  1. You could also try for the north (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, etc), but all depends. The only things I can think of is Liseberg Gothenburg Sweden (Intamin woody, Intamin AG), Tivoli Gardens Copenhagen Denmark (scenic railway, Bolliger & Mabillard floorless), and... Actually, that's all. Though I do remember some film of a woody in Finland, or the north of Norway. Meh, up to you.
  2. Thats what I use, and I have to do them one by one. Whatchyare talking about? I use that and I can batch resize, crop, and recolor 100 pictures if needed. /Edward
  3. I was thinking of the High Roller when reading the comments. I was also thinking of the Meteorite ride. A High Roller in Meteorite shape and larger. Space Ring Coaster. "So to the right we've got Contact and to the left we've got a Star Gate. Which do you wish to ride first?" /Edward
  4. -DivX® 6.8 Codec (1 Logical CPU) This one is the best. Just configure so that you get as good a quality as you can get within 40MB. -Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 This one you can configure and bring down the Quality (keyframes large number, Quality low %, Bitrate low), but it will look crappy. Oh, and do you ever compress your Audio any? Instead of full PCM, try MPEG-3, or Layer-3, or what else you've got there (DivX Calculator assumes that you have compressed your audio to MP3 or some such). /Edward
  5. He's probably got a Home Edition, or the new Media Center Patch where all MS players only play Windows Certified Files (ei wmv & wma). My condolences. /Edward
  6. Ok, you seem to be using some strange program here. Or you are lacking Codecs. Either way, the only programs I know of and that work for alot of cases are Ulead Video Studio, VirtualDub, and Fast Movie Processor (those are the only ones I use, 2 last are free). Though, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't Windows Movie Maker have the posibility to Export films to AVI format(s)? Actually, I think the best question to ask here is: What Video Editing program are you using now? Once I've got a better idea of your equipment I can start directing you in better directions. /Edward
  7. Well, you could view them in chronological order (sort by date). I think that would be the best if you are not only going for the pictures, but also the TR itself.
  8. Hm. I remember being on one... I think it was a wild mouse, but not sure. Blue construction of tracks in the middle of a square in Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen. Had yellow cars with faces, 2 cars per train I think. Chain was quite noisy. Small arcade thing under it (more like win-a-toy games). Around it was the main entrance, flying swans, maybe a flying carpet, Ladybird coaster, and Vintage cars (looking front to left when coming from Odin Ekspressen). If anyone can confirm this, please do. I'm afraid I'm going nuts here (only dreamt it). /Edward
  9. I use a Flash card cam. Got a good buy for it... 1GB and batteries for only 4000 SEK (plus got to keep the 16mb card that was already in there). Now HDD cams sound like a fun idea for hours of film, except for (as you say) the moving parts and any jerky movements that might or will happen. But would be cool with High Speed writing/encoding for any Slow Motion and detailed effects. Oh well, can't have them all.
  10. A usuall day at my local theme park is that I take a bottle of water with me and refill it at water fountains and pipes that come out from the ground and curve like taps (the water fountains here also have a tap just underneath). For food, I basically eat lunch, and hours later I get sick of the rides and head home for dinner. But I know how to get around the lunch expens... A packed lunch! Left over macaroni, morning cooked hot dogs, meatballs, bacon, etc.
  11. I can tell you that DivX has been very good with compressions, and sometimes it has been thanks to its calculator thingy. Feed it your time and how much space you'd like it to squeeze your vid into, and it will give you an exact estimate... What I mean by this is that it will give you something exactly according to if every frame was changing and that the audio was of a certain format. However, since the vid can change somewhat (effects and/or what not), even if you say 10 mins in 100 MB, it can pass this a little bit, but can also be a MB or 2 under. Either way, I'd say DivX is the best if you want to have some control over your file size limits. /Edward
  12. The only plan I can think of for 2008 would be Liseberg on opening day, if weather permits. I can only say this for certain because anything outside my town will be a spontanius move... /Edward
  13. I've also had the fun idea of an X coaster with free spinning seats. Actually, I thought that is how one of those coasters worked to begin with. My other thought is a coffeecup/virginia reel type of coaster, encased inside a see-through marble that rolls down troughs and tracks. Yes, as free as a bob-sled, flying turns, or more(/worse). Also... Why no aquarium coasters? Meaning coasters that go under water, but the tunnel is clear for you to view the water around. Anyone played Riven? /Edward
  14. A few links you may find useful: www.hitta.se - keywords in "Var?" would be "Liseberg Göteborg", "Centralstationen Göteborg", and of course the name of your hotel. www.vasttrafik.se - You can also find full maps of the bus and tram lines, though can be difficult to find (redone the site something horribly). Hope this helps. /Edward
  15. If I had the money, I'd buy a park! Don't think much will happen straight after. I'd open it for the income, save on the money, but wouldn't garentee on new things being built every year. Though when things do happen, they would be rather unique. Ok, I'm dreaming here...
