  1. ^ Well, the Texas Trip is only 5 days, and 2 of the days are on a weekend! --Robb
  2. ^^ Ooooh! Cat Fight! This could be awesome!
  3. ^ Exactly what I was thinking too.
  4. We do not buy season passes, sorry. To keep the costs low we work out a group rate with the parks, and many times we have to guarantee a certain number of group admissions to qualify for that rate, so that is why we can't allow people to use their own season passes if they happen to have one. It actually doesn't save us anything at all, and in fact, could wind up costing MORE money if we can't get the group rate. Most parks, even if they are in the same chain, operate their group and and special events departments separately from one another so it's very rare where we would make one deal with several different parks. Hope that makes sense! --Robb
  5. ^ Pretty much if you went and put your name in, you got tickets! --Robb
  6. Is this Eurofighter similar or the same as the one at Nick Universe? --Robb
  7. I think we have enough "best of" threads on TPR. And given that Manta hasn't even had it's official Media Day yet, it's not like that many people have been able to ride it, thus will have a chance to vote. --Robb "Thread closed." Alvey
  8. See link above - I've added Lake Compounce!
  9. I haven't been able to look at this thread since page 1 and I have now been able to go through the entire thread. I'm going to keep my comments short and to the point. 1. We have rules at TPR. Posting Rules. They can be found in the main forum in the Sticky section. If you don't follow these rules, your posts may be locked or deleted. It's that simple. 2. We try to have a sense of humor here and not take everything too seriously. I completely understand that humor is a subjective thing. Not everyone finds the same things funny. Some people find what we say mean-spirited, some people find what we say hilarious. I'm not going to pretend that we are trying to please everyone. We are not. If we did that, I don't think Theme Park Review would be as entertaining as it is. I do ask for everyone to take the good with the bad. Like any other form of entertainment, we don't always hit a home run every time. Sometimes we are funny as hell, sometimes we fail. Please give us the benefit of the doubt when that happens. I don't think that is too much to ask. 3. The moderators do a FANTASIC job! It is not an easy task keeping the forums to a high level of quality. It's what we strive for and I think we absolutely succeed. The moderating team deserves much kudos and thanks for that. If you are finding many of your threads locked or edited, perhaps you should look into improving the quality of your posts. 4. Theme Park Review *IS* the #1 "Unofficial Theme Park and Roller Coaster" website in the world. So therefore I think we are doing something right. 5. Phazan, if you don't like the way the forums are moderated, don't be active on them. It's quite simple. I am not going to change the way Theme Park Review operates because of a few people who may disagree with how we run the site. I want everyone who is a member on TPR to enjoy the site and get out of it as much as possible, but if you don't agree with how the site is managed, then maybe it's not for you, and I respect that. Perhaps you would rather have an unmoderated forum. Perhaps you don't mind text message speak. Perhaps you don't mind topics that don't make any sense. If these are the things you prefer, there are plenty of other forums out there. However I do challenge you to find another theme park/roller coaster website that offers as high of quality forum as Theme Park Review AND as many activities that TPR brings to their members. 6. And finally, Theme Park Review would not be what it is today if it wasn't for all of YOU who contribute to it. Since we are such a "user-submitted content" heavy site, we *need* to have good moderation to make sure everything that is contributed - posts, photos, trip reports, videos, etc, are of high quality. If we didn't have such a high quality bar, the website as a whole would suffer. It is all of YOU who make it great. Please don't forget that! Everything we do on Theme Park Review is done for our members. Every addition to the site (CoasterTube, forum upgrades, park index, etc), every event we put on (West Coast Bash, TPR Tours, TPR meets, TPR Parties, TPR Film Shoots, etc) are done for all of YOU and as a way to say THANK YOU for all your support over the years. If we didn't have such a strong member based community, we wouldn't be able to do most of what we have manged to pull off. So please, before you go complaining about moderators locking threads, etc, try to focus on all the other things that site has to offer (and mostly for FREE) and focus your energy there. Thank you for your support. --Robb "So much for a short answer!" Alvey ps. I was the one who *UNLOCKED* this thread, so please don't be hypocritical saying how we go and lock threads when they contain comments or opinions that TPR doesn't want to hear. This thread is a perfect example of how that is NOT the case.
  10. While I know he's not the end-all, be-all source for this kind of thing, I do remember Dick Knoebel being asked this question at a presentation and he did say that Carousel's were made up of all horses and Merry-Go-Rounds had a variation of animals. --Robb
  11. ^^ Who asked you to remove your videos, and which ones?
  12. I appreciate your posting this information, but quite frankly, your post is terrible. - Your title is in all caps - Your title is NOT descriptive at all - Your post is not descriptive at all - Your post is all in lower case - You have over used exclamation marks Seriously, dude, you NEED to read our posting rules before you post again, and more important than READING them is actually FOLLOWING THEM! Here are our posting rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 Clean up your posts or you won't be posting here any more. --Robb
  13. ^ From the questionnaire: These are the only parks that I would say are "confirmed". Remember this trip is also more than a year away so the schedule could change and adding more parks means adding more time which means it's more expensive. I would say that Dells has a good chance of being included on this trip because we'll pass right by it, but that's about it. We have to draw the line somewhere. --Robb
  14. ^ 100% true. It uses the same technology used in Universal Orlando's Disaster pre-show. --Robb
  15. Airfare to the starting point has never been included in any TPR trips, but all costs once you get on the bus are mostly covered. All our trips include at *least* one meal a day (most if not all days you get two meals, and some days you get three), ground transportation, hotels, park admissions, etc, are all included. Any other extras like souveniers you'd be on your own for. We can't include airfare because people are flying in from all over the world to the starting point and airfare ranges in price from hundreds of dollars to sometimes thousands depending on where you're going/coming from. --Robb
  16. Yeah, I don't think that clip is new. I'm pretty sure it's the same teaser they've been running or had live for at least a week now. --Robb
  17. Yes on everything but the traveling Laser (but you never know if timing works out!) --Robb
  18. I would STRONGLY recommend reading TPR's Posting Rules before you post again, especially if you are "posting while driving your car." TPR's Posting Rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 --Robb
  19. Quassy has been added: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=89&linkid=6026&pageno=1 Lake Compounce has been added: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=84&linkid=6027 Lake Compounce update also includes an amazing Boulder Dash POV!!! --Robb
  20. Awesome! Thanks for posting the pictures. Some of them were showing up as red X's so I uploaded them to the server. Hope that was ok. --Robb
  21. What a great story! I'm glad it all went well. --Robb
  22. Seriously, are they really "stranded" when it's only 30 minutes or an hour??? I hate the press. --Robb "Been stuck in traffic longer than that..." Alvey
  23. ^ Awww....my ass appreciates your comments! --Robb
