As for local hang outs & bars, my personal two favorite are Player One and Mango's. Player One is more of a "locals" retro arcade bar and Mango's is a huge "las vegas style" night club. Google both of them. Player One has a *GREAT* beer selection! -

My feeling is with BGT is that even on a Saturday, if you are there EARLY like 30 minutes before park opening, you can usually get at least one ride on all coasters & Falcon's before the crowd hits. Cheetah Hunt & Cobra's seem to get the longest lines. Thankfully they are right next to each other. If you have budgeted for Quick Queue by all means get it if you need it, but December can always be a bit unpredictable and who knows, you might end up there on a Saturday with only 10 minute wait for everything, or all coasters could be over an hour. I've seen both scenarios recently. -

I'm not a huge fan of those "splash battle" type of rides so I feel no loss for it leaving. That being said, isn't it sort of weird that newer attractions in that part of the park haven't lasted very long? There are three attractions (two of them were pretty major additions when they first opened) that didn't last a decade: Adventure Mountain (which I actually still like better than Firechaser, just being honest), the Topple Tower, and now River Battle. Those last two I don't really care about, and while I don't expect parts to cater to my own personal preferences, it is a little odd that so much money has been spent on attractions that didn't have legs. Oh well... Hopefully it will be replaced with something much bigger, better, and have longer staying power! -
Coastering during the eclipse?

The earth wasn't "plunged into darkness" during totality!!!! You know when the earth gets "plunged into darkness?" At night. EVERY NIGHT! When the sun goes down!!! I'm so fucking sick of hearing people over-hype this!!! Yes it was cool. Yes I'm also a NASA nerd and was psyched about it. But the way that people have totally over-hyped "totality" like it's seriously the next coming of some fictional religious figurehead that I don't believe in is really disgusting to me. I'm happy for the people who experienced it. Stop acting like you should be getting infinite blowjobs constantly because of it. -
So I had a pretty great Flight of Passage experience tonight with one minor complaint in operations... "For Science" I got in line 3 minutes before park closing tonight and since there was no EMH (Extra Magic Hours), I wanted to see what the line would be like assuming that all FastPass+ would stop coming in at park closing, and given those two factors in theory it should move much quicker. It was sign posted at a 120 minute wait and 46 minutes later I was in the first pre-show room. Here's what I tweeted out tonight... Just got in line for Flight of Passage a few minutes before park closing. Posted 120min wait. Let's see how long it really is! 14 minutes in and I have just entered the indoor section of the Flight of Passage queue. No more FP now so should go quicker in theory. The attention to detail and theming in here is crazy! Tokyo DisneySEA level of quality! Extended indoor queue area not being use on Flight or Passage at park closing tonight. 24 minutes waiting and we have just made it into the "RDA" area of the Flight of Passage queue. 31 minutes and we are in the Mountain Banshee Project area of Flight of Passage queue! 41 Minutes waiting and just got into the lab area of the Flight of Passage queue! Wow! That last part went fast! 46 minutes and I'm in the first pre-show room! Took only 46 min from entrance to pre-show on Flight of Passage tonight at park closing. That's awesome! The ride still blows me away. I don't even like "media-based attractions" and this ride makes me smile and giddy like a little girl every time I ride. It's just so good and all things considered I should hate the ride, but I love it! But here is my minor complaint from tonight... When I got to the grouping area and I told them "1 person" they put me into a different row than everyone else which was clearly the "single rider line." When I got to the front of that row the grouper putting everyone on numbers counted down everyone in the other line "number 12 - 13 - 14 - 15" then pointed at me "Single Rider.... number 16" just like they would say at any other single rider line on property. I don't mind them filling the seats, and from an operational standpoint I fully support that! But I wasn't in a "single rider" line, I waited the full queue. While seat #16 is still REALLY REALLY GOOD, it is probably the worst seat on the ride. As someone who waited the full queue, I would like to have thought I'd have the same chance at getting one of those middle seats as the next person waiting in line. If I'm a single rider am I always going to get put into that "single rider" line and never be able to get one of the more desirable middle seats? That's sort of a bummer. The ride during AP previews had a sign for "single riders" but by the time it opened to the public, that sign was gone: Really my complaint is this... If you're going to fill those empty seats with a rider from a "single riders" queue, why not just open up the single riders line from the very front? It's still closed off and hasn't ever been used. But inside, they seem to most certainly be using the "single riders" line to fill those seats. I don't mind if I'm in a single rider line and I'm basically a "seat filler" and I've waited a much shorter time because that's the trade-off. But I'm not sure I like that I was a seat filler after waiting alongside everyone else in line for the full queue. That being said, I still waited less than half of the posted wait time and I rode one of Disney's best attractions. I honestly cannot complain that much, and if anything, maybe this is less of a "complaint" and more of an interesting "observation." Thanks for reading!

