They use Home Depot lumber pallets right?
  2. Um, am I the only having a lot of boxes with red "x's" in them on his second post?
  3. It is a lot of fun and with that huge expansion, you can bet we'll go there again next time we are in Sandusky. Octopus Racer slides, wave pool, Bowl tandem raft slides, Behemoth Bowl clover raft slides, and even more slides. This thing is going to be huge
  4. Still on Day 5... After walking through Wildwater Kingdom we decided it was way too busy for us and decided to head back to Sandusky. On the way back, Missy saw a sign advertising Kalahari's day passes and she decided we should go check that out. Turn out she made a good decision as we had a lot of fun. Recommend waiting and doing the twilight deal as it saves money and the park is pretty empty then. This place is going to be huge when the new addition gets finished. The new addition building is just as big if not bigger than the one that currently houses the entire park. Park #6 Kalahari - Sandusky are below. Entire gallery is here: http://midwestinfoguide.com/gallery/waterparks/kalsan/ LOOOONG lazy river Another view of slides Body Slides/Tube Slides/Family Raft Slide Activity Pool Lilly pad crossing Boogie Board/Surf thing Play Fort and Zip Coaster The pretty entrance to Kalahari resort
  5. I'll try to get Kalahari photos up tonight sometime. I have to go to work now.
  6. Don't generalize. I'm an ACEr and (a) am not fat, actually I am below where my BMI should be (b) Magnum and Beast are FAR from the tops of my "best" lists © Don't like gravy.
  7. Boomerang at Worlds of Fun. Colors picked out by color blind Daniel Keller, who as the GM at the time --- later went on to CP. Notice the track is orange, support are yellow. The "tent" on the station is pink and green and then the train is pink. Eeekkk!!!
  8. At one time, before Beast got neutered, it was in my top 10, but in all fairness, so was GhostRider and Texas Giant -- both of which have fallen a long way from my top 10.
  9. I don't know where you are feeling them David, but here is where they are located.
  10. I just could not get over how crowded the place was. If they wanted to do it right, they need to build another tower complex on the other side of the wave pool to stretch the crowds out a little. As is, all of the slides are in one spot and thus it looks busier than it really is --- though it is pretty busy.
  11. The coaster doesn't use buzz bars anymore, but individual restraints and seat dividers for each seat now. You can see how one restraint is up in this photo below
  12. I agree Robb, when the ride first opened it was definitely one of the best coasters out there. Then Cedar Fair bought the park out midway through 1995 and then around 1996 you started seeing the changes. You are right around 1999 was when it started really sucking and it has not got any better since. What he is talking about is there is a "new" set of trims during the course of the ride (not the original two on the first drop, but more). I am trying to get him to pinpoint where they are, because he keeps "moving" them each time he posts
  13. *removed photo due to redundancy*
  14. Microtel in Huron (Cedar Point "backway in") is also a good place to stay. Just request to stay on the side away from the rail road tracks. They have breakfast there too.
  15. I'm trying to find a photo
  16. The new trim is coming off the top of the helix heading out towards the Bobs turn section.
  17. Here is a different angle of that slide complex and you guys are correct it is quite the tangle of slides Tangle of slides
  18. After lunch at Coaster EXT we walked across the long floating bridge to see what all the buzz was about on this new water park. What we found was a very crowded waterpark that desperately needs more rides. The lines and overcrowding were definitely issues that the park will need to look at. I almost would say "screw the ride park, the money is in the waterpark" as it was very obvious where everyone was at when we were there. Photos for Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom The entire gallery is here: http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/gallery/waterparks/wwkgl The only other attraction in the water park was the wave pool. They seriously need more stuff over here The longest lines were for this slide complex. They looked like fun, but not worth waiting in that line. I thought their lazy river was cool with the wave effects -- why didn't Holiday World opt for one like that? Their Tornado slide was very popular It also looked busy The water fort looked like fun Long bridge across the lake
  19. Contrary to popular belief, most parks are NOT busy on the 4th of July.
  20. Man I am glad I don't have those guys' job. There is no way you could get me back on SOB. It bruised me so bad last time I rode it that it took almost a month to get rid of the bruises.
  21. ^Well considering that they are mostly doing structural work and not retrack work, you probably won't feel much difference yet. With that being said it is smoother than it has been. This project is on going and gradual so you will not feel any "light switch" changes during the course of this improvement process.
  22. Can people not read the rules? Sheesh. Oooh you are so big and bad because you snuck your camera on board. Sad really that people have to do this just so they can be "cool" on YouTube of all places.
