Werner Stengel Book
DragonKhan replied to robinschroder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I is not that easy that get ur hands on that book. On ebay they always go around a 10o Euros. There was one with Stengel's signature that was sold for over 200 Euros... So if you didn't pick it up early and you're not willing to spend a lot of money, you're out of luck... -

Honestly, I see two major factors: 1. (most important) Overall acceptance of violence in America! I'll make a comparrison: USA: Violence accepted in any form, little kids even get exposed to it. Sex however is the opposite. The US goes crazy if they se a nipple somewhere! Germany (and many others): Sex is no deal. You can buy a porn magazine on a shelf right next to the kids comic books. Violence however is a big deal (also because of history)! Any form of violence gets restricted big time! Which one is better? Decide your own! The whole mentality when it comes to violence is just way too tolerant. I dare to say it's almost "cool"! 2. MUCH easier to get a gun! Now I don't know compared to canada, but compared to most other countries it's a joke. If you live in the US and you want a gun, you'll get one without running into too much trouble! Nonsense! While the population in the US is high, the density is not! Yes, in cities it is, but you don't get many more shottings there then on the land! Yes, I definately agree on that! During my time in the US I have noticed that many Americans are not willing to solve a problem without using some kind of force or power. Anger just leads them, which brings up the next thing... I however, DO think ho much the media in the US is a major factor. TV in our society is used more and more as an "teacher". For a parent it is easy to put its child in front of the TV. This is sad, but true. I even dare to say nowadays the TV has more influence than a parent. Very scary though when I look what is on the TV!

You all know how much fun it is to blow up a plastic bag and make a loud *BANG* with it, right? Well, when you do that make sure you don't smash it while you are still blowing it up... Just try to imagine... I got a bloddy nose from it... I didn't know I can punch that good...

Question to any floridians...
DragonKhan replied to JohnSmith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Have not ridden it, but from what I've heared it is above average. Not extremely great, but definately good and worth a trip! -
And those are some of the few that I could think of that wouldn't need it. I mean, of the parks that come to mind: Holiday World, Knoebel's, Silverwood, Blackpool, Kennywood, Martin's, Lake Compounce, Indiana Beach, etc that actually take CARE of their woodies wouldn't need it. Okay, since those are the only ones i'd really care not to be retracked, i think I can live with your opinion, lol... Like I said several times. I have NOTHING against this new track style. In fact, i'm quite excited about El Toro! The only reason I didn't like Balder and Colossos as much is that the just deliver airtime and nothing else...
-
And how would that be a bad thing? lol I aggree with you just in a few points. but just comming back from Holiday World experiencing some of the wildest rides I've ever had, I KNOW that I would never want them to have this new track style! Same goes probably for many classics like the Jack Rabbit... It'd be good for some coasters, no discussion, yes...
-
True that, yes. They're obviously "rougher" than you traditional Intamin (but smoother than many Vekomas). If you think it's a better ride experience, go ahead. I simply can't say it since it's so different. I aggree on it beeing a evolution. However, I do not want them to replace the classic wooden coaster. Do you want that?! I really doubt that...

The Masterpiece
DragonKhan replied to X250's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Great Park! Or I should say "great NE park"!!! While I look up to the designs on NE (this one too), there are just a few things that bother me that seem typical on NE. I guess that just proofes the different tastes. For me a park has to be operational and the coaster should look good. Again, when does a coaster look good? It's up to everyone individually. I personally just don't like the "rough" look of many NE coasters when trying to have them go realistic paths.... Oh well... Top Notch NE Park!!! -
At some parks they don't mind if you hop back on the train when there is a single seat open and obviously nobody taking it. This way I got like 6 rerides on SilverStar, even though the line was over an hour...