Stop right there. If you're reading something on Facebook assuming that it is grounded in any sort of reality, you're doing it wrong. People on Facebook post the worst, most unintelligent, horrifying crap on social media... that is until you get to the comments section of YouTube.... This right here. I'm the same way. Don't get me wrong, I was out looking through my eclipse glasses yesterday too and thought it was "neat" but that's about where it ended. There are many things i really enjoy doing and being part of. "Enjoy" being the key word here. Meaning that on a personal level, I was satisfied with being part of whatever it is I happen to be doing at the time and even reporting on it to "share" with others. But I don't agree with over-hyping things for the sake of bragging rights to the point of being obnoxious. Which is exactly what I felt most of social media was doing yesterday. -

I think the event in itself was fine. But the amount of crazy over-hype people and the media made out of it was insane. But then again, this is what Millennials are all about. Taking something that really has nothing to do with them and making it "ALL ABOUT MEEEEEEEE!!!!" Why do you think "Dear Evan Hansen" won the Tony? That show is everything I can't stand about Millennials. Bragging rights is everything these days. It's a shame really, because something that is a pretty cool, however *fairly* common natural occurrence (although yes I get it not often through the USA) was blown out into the "event of the century" and I feel like people who went out of their way and spent a considerable amount of money to see it, were justifying how amazing it was to those who didn't. Pretty much this scenario... Again, I'm not saying it wasn't "cool" it just wasn't the event of the century people were hyping it up to be. -

And the guests that are PAYING to have those employees employed deserve to ride the attractions at the park they paid money to ride. I'm sorry, but this is just so stupid my brain cannot process the information without exploding like someone's retinas looking directly into the sun. -

The majority of them are in storage at WDW for what I am going to hope will eventually be something like "Flynn's Arcade" that they used to have a DCA in the ElecTRONica. It would only make sense why they didn't sell most of the classic machines (including anything Tron & Star Wars related) in the recent DQ auction. I figure there MUST be a plan for them, and having some sort of Tron themed arcade next to the new ride would only make some logical sense. -
Elissa and I visited DŌ in New York City a few months ago. It's a "cookie dough shop" that serves you cookie dough just like ice cream. And it was the most wonderful thing ever! Of course, the very first thing we said after discovering this amazing place was "WHY DON'T WE HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN ORLANDO!??!?!" Well, now we do.... The Wonderland Cookie Dough Co. invited us out for a sneak preview a couple of days ago and I'm happy to report that not only is the product just as good as what we had in New York City, this place is only located 15 minutes from us in Celebration, which is right outside of the Walt Disney World area! If you're visiting the parks, it's a very short drive or cheap Uber and we highly recommend checking it out. We were able to get a sneak preview of two flavors: your traditional chocolate chip and "Cinnamon Roll" and honestly both were wonderful! (pun intended.) They both had that sort of subtle gritty texture to it that made it *feel* like cookie dough which sets it aside from "ice cream" and the flavor of the chocolate chip, for example, was exactly as you would remember from snagging the dough from the bowl which usually meant a half dozen or so less cookies, but a super tasty treat RIGHT NOW, which is all that matters, right? Anyway, check out their website: https://www.wonderlandcookiedough.com/ And please go LIKE their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/wonderlandcookiedough/ And now here are a few photos to make you hungry:

Wait, it is??? From who??? I still think it's one of the best RMC coasters out there! Most of the newer lists in this thread. But I'm glad to hear the original still holds its own. I'm going to assume for a lot of people it's the "newness' factor and probably the "most recent ridden" factor. I'd be willing to bet if people went and rode Texas Giant again after riding all the other RMC's they have a difficult time not putting it in the top 5. -

Yeah if you Google "roller coaster seconds of airtime" you'll see it's pretty commonly referred to.
