  1. Batman looks bored... I wonder if he's wishing it was a certain someone else... V Yeah, lol...
  2. Awesome! I've never seen this film before, it says a lot when this looks so much more realistic than the crash in Final Destination 3 Although, I was disappointed when they didn't blow up Rebel Yell. THAT I would have loved to see.
  3. ^I dunno, I think it's clear from the layout that even if it was *exactly* the same ride type as X (it won't be, lol, just, humour me), it still won't ride like X because it... well, does something I don't understand the whole noise test on X thing though, it does seem a little odd cause the plans don't show the track being anything like X and if it was a Vekoma, it'd almost certainly use the new track type... surely? I really don't think it's going to be too similar to X, I wouldn't worry about it.
  4. I'm not trying to stir, but, I did just this to give the new site a chance, and started reading. I started at the first line on the home page, and got four words in before, lo and behold, I ran into my first grammar mistake... Just sayin'
  5. I just read The Catcher in the Rye this past weekend, and LOVED it. I thought it was witty, observant and had the most wonderful ending where everything just came together. I cried What I loved the most was the style of it, it was so brilliantly written, you could really believe this was a real 16 year old writing. It has gone on my "OMG MUST READ AGAIN" list. I'm also struggling through the novel of Les Misérables, but at 1300 pages, it's taking me a while...
  6. I wasn't thoroughly impressed with this at first, I thought "Mack... launch... inversions... mmm..." But, with every update, it's looking better and better. I'm certainly looking forward to riding it come September.
  7. It is certainly not... I'll repeat... NOT going to Alton Towers. This is for multiple reasons that have been said already: 1. It would be manufactured in Europe. 2. Alton have released detailed plans for planning permission, which are required to show track type as it will look. These plans show bi-rail track like Intamin and Premier use, NOT the kind B&M use, and CERTAINLY not the kind of track these are. 3. Alton also said their coaster will be a dark color, which has yet to be decided (this is, I believe, on the plans), so, it won't be yellow! 4. Planning permission hasn't been granted yet, and it's looking a little rocky at the moment. This means it's VERY unlikely any parts of the coaster will have been made yet. There's really 0% chance of it going to Alton. And I know all this has been said, but I just wanted to re-emphasize it.
  8. I have a ticket to the very first night of Priscilla here in London! I'l SOOOO EXCITED I LOVE the film, so going to the first night is just.... AGHHHH I CAN'T WAIT
  9. Those photos of CP are awesome! There's even more to MF's stupid cattlepen then I realised, haha! I know it's cheeky, but do you have any more 'overview' shots of Mantis' control panel, I'd LOVE to see that I won't be selfish though, here's some of mine from East Coast/Behemoth this summer. Most have been posted already, but I'll add my 'spin'. Flying Turns brake run! Over to DarKastle And Behemoth
  10. I agree with what has been said, that was freakin' HILARIOUS! SFA almost redeemed itself by having a Dippin' Dots freezer at lunch, until I realized it was empty Hopefully they can turn the place around, cause I agree, the management at ERT did at least seem genuinely concerned. WalMart and Hooters were MILES better though!
  11. Thanks I ended up getting a Canon EOS 1000D, which I THINK is a Rebel XS in America... but I'm not sure, hehe. I got two lenses with it, a 18-55mm one and a 70-300mm one. And I like the one of Talon... mmm... Talon
  12. I have a new camera, yay... So, today I went to play with it for the first time round the city and...
  13. Nope, Mummy is full-circuit. Yeah, it does mean it's possible, but not a World First. It could however just be that it's the World's First ______ with a backwards launch.
  14. Yeah. It's VERY weak (so is the forwards 'launch' as well though), but, it definitely accelerates you backwards. Obviously, the same goes for the clones and the one or two others that still remain. Also, the Mummy at USH has a backwards launch if we're going for a complete list, lol. That's probably the strongest one around if I'm not wrong? And the Impulses! I think that's all, lol.
  15. A backwards launch has been done multiple times before. Heck, Arrow were doing it 30 years ago! However, I wouldn't be surprised if they fobbed us off with a backwards launch as a Worlds First (think, something that has been done before but improved/done by a different manufacturer described as a World First... sounds a lot like Air!). And I'm not sure these are dummy plans... I didn't think the Gloomy Wood coaster plans were ever submitted for permission, they were just released. If I'm wrong, fair enough, I may just be remembering incorrectly. But, I only ever remember seeing them on fansites...
