Great trip report. After seeing the weather forecast I decided to sit this one out. It does always seem to fall on the coldest day of the year, it was last year or the year before it was so cold we left before the fireworks.

Funny this topic just came back up, I too saw them this past weekend. When I upgraded to HD with Direct TV, I got a channel called HD-net, and this past weekend they were running Top 10 extreme rides, it was old. As I shouted at the TV, my wife just rolled her eyes.

I thought it was for shade while your waiting for the cars in front of you to load/ unload. - but the shield for falling objects is a good idea too

OK here are my guesses: 1- Dale Jarrett 2 - David Reutimann 3 - Dale Earnhart Jr. I am picking NASCAR drivers because I am 99% sure the drivers were in New York City for the awards banquet. I am also 99% sure I read somewhere through the past 208 pages that Big Mike works for UPS, so I picked a past and present UPS driver.

I saw it, and that was the first thing I thought. Great trip report Big Mike and great pictures taken from the ferris wheel. I really wanted to meet you guys there; but, when I saw the date I knew I had better be somewhere else.... That was the day my daughter was born...

I saw the show and thought the concept was kinda neat; but, I think capacity would be a big issue. One of the reasons they made it in the first place was because waterslides offered too short of a ride. The test version was something like 3 1/2 minutes. So it would seem that in a real world setting they would shorten the ride time to deal with capacity issues, so in the end why not ride a real waterslide. Also, when I saw the screen problems they were having I thought of the water curtain idea (like in POTC ) I think they couldn't use it because the screen had to be on an angle on the curved surface in front of a rider. I am pretty sure the water curtains are a 90 degree only thing. I'll still take one for my backyard.

That is strange that the clubs have closed. I always hit them up a few times a year, just to see what was new. They had the Bud Lime almost a year before it came out. (I said MMMmmmm Beer) I know they are going ahead with the Bud & BBQ party in early 2009, featuring .38 Special and the Oak Ridge Boys. I guess they could drop the "Bud" if they had too.

Great trip report. I also have been going to Hallow Scream for 10 years now, and have to say it just keeps getting better. I have been twice this year - once with family, once without. I did the Escape from Pompeii maze early in the day, and it can still be scary even with the lights on, just ask my 4 year old son. "Family friendly" meant the actors were not there and the lights were on BUT all effects were on, so it was a little scary for him. I have never been to another theme park's haunt (except for Disney) so I don't know what kind of effects they have. The new haunt by Roman Rapids had the best effect I have ever seen - the trick wall. Our group was going through a dark hallway, and I guess the wall rotates as you pass - the next thing I knew I was alone. It was really neat how they pull it off, you don't rejoin your group for about 20 yards down the hall. Just great.

Good report, I found it very interesting to see inside the Crown Building - I ride by there a lot. The Relay for Life events are REALLY big down here also, of course we do not have an indoor arena to move to if it rains, so its always rain or shine. It has rained in years past.

I am excited for this new land, especially for my son who has "outgrown" the kiddie rides at Land of the Dragons. I hope these rides are aimed at the elementary school crowd and not the toddlers. Now I need to get my son to start watching Sesame Street over the winter so he might look foward to meeting Elmo or Big Bird.

I saw my frist Dippin' Dots vending machine this weekend in the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg - pretty impresive.

Great pictures of Great Wolf, I am staying the Questmaster suite the weekend of the 19th. I have never been to Great Wolf before and I am really looking foward to it. Of course my son (4 yrs old) has been 5 times with various grandparents and such.

Got 4 stitches in my head from the one in Ocean City MD when I was 18. I guess I was too tall to be on it. When the car came off the lift, I hit my head on the cage and split it open.

You missed the importance of that very spot as you flew past it. That spot is the EXACT halfway point between the entrace to inlet at Ocean City and the Parking Booths at Bush Gardens Williamsburg. Also, its EXACTLY 800 miles from that intersection to the main gate of Walt Disney World.
