  1. It's a race to see what happens first. Legoland Korea is still the favorite to beat American Dream How does American Dream stack up against the dirt down the road that is Universal Studios Korea?
  2. Hey Larry it seems Legoland Korea will be 2018, can't seem to find too many articles but here is two: http://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/article.aspx?aid=3018738 and http://cphpost.dk/news/business/legoland-parks-around-the-world-thriving.html
  3. I hope they leave that launch alone, I don't think I've experienced another like it and think it may be the sole reason i tolerate return visits to Fuji-Q. From what I've seen on other TR's (anyone else elaborate, I haven't been on them) the new versions in China don't have quite the same punch to them.
  4. The Golden Ticket Award results, that time of the year I remember how much I miss the Mitch Hawker polls.
  5. Well it was a tiny park where I just wanted to experiment so I put one down next to the coaster entrance with an ATM but they still seem to blank the other priority passes for the two flat rides just a tiny bit down the path, seems a bit overkill to have 3 information kiosks if that's what I need.
  6. I feel really stupid but I can never seem to get my priority queue to work. I connect it up at the start of the queue with the entrance and put it right at the end for the exit, give it highest priority and yet even with a full queue I've never seen a guest go down it.
  7. I don't think it's selfish to do that with their own property when they put in so much time and effort for a free service. I think like when the TPR tours stopped due to not wanting to deal with the hassle and stupid people, Robb would be well within his rights if he just decided he was fed up of all the stupid comments that have been appearing lately on the forums and just closed the site and forums the next day. I mean it must take hours of work to moderate and run and although I really love the forums over facebook/twitter, I wouldn't be surprised if social media (outside of the forums)/youtube is where TPR gets the majority of it's hits from overall.
  8. ^ I think it'll look and move different enough that people won't care. Samurai at CWoA on it's installation year was my first ever big flat ride and because it kind of reminds me of a topscan, I've always wanted to try a mondial inferno after seeing it on youtube. I think this and plane on a stick may be the only 2 flats on my bucket list.
  9. When Everland tore their flume ride they thankfully just built a new one on it's spot with a reversing drop and 8 people boats: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1633939 It's a shame, I'd love to see something like Chiapas take it's place. Although looking at previous themed rides, they probably just have it float around demolished strewn about pieces of the old flume and market it as "worlds first apocalyptic flume where you must be over 18 and sign a waiver."
  10. "Please understand our culture" is the phrase I hear thrown around a lot in Asian countries as the excuse for these things or from some-one embarrassed you have seen it. Except Japan. I think in all my trips I've seen literally only one person be crappy and that was a father in DisneySea try and chew out a cast member when he went up single-rider with his young son to avoid the 3 hour line and refused to split up. Although "please understand our culture," is a sentence I'd rather not here in Japan because I love every minute there and trying to make sense of some things you see would just take the magic away.
  11. Been making some room for the babies stuff and found this. My wife and I had completely forgotten about Ocean Park having a bag of rice stuffed toy. At the time we thought it was funny and Jin was so happy when she won it.
  12. Granted the weather has been really hot this year with no rain, but the crowds have been shockingly low this year, would be a great time for people to visit. This was taken on a Saturday during a 3 day holiday weekend (Saturday-Monday) during gold season. Granted the cheapest season passes are on black-out dates during these weekends but the water park was at capacity which means that quite a few people who were in Everland were actually there for free until they could enter the water-park which makes the walk-ons even more shocking. I'll be at the park this weekend, will maybe finally do a TR on stuff that's changed around the park and the new panda exhibit but I'm playing tour guide to my family since it's their first time in Korea and they're mainly here to see their newborn grandson so not sure how much time we will have.
  13. Source I've been living in the area not too far away for almost 7 years now and I think this may be the 4th attempt now to start the project that's then encountered problems since I moved here.
  14. It's a a really minor nitpick but I'd love to see them group the B&M wing-riders to allow launch and chained with this next update and just let you choose the train. It's a bit strange to have 3 on the coaster screen at once (this new one plus the current chain one and launched one). But then again i'd be very happy to see that for a lot of the previous flat rides, have a generic air race or uni-coaster and then a selection option for the theme.
  15. Oh yeah! Quicktime! Let's party like it's Windows 95! As soon as I saw the quicktime file I knew a coasterbill comment was coming.
  16. Sadly, the whole county hasn't had a major coaster since T Express unless you count the Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster that came to Children's Grand Park and even that renewal was at the expense of a looping coaster and an Intamin Gyro Swing. I think the only thrill ride that the country has seen that was aimed at thrill seekers, until this year's very recent Air Race and Discovery 360 at E Land, was Lotte World's Disko. I bring this up because I have had one or two rides where T Express has felt very, very, slightly rougher. I'm not sure if it's because I was using the single rider line or because of the reservation system that used to be in place led to half empty trains which they would dump said isngle riders on, but I've also had rides which have been as great as when I first arrived in Korea. Even the "rough" rides are probably better than 98% of the other coasters I've been on. That's pretty impressive for a coaster that not only runs almost 300 days a year (a month for rehab and then maybe another 30 days or so where the weather goes outside the operating requirements), but does so in one of the busiest parks in the world, where the only other coaster is an arrow looper that mostly runs just 1 train (R.I.P. Eagle's Fortress) so taking the brunt of the crowds with extreme 35C heat in summer and -20C in the winter. Then throw in the fact like I said above there has been nothing new in the 8 years meaning it's still the "signature ride" for the country for people to travel to ride and it's an incredible testament to Intamin that it runs as well as it does.
  17. One of the biggest Korean tv shows just did a show involving Magic Mountain. As a follow-up to their video of eating ramyeon and trying to do make-up on T Express, they had yogurt on X2 and spaghetti on Goliath. It goes pretty much as you'd expect it to go. 18. ^Would make sense considering the air race that came around the same time is also Zamperla.
  19. Just noticed that E-Land (formerly Towerland back when they had the sky jump) has added an air race and a 360 degree frisbee (not sure of the model): http://www.eworld.kr/attraction/03_08.htm This wouldn't be a big deal elsewhere but as I've mentioned in a lot of my TR's so many of the smaller parks around the country have torn out their bigger rides to either not replace them or put in much smaller cheaper to run small family rides and the only coaster to have been installed since T Express in 2008 is a Vekoma Family Suspended in Seoul. Apart from Lotte World's disko a few years back I think these two rides are the only addition I've seen in the 6 years I've been here aimed at thrill seekers and maybe the first new inverting rides I've seen in that time.
  20. Seems like the site will close down very soon according to twitter so play the sims you enjoyed now while you can.
  21. This is how I deal with most posts on the internet these days.
  22. Found a slightly better photo of Championship Rodeo than my previous one since I'm determined to keep the Everland section nice I'll try and visit Children's Grand Park since the whole park has been overhauled and its park index looks quite sad and empty. The folk village with the old intamin coaster has had a few new rides and doesn't have a page so I will try and work that in sometime if I can get some free-time. Both have been on my to-do list but having a new-born eats up most of my weeekends.
  23. Sorry if this is too off-topic but what about a 360 degree video discussion thread? With so many parks and Robb as well releasing video, maybe a thread can be made when people find new ones. I ask because I was going to post Lotte World's videos that they've been uploading recently but if my constant attempts to get the Everland discussion thread going is any indication I'm not sure they warrant their own topic.
  24. ^ That's fine, we've seen 2-3 hour lines during the peak season here in Asia and those kind of lines would be considered quiet over here so I think we can manage if we ever visit.