  16. Yeah, I'm 99% sure that rumor originated from BPBGuide. I would not doubt if that highly annoyed the management, because a lot of enthusiasts (including me) fell for it because it seemed so true. What about the GP that would/might have read that? If that was one of the issues BPB took up with the Guide, I really wouldn't judge the park for taking some form of action. Of course, up to this point my entire post has been speculation, lol. Honestly, my thoughts on this site aren't the best because we've had 'run-ins' despite the fact I don't think I've ever posted on there because I didn't use to hold BPB in the highest opinion and voiced that on other forums, but, I won't entirely get into it. Regardless, I really don't blame BPB for having a problem with the way they represent the park. OK, maybe they're being a little harsh, but... On the subject of Blackpool and the whole 'going downhill' thing, I'd like to say I thought the park was the best I'd seen it at last October and I had my best visit there, and most successful in terms of getting rides in (despite the fact it was the busiest I've seen it!). To compare, I hadn't visited since April 2006 since I thought the place was terrible back then, and it wasn't even my choice to go in October - glad I did, I thought the park had improved leaps and bounds! I've yet to find anyone who agrees with me though that Amanda has been a positive influence.
  17. http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=KBM3OQPG04H00 Lots more detailed plans have been put up, clearly showing the layout and track type etc. To me, the shape of the hills and turns and the use of bi-rail heavily suggest a Mega-Lite. This then matches up with the station, which is slightly shorter than Rita's, and would be perfect if it was a four car Intamin train. If it was a ML with switchbacks, that would also take care of the World First thing. The other viable option I can see is a Premier coaster, think Maximum RPM... but, one that works. If it does the rumored backwards launch this would fit in with Premier, but, I then don't see how it could be a World First? And I really hope it's not a Premier, I just don't trust them to make it as well as Intamin would. Another option I see is Gerstauler, but we can rule out Spinner and Eurofighter, and that doesn't leave a huge amount of options... I personally think we can rule out Vekoma as well, the track style doesn't match recent Vekomas of a similar scale (think Tibidabo's new coaster), nor does it match that of their Mine Trains. It's interesting, to say the least, and we can certainly rule out some things now (like Eurofighter, a significant launch etc.). I'm just not sure I hold too much faith in it being an excellent ride though...
  18. Wooden Out & Back- Boulder Dash. That counts, right? Wooden Twister- Uh... have I been on a good one? I don't want to give Lightning Racer it, since it's going to win the next one... Oh! Ravine Flyer II! That blatantly counts! Wooden Racing/Dueling- Lightning Racer! Lightning, in specific. Mine Train- WDW's Big Thunder (Paris' was really lacking last year for me) Wild Mouse- Blackpool's! Bobsled- Avalanche at Blackpool, I guess. I'm not a huge fan, but in October between the helixes there was a LOT of air. Stand Up- Shockwave, Drayton Manor (only been on two!) Floorless- Medusa, SFGAdv Mega-Looper- Dragon Khan, Port Aventura Flying- Batwing (yeah, something Vekoma do better than B&M... may change after Tatsu) Suspended- Vortex, CW Inverted/SLC- Talon! Non Looper Mega Coaster- Goliath, WW Hypercoaster- Behemoth Giga Coaster- Not done one! Strata Coaster- Kingda Ka (not done TTD, don't hate!) Boomerang- Stunt Fall! LIM- Uh, RnR WDW. I guess... Arrow Multi Looper- Loch Ness Monster! Spinning- Winjas!
  19. In the Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona, they visit Tibidabo and the (now ex) Galaxi credit is seen as well as things like the Airdiver, Plane-on-a-Stick and Ferris Wheel. Yeah, I'm just watching it now and went "OMG CREDIT I HAVE!!!111!!1!!"
  20. Hehehe, Roxie! I've LOVED reading your PTR of the awesome trip! Aghhh! I loved it and MISS YOU! All it's doing is getting me more and more excited for next year when we get to hang out again! AGHHH! YAY! Though, I look TERRIBLE in some of the photos... and YES I do have the other version of the Log Flume picture Counting down til the next one!
  21. I spent £120 in Desigual (a Spanish designer with two UK shops, both in London, who make the most gorgeous clothes/accessories, though their tops are foul). I bought a wallet (45), a bag (60) and some underwear (15). They were my post-Christmas present to me!
  22. For me, neither of the versions of the video lagged or stalled at all. They both played perfectly. And both loaded at roughly the same speed. I also didn't notice much of a difference in quality, but I'm rubbish at that anyway, I'm the guy who stands in a shop looking at a HD TV going "I just don't see the difference, damn it!".
  23. Well, it's not so sure anymore. It was going to leave, but now it might be staying. Typical Spanish
  24. The cool thing is, the park's Galaxi they're getting rid of at the end of this year is called Muntanya Russa too! But, I wouldn't hold your breath for a too exciting name, the rest of the park's rides are basically called "Pendulum", "Tibidabo Express" and "Airplane"... naming isn't Tibidabo's strong point, lol.
  25. Funniest. Show. Ever! All I can say about it! I can't wait to go see it again before it closes in London.
