  1. This goes hand in hand with what Screamscape posted way back in April:
  2. lol, nah, this is Germany, money is cheap and they have a 10 year plan to change the park. I am sure some bank will gladly loan them money for whatever they want to do. On this particular project the attention to detail is really stunning. You dont see this that often anymore. Phantasialand could probably open this ride now, especially considering that it is hot as hell there currently, but no, they work on the little things and want to make sure that when everything is done, it will open.
  3. Chiapas is still not open, but the theming to this ride is truely Disney quality... New artwork from the inside of the ride My guess would be the ride to open sometime in August
  4. Excellent pictures! Can not wait for more
  5. Did you really drove from third street promenade to the pier? lol, you are young, could have walked that in 5 minutes!!! Great report!
  6. This is exactly why I have a love/hate relationship with this thread. SFMM is anouncing a ride for the summer, manage to open it the first day of Summer(FIRST DAY!). Of course all is not finished, but if the park would have delayed the ride, everyone here would say TYPICAL SFMM and keep on bitching. Maybe because I am from Europe, but I see all this a little more relaxed. Sometimes parks open there coasters for the fans(like Krake two years ago or Karacho/Trippsdill this year) and add additional theming during the off season. I dont know what the big deal is, we already know Ozzy Osborne is eventually screaming in the tunnel. It will happen and I think the park is doing pretty good in the past couple of years updating there infrastructure with every new addition.
  7. The L.A.Times liked it aswell. The reviewer summed it up like most of us here: "I must admit I had low expectations for Full Throttle, but Magic Mountain's newest roller coaster is a book you shouldn’t judge by its cover." You can read the entire review @ http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/themeparks/la-trb-full-throttle-six-flags-magic-mountain-06232013,0,4236262.story
  8. Woo Hoo! I know Tony Mc Ewing is a happy, preppy person now!
  9. The ride is officially opening TOMORROW, so nobody from the general public was going to the park today and expecting to be able to ride the coaster. It sucks for Media Day though and I am not sure who to blame here. They just need to wait for an e-mail from a person that might comes late to work today. It goes with constructions that the park might got all the permits/certifications at the beginning of the week, but Sacramento works sometimes slower as one would think. We dont know what is going on, so before the SFMM bashing(which happens here anyway)beginns, I rather hope that before the end of the day the ride will be running with happy people...
  10. The ride looks awsome (and like someone mentioned earlier "cute" aka perfect for this park), but the last video almost gave me a seizure, what's up with all the black screens ?!?! There was more of that compared to actual footage of the ride. I am all for being creative, but if you only have 30 seconds of material, there is no need to stretch it out to 2.15 minutes
  11. I know you are only 16, but never say you can not do anything. Traveling is one of the perks we have in this World. Plenty of flights going to Europe each and every day. You might can not do it now, but change your mindset a little because if you want to go, you actually really can with just a summerjob, saving some $ and go from there.... That said, cool trains and I can not wait to check out this coaster!
  12. OMG, this portable version looks like so much fun! Hope we will see this at a German Fair sometimes in the future..
  13. Great Pictures! I love Germany and I love beer, so this is a picture perfect tripreport for me
  14. Can not wait for Chiapas as this has the potential to be one of the best waterrides in the World
  15. Its looks like a shorter launch, so faster exceleration? I would assume so But its MM, can you use intense as a word to describe one of their coasters? X2, Tatsu Brezel-loop, Goliath Blackout Helix... Dont think Magic Mountain is a park that is afraid of intense ride elements
  16. There are around 3 million people visiting Magic Mountain vs. 300 people posting in this thread that are mobbing the park. So please take everything into consideration...
  17. Stranger things have happend, heck, Knotts and New York/New York Casino went with Togo in the 1990's
  18. This is such a great and detailed tripreport. Really looking forward to the rest.
  19. It probably has to do with transportation costs as the U.S. is slightly(lol) bigger when compared to Germany
  20. I speak a little German, so the info I got out of it: This is at Europa Park, there was a bike event at the park, he said that he sneaked on the ride but that the park was closed(probably just closed). How he made it on there and if he got caught, who knows...
  21. The lake is of course filled with beer!
  22. This is a legit question, but at this point does capacity at Magic Mountain really matter? They average 2.8-3 Million visitors, Full Throttle wont change that. Basically this ride will add capacity to the park. With 18 coasters and how big the park is, the only time you will wait a couple of hours will be in the first months of the ride opening. Look at all the "capacity talk" about Lex Luther, even when the park is packed the line is mostly just an hour. Same will happen with this ride. People just wait for as long as they think it is worth the wait, if they see a line that says 2 hours and they dont think it is worth it, they just move on to the next ride
  23. Excellent addition to the park. Can not wait to ride it. Just wanted to get this in before all the complainers wake up
  24. I just read the best quote on FB
