragons' yes, this was BEFORE the potterization and ruining of the themeing. It was a coupl'a hours (quite a long time back then I suppose) which, isn't so bad but, we were stuck next to a massive school group of Spanish kids, they would NOT stop screaming at the skulls, bangs and such and winding each other up the ENTIRE TIME... Yeah that was tough not losing my cool and leaving, so horrendous.
  16. Currently in the UK but should be back in the sunshine state in January for a bit, will then be back for the summer. (I hope this isn't breaking the 'must be local' rule as I am across the pond right now... I hate to break rules, especially on my favourite coaster site! ) Would be real awesome to meet up sometime, also a non driver here but, I'm sure I could swindle a lift from the parents or something haha. A question though, what made the change of location? Good choice though!
  17. Just noticed on TPR's youtube video of Expedition Everest ride at AK, someone commented: "was that the Orlando one?"
  18. Was at Thorpe Park many years ago when I was probably 14 yrs-ish on a school trip, did such an epic run of coaster after coaster, forgot to eat and got sunstroke as it was of the very few days we got sun that year... ended up throwing up all over myself infront of the girl I fancied at the time, this being said I did get to buy a cool Thorpe Park shirt for £20 though and got a sympathy hug on the coach home...
  19. That video teaser. wow. I know i'll probably never be able to afford to go but just...
  20. I'm... pretty sure there was a news article about some guy having one already under his skin ? If I recall he was to do with the team inventing it or something, can't find it for the life of me, I just remember it was scanned and it had his blood type and name come up, kinda like one of those chips you put in pets... Anyway, back on track it's all just a fascinating concept, can see some real potential here. Will also wait to see if they use NFC technology at parks when it becomes more widespread, the whole thing could be brilliant if it's used to it's full potential!
  21. That element of the racing woodie... woah When I saw the concept I was impressed, in real life, that just looks insane.
  22. Wow! They look great! Something new and out there, I suppose rather fitting for EPCOT. I hope they are a success, look like could be much faster if people know how to use them, could be a bit messy though if something goes wrong though, something to keep an eye on there.
  23. That coaster video is just... wow. Chinese parks are just so fascinating to me, so much wrong yet, awesome about them, especially the blatant copyright infringement Also those bricks just being strewn across the walkways... also wow. The Disney'esk castle and the IOA style Poseidens fury are a highlight of mine personally Great TRs, I look forward to the next update!!
  24. Is it just me or, does it look like it kinks inwards halfway down that first drop? Maybe it's just an illusion but... wow that look fierce
  25. Oh dear, not nice to see a park being abandoned in front of your eyes...
