Seems to me admission and parking is on par with the average cost of most parks out there. --Robb
  2. ^ And they could just go out of business and close down all the parks...oh wait, they already almost did. Go back and re-read my edit.
  3. Parking price is a big thing. Season pass parking is $70 for one person with no option to add to a 2nd person for a discount (that option does exists at SF STL,) front lot parking is 25 and back lot is 15. The prices are awful comnpared to other SF parks and theme parks in general. The even worse part is the fact that the season pass parking has already went up $5 since last October and talk is the regular lots might as well. You can take the bus from the giant mall, but is more of a pain. Outside of that, there is ZERO outside parking. Every place with in miles tows after X amount of time. So no real way to get by it. The Flash Pass also sells out fast. Even today, when it was basically school kids, people were still buying the gold ones. Right now, they run something like $96 for 2 people on the gold. The raise the prices depending on demand, so I've seen 2 person flash passes during Fright fest at around 112 for 2 people sell out in an hour. You're right. They should just be letting everyone in for free and giving them a $50 Shoney's gift certificate as they walk through the gate. Every 100th person gets a free tractor. --Robb EDIT! No, you know what, I will actually respond. I was just going to be a dick and make fun of this post, but when I read this again... All I can say is... GO MARK SHAPIRO!!!! If the guy's park is able to upcharge something at that much money and SELL OUT OF THE PRODUCT.... The guy is doing something *RIGHT* I give him a HELL of a lot of credit and when I read stuff like that, I actually believe the company may pull themselves out of debt. And you know what that means for the rest of us? That's right... MORE RIDES LESS PARKS GETTING SOLD MORE RIDES SO QUIT YOUR BITCHING!!!
  4. I want to say thank you to everyone who took our 2010 trips questionnaire. If you haven't taken it yet, you can fill it out here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/tprtrips2010.htm If you have any questions, please post them! --Robb
  5. I don't mean to be so abrassive, I'm just really sick of this argument. But it's ok.... ...I have fixed the problem.
  6. ^ Then your park was not properly trained to enforce the policy or deal with the behavior of the general public. Hopefully this has improved since your employement there. --Robb "Please stop talking about the lockers...PLEASE!" Alvey
  7. Get an all day locker. Why do they need to lug all their crap around with them all day long? They don't. Or, supply their kids with a bunch of $1 bills for the locker if they REALLY need to schlep a bunch of stuff around the park. None of this is true. This is also not accurate. This is an incorrect statement. Do you actually believe this? If you do, you should click HERE Bullshit. You bought the cup. You deal with it. And if you're going to drink enough soda to warrant buying the cup then you've just saved yourself a *LOT* of $5.79 sodas which will more than cover the cost of a few $1 lockers you might have to spend to put your cup in. If you're at the park all day and you drink 10 soda's then that's $57.90 versus $22.99. Even if you had to put your cup in 10 lockers that's still only $32.99 total for the day. Much better than $57.90. That's a GREAT deal for a family who share the cup. If you'd rather spend $57.90 instead of $32.99 because you don't want to put your cup in a locker, KNOCK YOURSELF OUT! And if you're not going to drink that much soda in a day...HELLO!!! DON'T BUY THE CUP!!!! YOU JUST WASTED YOUR MONEY!!!! Just don't complain about the lockers. Seriously. DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!!!! There are FAR better things to complain about at parks other than the $1 lockers. Find them. Bitching about the lockers is stupid, pointless, and a totally ridiculous argument. I'm just really sick of hearing about it. Again, CEDAR FAIR AND BUSCH PARKS HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS!!! WHY IS IT PEOPLE HAVE ONLY STARTED COMPLAINING AS SOON AS SIX FLAGS STARTED CHARGING FOR LOCKERS??? --Robb "The stupidity of this argument gives me a migraine..." Alvey
  8. ^ The tickets are not being mailed to you, you pick them up at the event. PayPal says that for EVERYTHING you order. And yes, if your mother bought only two tickets and put down yours and your brothers name, then you guys are the only two who can attend the event. Hope this answers your questions! --Robb
