  1. I had a dream once where I was naked and there was a room full of singing fish. I don't remember much else. --Robb "I hate fish" Alvey
  2. ^^ Ahh, interesting find about the dark ride. Yeah, I had kind of noticed that the station seemed awfully complex for what it was. But I didn't think about it at the time because when we visited there, the place was *PACKED.* Luckily, we didn't have to wait for the Rattler! Glad the ride has held up. Seems like the smaller parks who don't have many other rides to dilute the focus of their maintenance department can keep up woodies better. I'd like to find time to get back out there at some point. --Robb
  3. I love Google! Simple, yet does so much! --Robb
  4. ^ By all means we'll be more than happy to take your money at the BBQ! --Robb
  5. What I can't figure out is what were those coasters they showed in the photos? My guess was Lagoon, but I don't think that's right. --Robb
  6. I too think it looks more like a PC than a console!
  7. Can you guess this "Neon Coaster"
  8. Hey everyone! The wait is over! THEME PARK REVIEW T-SHIRTS ARE HERE!!! NOTE: T-SHIRTS ARE BLACK Only $20 each which INCLUDES shipping! To order your cool Theme Park Review T-shirt click this link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store.htm --Robb "Thanks to everyone for your support!" Alvey
  9. Post to Gamespot just a little while ago: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6124293/index.html I found this most interesting: IMO, this system just HAS to be backwards compatible. I think I would probably not even consider buying one if that was the case. It still pisses me off that I can't go back and play older N64 games on the Gamecube, etc. Sony made a GREAT decision about backwards compatibility for the PS2, as did Nintendo with the GBA and DS. I sure as hell hope the new system can play original XBOX games. --Robb
  10. OK, time to unsticky this topic. Thanks again to all your feedback. Elissa and I are right now working out the possibilty of doing an organized trip next year. If you are interested in doing a coaster trip with TPR and you haven't taken our survey yet, please do so to help us collect information! http://www.themeparkreview.com/question.htm Thanks! --Robb
  11. ^ What directions rule is the bummer? --Robb "And yeah, we do live in Valencia..." Alvey
  12. The day at Epcot meeting on Monday sounds great...except that we won't be able to make it. At least not until dinner time. Looks as though that is the day we're going to end up at Typhoon Lagoon for most of the morning/early afternoon. And since we're not staying on property, it doesn't help us much with the extra magic hour. And when you can't get there for the extra hour, there's nothing worse than showing up at Epcot for normal opening time and finding out the first fastpass you can get for Test Track or Mission:Space isn't until 4pm because the rest were taken during that magic hour. BUT! We are planning to have dinner at EPCOT in the Japan pavilion and see Illuminations that night. Japan Teppanyaki Restaurant: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/diningDetail?id=TeppanyakiDiningRoomDiningPage So if we can get at least 8 people that are interested, we'll make dinner reservations for the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant at 7:30pm and take over one (or more) of the teppanyaki tables, then we can all go see Illuminations together after dinner. So I recommend a couple of meeting times: 8:00 at Mission: Space for those staying on property 9:15 at Mission: Space for those that are not 7:30pm at Japan Pavilion for TPR dinner Should there be an afternoon meeting time also? Respond to when you think you can make it and we'll update the roll call above! --Robb
  13. ^ Yeah, I mean that's kind of the problem. If there's a coaster that's gone either either A. do we have any footage of it? B. is it actually worth doing a video of? I did a video of Clementon's Jack Rabbit, an old 1919 wooden coaster that's gone forever and no one seemed to care.... However the Wacky Soap Box Racers video has been very well received. I considered doing a video of Hercules, but the footage I had was pretty bad, so I decided against it. I guess I could always post a Windjammer video, but again, is it really worth the trouble? So that kind of sums it up...how many coasters that have been demolished in the past 5 to 10 years are worth doing a video of? --Robb "In one day of the Powder Keg video I got more downloads than the 2 years the Clementon Jack Rabbit video has been up." Alvey
  14. I worked at Disneyland from 1988 - 1992. Mostly in restaurants and Fantasmic! crowd control. I ended up doing tons of other random odd things there, though, like stocking retail shelves, playing crash test dummies on Splash Mountain, extras in random TV commericals, etc. Probably the most fun though was having to wear a character costume for 1/2 a day when I went through a training course for when I worked as a producer for Disney studios. We did a 3-day 'brainwashing' course down at the park, part of which having to dress up and interact with the guests. It was all a cool experience though. --Robb "Ended up working for or with Disney for something like 8 years of my professional life!" Alvey
  15. ^ We haven't done that yet! We keep wanting to go, and for one reason or another, we keep putting it off. We'll have to make a point of getting to it this year. --Robb "We will be in the UK in '06!" Alvey
  16. ^ LMAO!!! "It can even be over something as simple as being excited from being fed." Why has that never happened to me before? --Robb "Fainting Alvey" Alvey
  17. Is this the one you are talking about: http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=SC-X105L%2fXAA If it is, it's crap. I've already bought one and returned it. The MPEG4 compression isn't even as good as my MPEG2 DVD compressor that I use, and the lipstick cam is only 340k (they don't tell you that in advance anywhere.) It looked like it was going to be a cool solution for POV, but it's not. Maybe the next version of it that comes out will be better, but the quality kind of reminded me of the 1st wave of digital cameras from 8 years ago! --Robb
  18. ^ Sweet! I like it when parks are cool with cameras. Knoebel's is the same way. --robb
  19. I can't really think of much to add. Looks like you've got pretty much everything covered. There are a few other 'credits' in the Dells, like the couple of Riverview park which are EASY to run in/run out and get. I think we may have been there all of 15 minutes in 2003. Are you guys planning on hitting the new water park at SFGam? It looks like it might be pretty cool. We haven't been to Noah's Ark either, but we might do that this year since there is a credit there also! At Mall of America there is also the Aquarium if you like random fish. It's quite a good mall with lots of restaurants. I think we found a good Italian place in there last time we went. Anyway, hope that helps! --Robb
  20. I don't know if I'm disturbed or not by this.... http://www.geekonstun.com/mt/archives/hd_allard_050605.html
  21. LOL! Nice. It's good to see the SA guys like us for the most part. I expect a certain amount of bashing from them, but hey, that's kind of what SA is all about so I kind of look at it as complimentary! --Robb "Whatever support you can give us is always appreciated!" Alvey
  22. We actually get linked from SA quite often. I would have thought our videos would be too 'tame' for their crowd, but they do seem to like them! The worst, though, was when we put up the Manhattan Express video! That nealy set the server on fire!!! I love this quote: "The site is the tits though." LMAO!!!!! I gotta use that as a tag line! "Theme Park Review...We're the tits!!!" --Robb
  23. ^ Are they anything like the Wonka-vator? --Robb
  24. "This book reads like stereo instructions!" (I never really figured out what that meant...) Trading Places.
  25. ^ Thanks for posting that....looks kind of strange. --Robb "Had to open it with WINRAR" Alvey