  16. Hey. Robb didn't answere if it was OK with me using 3ivX for my HQ AVI submission.
  17. Well, the insecure part for me would be if I'm late for the bus and it leaves, or that I'm in this strange country without knowing the language, and I may have some seperation anxiety (don't wanna go far without parents or people I know). Also thinking about so many parks in so few days, it could get a little too stressful for me. Don't think I could enjoy it all in one go. And again on the affording part. /Edward
  18. Nice TR. Glad you had fun out there. Slightly jealous. But what can one do when one is poor and insecure. /Edward
  19. That was one fun movie! Is there a 2?
  20. Hi! Just a small question about point one of the rules. The entire video must be filmed and edited by me. Would it be acceptable with a few clips that were filmed by my sister, but with me being the star of the clip? /Edward PS. Format being AVI, yes, but what Sub-format? I like 3ivX because of the high-quality settings, but if you want DivX or DV NTSC I could do that as well. And I'm afraid that the image format will be 4:3 (640x480) (though I think the DV codec is limited to the 720x480 scale).
  21. Well lets see. - Harry Potter 4 on DVD. (Didn't really like it. Both quick and not.) - The Bards Tale. - Transformers Movie. - Some Money. - And NoLimits. I'll eventually get around to making some Vlog on it... If I can tear myself away from NoLimits (and any other small game that wasn't mentioned). /Edward
  22. If you are going to stay more than 3 months in a European country you have to have a resitent visa and if you are going to work in Europe you have to get a work permit for the country where you intend to work. (Something like the Green Card) Remember, each country has its own rules and you have to apply for each country! Even we Europeans cannot just go and live and work in another European country without going through this kind of paper work! If you come to Europe and you get a job, you will be "locked" to the job all year. Only time to travel will be weekends and bigger hollidays (unless you are on a rotating schedule). On the other hand, if you come over as a student you can travel during all the school holidays and weekends, (of course, if you can afford it). My suggestion is this: 1. Save as much as you can now. 2. Find out about studying in Britain, not necesarily as an exchange student. This way no language problems in "home country". As a student you'll have to go through an organisation which will see to it that all your papers are in order (e.g. visas, resident visa, possible student work permit). I believe they will also help you to find a place to live, probably some kind of students' home or dorm. PS. I've been hearing that Denmark is less friendly to foreigners than it used to be, like so many places.
  23. Nice stuff! Now all that's missing is an audio track of every TPR member singing this. Or even a vid of them Carolling just outside some park. Maybe even some side clips of these events actually happening. /Edward
  24. Oh, one other thing about Sweden. One can't sue in any old which way like one can in the States. If a service is late (police (sometimes), medical transport, train, buss) you can't sue for that, or if you break your leg in a random shop you can't sue the shop into extinction. Not sure how the other EU counties have it with suing. Maybe more freedom, maybe less. /Edward
  25. -I proooobably won't have a driver's liscense over there. Would I be able to get around without having a car? I know that some parts of Sweden have a good public transportation system. Of course, only places in Sweden I've been to is Gothenburg (hometown), Malmo, Stockholm, and Härnusand (country side). As far as I can tell, Gothenburg is the most complex one with trams, trains, busses and boats that go to almost anywhere in town and the whole region called Västra Götaland. http://www.vasttrafik.se/en/ If you're gonna pop over some time, I could give a tour. And maybe a place to stay (depending on your habbits ;p). /Edward
