  1. Yes it is very good. The new haunt BloodShed is being constructed by an outside firm and is supposed to be very blood and gore. It is a permanent haunt structure so it should be pretty good. A lot of the other haunts there at WOF put the big boys down town to shame -- in fact I think they might be getting scared now as it is cheaper to go to WOF's event then it is to go through 2 mazes down town. Asylum Island was said to be the best of the Asylums in the chain last year (yes even better than SoCal's)
  2. I emailed Martha (SDC PR) about it, but she is out of the office until Friday. We'll see what she says when she gets back.

  4. Actually they do go the entire length of the track. The only place where there were not lights is the station.
  5. ^not to mention Titanic is sailing there as well. lol
  6. OzCat 10 times on Saturday August 4th
  7. Well as expensive of a system that was to install, actually amount escapes me at this point, I would hope that they would have it back up and running soon. ^You say that when you were there it was "partially working"?
  8. Ah, but traffic actually moves past Celebration City whereas on the strip it just sits and sits and sits and sits. (they don't call it the "world's longest parking lot for nothing) I honestly only ever drive on the yellow and blue routes if I can help it. You're nuts to even try to get down the strip during this time of year (tourist season).
  9. ^I was talking to one of friends and the best that we can place it, they stopped working around the last part of July.
  10. Kind of a boring layout thus far.... hmmm....
  11. Cameron, you know what, now that you mentioned it I saw them working in June as well but have not since. I think I'll email PR down there and ask if them being off is permanent or if there is something wrong with them or whatever.
  12. The lights are still on the coaster, just they haven't been using them this year (from what I have seen). I always wondered if they would be a distraction to passing motorists. The coaster is located at an intersection and is very visible from Hwy 76 up on the cliff ledge as well. ^Thanks for posting that video. They were even cooler when it got really dark outside.
  13. Went to Celebration City on Saturday and had some fun taking photos after dark. Some turned out better than others. Here is a link to all 15 photos: http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/celebration/080707/ They give you 3D glasses to watch the fireworks through -- this is what it looks like. I can't believe this actually worked!!! Ignite the Night -- laser/fireworks show Ignite the Night -- laser/fireworks show Boardwalk Since they don't use the chase lights anymore, this is all you can see of OzCat at night Rt 66 Building Stinger Scrambler The Carousel area Celebration Street
  14. We actually found the SLC at GL to be one of the better 'hang-n-bangs' that we've been on (and we've been on most of the ones in the USA). It is still rough, but there are a lot more out there that are worse.
  15. I like hearing that I am not the only one who thinks that Oz Cat is GCII's crowning moment thus far. I like having that coaster in my back yard, as I got 10 laps on it Saturday night.
  16. ^It is the carnival ride that is on the back of that semi that is in the picture.
  17. We were told at Coaster EXT that the slides were supposed to have been sold to some outside company that is in South America or something like that. Anyway, that company was going to come and take them down for free (as in GL not paying for it) but for some reason they were having problems getting insurance and yada yada. Sounded like a comp out to me, but so did most of his speeches at the Q&A
  18. No there is no sign posted which I pointed out to him. He told me to "not get smart or he'd throw me out of the park" I honestly thought about saying "it would be a bigger punishment to make me stay" but didn't feel like pressing my luck -- not like I stopped taking photos anyway once he was gone -- dude I am promoting your park with my galleries, and trust me, you NEED all of the FREE advertising you can get.
  19. Hellz yeah 9/10 and most of it was guessing.
  20. ^No I was chastised by a suit over on the waterpark side for taking photos when I was there. He said that he was in charge of safety at the parks and that it was plainly stated that photos were forbidden in the waterpark and on rides and then he proceeded to lecture me on not taking photos on the rides or on the ride platforms on the ride side of the park. I had already been yelled at once at Big Dipper for taking a photo of the front of the train as it was coming in -- they did so over the PA on the station as well. WTF? It's not like I am taking the camera on board with me.
  21. SDC has a more immersive environment than Dollywood. I think between the better rides, better food, better entertainment, and better PR staff (sorry but no one can beat Martha and Crystal) SDC wins hands down.
  22. ^It is because of the height clearance of the tunnel thing on the lift hill
  23. ^^As long as you don't go on a Saturday in August.
  24. Ah, but you forget one thing, it is not what Pete Herschend wants, it is what "Moma Herschend" wants. She was the one that made the decision to put in Grand Expo.
