  1. and Blue Streak is arguably one of the top 7 coasters, and easily the best woodie, at Cedar Point. It has plenty of airtime and is still fairly smooth for being almost 50 years old. Were you in a wheel seat? Because that's usually a bad idea on a woodie. And curves? What curves? It's an out and back design... But Mean Streak can go straight to the plywood factory!
  2. I waited about 30 minutes for my ride on Windseeker, but I have seen lines as long as 45 minutes. Both times were on a hot and packed Sunday. There are temporary queue lines that hold more people than the permanent ones. There is very little shade covering the temporary queue and it can get quite hot with the sun reflecting off the concrete. The ride really isn't that scary, but more fun and relaxing. The best way to describe it would be to think of it as a love child of a space needle and a chair swing.
  3. OMG I love Boulder Dash!!! These pictures are bringing back so many great memories! The only time I rode this mountain coaster was way back in 2007. I got to the around 6pm, got on all the rides I wanted, and then pretty much marathoned for 2 hours at night. Incredible! Easily my number 1 overall! Now I must find an excuse to make the 10 hour drive out to Connecticut again...
  4. While logging out of my Hotmail account today there was a blurb about record breaking theme parks. Normally, these are nothing special, but I checked it out anyway. Once I was done, there was a link for the world's weirdest amusement parks that was pretty interesting, if not awesome and hilarious: Diggerland, United Kingdom - Backhoe loader races! Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi - Home of Formula Rossa Stalin’s World, Lithuania - 86 Soviet Union statues Suoi Tien Park, Vietnam - Buddhist Disneyland GatorLand, Orlando, FL - Gator wrestling show! SantaPark, Arctic Circle, Finland - Found out that Santa lives in an underground cave complex Dwarf Empire, Kunming, China - 100 dwarfs live here and put on twice-daily cabaret-style performances that could include ballet, singing or even a little break-dancing Dickens World, Chatham, England - Get scolded by a nasty schoolmaster! Windows of the World, Shenzhen, China - Has a summer International Beer Festival Harmonyland, Japan - Hello Kitty World MSN's Record Breaking Thrills MSN's Weirdest Amusement Parks
  5. In no particular order: 1. Intamin Hyper 2. GCI Woodie 3. Pre-2000 B&M Invert 4. Intamin Prefab Woodie 5. Blue Fire With or with out the Loop? Or both for Double Pain Trouble?
  6. Where the heck is this CiCi's Pizza? They might be cheaper, but their pizza is junk. EoC was always PACKED after 5 pm til midnight. East of Chicago Pizza >>>>>>>>>> CiCi's Pizza
  7. That's the East of Chicago we're talking about? An all you can eat pizza buffet that was always crowded, delicious, and a fair price is being closed for a Dairy Queen? Seems like such a smart business decision I was trying to figure out what location he meant. The restaurant is located outside of the park. I didn't know that Cedar Point owned the property. I really hope that this isn't true...
  8. Great Photos! They really show how much work needs to be done in the offseason.
  9. But will the Pepsi be free ala Holiday World? Wait... this is central Florida we're talking about... Heck NO!
  10. Great Pictures Hanno! That TPR day was a lot of fun! Can't wait for another one!
  11. You could always ride Vortex at King's Island if you want to ride an Arrow Mega Looper. The park is somewhat close to Indiana and nearest big Arrow to your house. Probably
  12. Because he's not allowed to dunk!!
  13. How many people really buy a 1-day ticket to a Disney Theme Park? My guess is not many. A lot more people seem to buy the multiple day park hopper tickets.
  14. I LOVE that quote from the "Lord of the Flies " episode of The Simpsons!
  15. Would anyone be interested in splitting a hotel room to save some money?
  16. Would you want to carpool with me? I am 95% sure that I'm going. I'll be leaving Flint on Thursday.
  17. This sounds very tempting, even though King's Dominion is 10 hours away. Only $22 for all that ERT is so worth it! Agreed with needing to getting the Monday off. I see that you are from Michigan. I'll be in Flint during August, would you (or anyone else from MI) be interested in carpooling?
  18. Darn. Tough choice. I'll go with the hotdog option.
  19. Shouldn't be more than the usual showering of boo's every time he touches the ball. That is of course, as long as the people serving water and beer bottles remember to take off the plastic caps!! Unfortunately, then now sell beer in plastic cups.
  20. I have never seen a Mars bar. What is it comparable to in the candy world? And what type of hotdog? Skin or no skin?
  21. The best action to take might be having a city wide boycott. Have the entire arena empty for the game. He might then realize what he did to Cleveland, but the immature punk will never think of anyone but himself and his "loyal" friends.
  22. No offense to member from Miami, but the city is one of the worst sports towns in the United States. They are full of front runners. I would never thought to see the day where I would say that I want Kobe to beat LeBron in the NBA Finals. "The Decision" fiasco happened 24 hours ago and I still feel like that I got punched in the gut. I literally almost cried. LeBron might be worse than Art Modell, and Cleveland is a huge football town. Thank you for stabbing Cleveland in the back on national television. And Dan Gilbert's letter might be one of the greatest letters ever written (from a Cleveland perspective). Can't wait to see the reaction my hometown gives him when he comes back.
  23. You had a bunch of nice photos of Alton Towers. I really want to check this park out sometime soon. It would be nice to contrast my home park of Cedar Point's motto of bigger and faster is better (not that there's anything wrong with that!) to that of Alton Towers of we can't build very tall, let make the ride really unique. Hopefully, I can study abroad in England next year!
  24. I am REALLY tempted to buy this T-shirt.
