The Drop Tower that used to be in the Trocadero now resides in Portsmouth.

^If you were to do the Dungeons, book on-line first! That way you don't queue!

For Chessington and Thorpe you have to get the train from London Waterloo, which is just south of the river (it's next to the Eye) Chessington is about a 35 minute train to Chessington South, from which the park is a 10-15 minute walk. Thorpe on the other hand is a train to Staines, which is also about 35-50 minutes (get on the faster train!), but, it's followed by a bus which takes about 10 minutes and runs every 20 minutes. I honestly wouldn't know if six hours is long enough... You'd be able to run round and get on all the coasters at Thorpe I'd guess, but, it does take about an hour to get there, longer if you have to get the Underground to Waterloo! On the second question I would say do NOT do the London Bridge Experience, it is very, very... not good. Madame Tussauds is OK, but, I prefer the British Museum. I read History at a University about 3 minutes walk from the Museum so I've spent a LOT of time there, and it's a VERY interesting place. And, it's free! Madame Tussauds is better if you're more into famous people though. It depends if you want something educational, or a bit "light". As for cool things, the whole city is awesome! Just make sure you walk along the river, see Parliament etc. I also really like the zoo and surrounding park! Um, Monument is quite cool too, it's about 200ft tall, and you climb to the top and look! Canary Wharf is REALLY cool if you like just looking at modern architecture and the business side of London. Really, if you go to any sort of place in the centre, you'll find a LOT of choice for things to do!

Photo TR: Hostel Part III (Central Europe)
Fry replied to Schwarzkopf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Uh... The Netherlands? Though, Jake has been - we went... gosh... nearly three years ago now! Loved the trip report, I do miss doing Ryanair-Europe trips together... It still makes me sad I was sat reading books on the history of Prague and Budapest whilst you were there -
How many annual passes do you have?
Fry replied to Electerik's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I usually get a Merlin/Tussauds one for Alton/Thorpe/Chessington, but, between getting in on friend's staff vouchers, free tickets and just... not going, there wasn't a point this year, so I sit at a big, fat ZERO! I don't really like hitting one same park over and over again, I get bored easily, so, they're not really my thing anymore. -
Robb Alvey on In The Loop Podcast!
Fry replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Haha, was We Didn't Start The Fire just an awesome coincidence? RetroActive <3 -
Well, no, they're not as generous as they sound! They haven't refunded anyone anything, they're just now getting people who wouldn't normally come back to come back (because it's "free") who then buy food, drinks and fastpasses! They were giving free tickets out yesterday as well though, which was funny. I'm going tomorrow because Saw opened and ran today, so I'm hoping it'll be a case of fourth time lucky!

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
Fry replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Went today at it was just stupid! The only rides I got on were Colossus and Inferno and Colossus was only because we got exit passes - the queue was about 90 minutes. We did at least get free tickets to return but that isn't really the point! -
Saw - The Ride (Media Day) 12-03-2009
Fry replied to StealthFan's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
<3 We'll have to go get queenie on them if it's not open. haha, but, today was funny! I'm sorry I had to keep flitting between groups It was a shame it didn't work, but, will get on it Saturday (in theory!) so, I'm not that bothered. And getting a few rides in, even on Colossus, is better than sitting at home! -
Where in the world are Robb & Elissa? Part III
Fry replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think this is possible, there's a media day at Thorpe Park on Friday 13th March for Saw. Or, maybe more importantly, the Coaster Club day on Thursday! (not that I actually think they're coming for Saw, I'd like to maintain that's a massive red herring, simply because it would be hilarious!) (... though, if it is Saw, may see y'all there ) -
I'm having trouble downloading Raw 2, the steel version. It all goes fine until it asks me to click through to Paypal, when it decides "The link you have used to enter the PayPal system contains an incorrectly formatted item amount." And then won't do anything else. I was alright getting the Wooden version last night, but, am having trouble now. I tried in IE and Firefox as well?

Attention TPR Members in Spain!!!
Fry replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Culture...? In Malaga...? I must have missed that when I was there -
^Haha, I always forget TPR changes some stuff to 'I like small boys in tights"... And I definitely agree, Daniel's Rod is a lot better than his Princeton. I mean, his Princeton is good, but, like you say, the accent can be a bit off. His Rod, on the other hand, is sublime and hilarious. Plus, he's goooorrrggeeeouuuss

I know what you mean, I too saw Julie back in 2007, but, she just felt so perfect back in the role. I LOVE her, I think she's absolutely perfect for the part and does it so well, and I agree, that look at the end of Mix Tape still cracked me up this last time. Her Fine, Fine Line is just amazing as well, that song always upsets me, but, she made me want to cry... She just seems to fit Kate so perfectly, and whoever the replacement was, I didn't like her as much. Having said that, I LOVE Mark and Daniel (I'm a bit of a Daniel fanboy, primarily because I have a HUGE crush on him ), so to see her with those two, for me, felt like a 'perfect' cast. So, it was my favourite, hence me wanting to see it again and trying to work it in to my schedule xD I do love Student Tickets, so I may go some time towards the mid of March... I'm going to see Priscilla on the 10th, so maybe I'll go to the Q on the 9th and have a musical explosion, hehe.

Yay, I saw it for my... well, 3rd and last, I'm behind... Well, I MAY go once more, I need to see what my money does. I really, really want to go again I wish I'd pulled my finger out and got a ticket for the last night, but, I'd probably cry so it's probably a good thing I didn't

I finally bought a tripod and so was playing with it around London, and here was my favourite of my first results.
-
^Yeah, I really liked her too, though I just kept thinking "omg, it's the girl from Mean Girls, yay!" I just got the soundtrack to Jesus Christ Superstar, and I'd forgot how much I like this show! I really hope it comes back at some point...

Montu's Wonderful World of Photos .....
Fry replied to Montu Maniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've not got any appropriate park pictures, but, here's some I just tried out with that tutorial... Didn't take long with that tutorial, the second one doesn't look very different though, I didn't want to make it REALLY fake -
I live just up the road from St Pancreas station, which I think is one of the most awesome places ever (I'm a dork, yes), and while I really went down there to do some reading (I'm a mega-dork, yes), I did take my camera. This is (I think) a WWI or 2 statue This I just liked, lol And this was me playing with my other lens

Ever had a black out on a coaster?
Fry replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I black out on a LOT of stuff. I don't do too well in the heat, and combined with lots of walking and coastering, it often leads to me blacking out. I won't even start listing, because it's really every coaster I've ridden in a hot country... It's probably not the best thing to have happen though, might be an indication of something not wonderful with my body... -
Camelot Theme Park Goes Into Receivership
Fry replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really liked Knightmare but... that was it! I went twice, once in 2007 and then again last year, and both visits the park was absolutely dead and really, really sucked! If you're questioning why I would return, it's because a friend wanted the credits and I'm a good person so went too... plus, I wanted to ride Knightmare again before what I figured would be the inevitable happened... I only visited it last literally a few days before it closed for the season, yay! Some sort of record there... I need to stop visiting parks, that's Southport, Coney Island and now Camelot that have all announced they're closing just after I've been... or maybe I should just start visiting SFA more? -
It's snowing here in London, so I did the 'sensible' thing and went for a walk. My local train station And my uni!
