No luck at all, I forgot the no open shoes rule and since I was wearing flip-flops I was turned away at the gate
I also had no idea a fire had taken out part of the boardwalk back in March, was quite the suprise when I got there.
I did get a new avatar out of the trip
I'd go as far as to say Pirate Funhouse might be the best walk through funhouse remaining in the US.
I too was not impressed with the Arabian walkthrough.
No arguments about the Pirate Funhouse its great, but I also think the Arabian funhouse is great.
I am VERY surprised in this sue happy world that either funhouse is still open. I am heading over there in a few hours, I'm going to try to get some interior shots.
Great trip report. I enjoy Ocean City, and go a couple a times a year - in fact I will be there Saturday.
No pictures could ever show just how many rides are cramed into such a small space, it still amazes me. I also agree that Trimper's is the best.
I was also there Saturday, the park was the most crowded I have seen in a while.
When traffic is backed up onto I-64 just to park, you know you in for a busy day.
^agree. Depending on where you are staying in Williamsburg, Kings Dominion isn't really that close.
I feel Busch is superior, and since your right in Williamsburg you would be able to spend more time there.
Yikes, 40 - 45 minute wait for Griffion on a Hallow-scream Sunday? I was going this Sunday in hopes to get some more rides on it before the end of the season.
In years past, October Sunday's most of the rides were walk on. Did the crowd get worse or better as evening approached?
Nice trip report, when you came down Rt 13 through Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, you passed by my house.
I haven't been to Ocean City yet this year, so I must ask did you skip the Tidal Wave or is it not there anymore? I have also heard that a lot of the Trimper rides are not running this year due to the possibility of the closure.
I am about an hour and a half east of Bush Gardens Europe and also about and hour and a half south of Ocean City MD.
I don't know if Ocean City qualifies as a theme park, but they do have a ton of rides (for now)
7/17 Busch Gardens Europe in this order:
Apollo's Chariot, Big Bad Wolf, Alpegeist, Griffion, Lockness Monster, Griffion, Griffion, Griffion, and after dark Griffion
(yea Griffion)
This was the worst theme park related news I heard in a long time (second only to the Fiesta Fun Center closing at the Contemporary @ WDW) Ocean City is less than an hour away from me, so I travel there several times every summer. I have never been to a park with such a varried collection of flat rides, some dating back 75+ years. Not to metion the three Tracey dark rides.
The problem Trimper's is having, is taxes on their property. It is my understanding that the property taxes have more than tripled over the past few years. They are currently tring to get some tax breaks based on historic property and the such.
I plan on visiting the park/ parks sometime in June and will use the visit as my first Photo Trip report. If you have never seen Trimpers, you will be impressed.
Loved the pictures, I haven't been to KD for years might be time to head back.
Question - what was the drive time between KD and Six Flags? I am planning a multiple park trip, and trying to decide rather to go North or South from BGE
Thanks
It looks to me you only win single day entrance to the park, assuming your not a passholder.
And the rules state you can only enter once, but one is all it takes