  9. There are less than 10 tickets available for Termination Day! If you want to go, register now! http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=12
  10. I really do not have an issue with the $1 lockers. Cedar Point and Busch Gardens has been doing this for YEARS before Six Flags started it. So Shapiro is absolutely spot on when he says they took the idea from another amusement park. As for most enthusiasts, we know the drill when it comes to dealing with our crap on coasters, but have you watched the general public? I can't tell you how many times I've see a train's dispatch held up 30 seconds or more from some chick who can't figure out what to do with her purse or some dude who goes through the process of stripping down his jacket and hoodie who then has to hop out of the train and put it on the side, jump back in the train, etc. It makes it MUCH easier to just get rid of all that stuff before you get in the station. And if you're going to bring a bunch of crap with you (that you arguably could have left in the car) deal with paying $1. OMG a whole *DOLLAR* If you are going to complain about spending money, moan about the $4 soda that you can get at 7-11 for $1.79 and even I don't complain about that kind of stuff because, well, I'm at a theme park. I know damn well when I go to a theme park, sporting event, concert, movie theater, etc, that I'm going to pay more money for concessions than I normally would. And I don't think anyone should be surprised by this. --Robb
  11. ^ The address should be on the email that the TPR Store automatically sent to you. If you didn't get that, please email me directly and I will give you our address. Thank you! --Robb
  12. Ok, this thread has gone nowhere. It's actually bringing DOWN the quality of threads on TPR. I'm going to close it before it spirals down further. --Robb
  13. Matthew, Thank you for your enthusiasm and posting your thoughts to Theme Park Review. Please do us all a favor and read the following thread before you post again. This information could greatly improve your posting quality: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 --Robb
  14. FYI - There are only 15 tickets left for the event. Register now if you want to go! --Robb
  15. I'll do a shipment of DVDs this weekend. So if anyone wants to place an order today or tomorrow it will get shipped on Saturday! --Robb
  16. US domestic shipping is $5 and international is $10 flat fee for all items purchased. --Robb
  17. We are working on some ideas of things to do for those who are frequent visitors of the park and may need a break. --Robb
  18. Wow! I thought I was the only one. I am seriously against "text message speak." My iPhone and my blackberry had a full qwerty keyboard. USE IT! And even those phones that don't, that's what T9 Word was invented for. If someone texts me using txt tlk, I don't even respond. If I have to try to decifer what someone is saying, I delete it! The problem is when we have an absolutely legit person who is brand new and comes on to post something. For example, we have many parks that will post about events, new rides, etc, but they don't post very often. They would no longer be able to do this. And yeah, then you'd just have people find the random thread or some other way to "post for posting sake" until they get their post count up. The best solution is to just have a really good team of mods and we constantly monitor the forums. Those who are bad posters usually end up getting what they deserve anyway.... --Robb
  19. ^ There isn't a last day to order. We'll have them available even after the event for anyone else that wants them. --Robb
  20. ^ There is absolutely no guarantee. I may get someone that orders 20 tickets tonight and they are all gone. I am not able to save tickets for anyone, sorry. They are first come, first serve. --Robb
  21. The shirts will most likely be printed on Gilden or Tennessee River, but I can't guarantee that, sorry. I will say that the couple of different brands that TPR shirts do end up getting printed on don't seem to run that small. Most people seem to think they fit exactly right. They are always of VERY good quality and don't seem to shrink at all. Anyone here have a TPR shirt than can say one way or the other? Hope that helps! --Robb
  22. ^ What part of "please email me" didn't make it through the filter? Seriously, send me an email. There is no need to discuss this on the forum. --Robb
  23. ^ I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If you went through the entire registration process you should have gotten an email from the TPR Store that tells you exactly how to pay via PayPal without having to re-register. If you didn't get that, please email me. --Robb
  24. Do we REALLY need this thread?
