We have a POV! I've uploaded one over on Coasterforce, which can be found here The video was taken by Dn. Oriol Monroig, or Oriolat on here, so all credit goes to him!

Haha, no! I love Alton, Oblivion and Rita are some of my favorites in this country. They were both very high up in my poll! For me, it's that Air and Nemesis just plain suck, lol! I can't think of a coaster duller than Air, and it cuts into my neck and presses my shoulder bones which I find VERY uncomfortable - a problem I had with Superman Ultimate Flight as well. Then Nemesis beats me up pretty bad and I find it pretty damn forceless. I just always come off like "uh... WHAT?!? That was crap and my ears hurt!" At least G Force entertains me while strangling me to death via my hips! Though I don't pretend to be anywhere near a majority on anything! Got a chance to visit the US this year and I definately agree with you on that point. It just seemed like it was designed to run faster. I found both Storm Runner and Nitro to be way better rides. Seems like it might have had a 'bad season'.... Mmmm... yes, I LOVED Nitro and Storm Runner. I preferred a LOT to Superman, but it's still a top twenty ride for me. I just don't really 'get' Intamin ejector... I don't 'get' the whole appeal of it? The only Mega I've really, really, really loved was WW's Goliath, which is still my favorite steel in the World. Apart from that, give me B&M floater any day! It's just a lot more fun, and that's why I ride coasters, they're fun. I just find Intamin ejector rapes my hip bones more than anything!

I agree... but only if it's Nemesis that's not THAT good But, if it was up to me, Nemesis would be down somewhere near 300 , and Behemoth... well, I think I put that third I also didn't think Superman was a number one in the World coaster, at least not this year. The thing that gets me the most is Parque Warner in Madrid's Superman as the World's best Floorless!?! NO WAY! That thing sucked! Dominator and Medusa East were light-years ahead. And the other three Floorlesses I've done for that matter! And Nemesis Inferno above Talon makes me sad! That's all I see that really makes me thing "uh... WHAT?!"

New Coaster for Parque Warner Madrid
Fry replied to Team Thriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Construction has started, but only as far as land clearing, and the start of footers as far as I know. I was looking at some pictures on a Spanish Forum the other day, but I couldn't link them now... Although, with the Splash Battle they built sat there not opening for whatever reason... *shrug*... Exciting times! -
Favorite Coaster at KD
Fry replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really enjoyed Dominator. Certainly my favorite in the park. Volcano was cool, but nothing worth writing home about. Everything else sucked. Well, I guess... no, everything else sucked -
^Hahaha, I always end up in Pinky, which is fine by me! I thought this October it was running amazingly! Obviously rode it a lot, hehe! I still stand by the fact it's the best coaster at Blackpool. Although it did nearly kill me... I shouldn't ride it with two people in a car because the airtime pushes my head very close to some wooden beams, lol. So, nothing has changed at all in terms of ride, it just looks a lot better. So, yay!

I LOVE Sunset Blvd! It's probably my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. I actually like most of his stuff, even if it can be a bit cheesy at times. But I do agree about Cats. A couple of good songs in there, but I don't care for the show itself. OMG, well, I went to see Sunset Boulevard last night... IT WAS AMAZING! The last 20 minutes or so are the most emotionally charged of any show I've ever seen (sorry Les Mis!), I was in tears for that whole part! It was amazing! The cast were amazing as well. Their versions of Sunset Boulevard and As If We'd Never Said Goodbye both got well deserved standing ovations because the cast's voices were amazing! I mean, I've heard the title song a thousand times done by a million people (IMO it's one of the best musical songs ever), and that was probably the best I've ever heard it. The only problem I had with the show is that it suffers from what a lot of Webber's shows do - they repeat one small piece of music over and over and over again. I mean seriously, how many times it that little flute bit at the start of the title song repeated throughout the show, lol? The whole production was amazing as well. It was very minimilistic and every cast member played an instrument as well, so the orchestra were the cast, and it was all done on stage. It was just amazing to see people one second playing the flute, putting it down, singing a line, and then picking up a violin. They guy who played Joe played FOUR instruments throughout the thing! FOUR! And obviously, he acted the whole thing too... it must have been exhausting! But, spectacular, and that's true talent. I'm not sure what his name was, but I think we'll be hearing a lot from him in the future because he was... awesome (and totally GORGEOUS as well, hahaha...) Agh, it was brilliant. I thought I disliked Webber (cause Cats and Joseph... well, they suck!), but, between that and Phantom he has gone up in my estimations. Now, which do I prefer out of those two... that's going to be the real question... Probably Sunset actually, the more I think about it. So, yeah, if you find yourself in London in the next few weeks that would be a definte recommendation! I may go again, hehe...

Hehe, musicals are what I do in the off-season First off - so jealous! Her "On My Own" at the 10th Anniversary is my most-watched YouTube video, hehe. I saw Les Mis in September here in London, and I LOVED it. Weeped like a baby. I've also seen (all West End apart from those I marked): Avenue Q. Seen this twice now, and LOVE it. It's so funny. I'm so sad it's leaving London in March, but I'll go see it again because I am in serious love with the current lead, hehe. Joseph. Again, twice, but the first I don't remember cause I was five... my first musical . I don't really like it, but I went to see it again last year because my dad was paying! The Lion King. Love it. Wouldn't want to see it again for some reason though... and the cast we saw wasn't the best. Shame. Wicked... with Idina over here doing it! Awesome! Love the music, but there is something about the first half of the second act I don't like... the end is great, but... the first half of that act annoys me. La Cage Aux Folles . This I saw a few weeks back, and LOVED it. It's so funny, but has so much heart, some amazing music, amazing dancing and the current London cast is one of the best you could hope for. If you're over here, go see it! But, be quick, it only has a few weeks left! Hairspray. I liked this, but, it's not amazing... The Producers. Seriously funny, and I do like the music. I don't think it stands up to the test of time, however. Phantom of the Opera. Beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Chicago . Fantastic. The minimalistic set really works, and the music and dancing is second to very little. The dancing, especially, is probably the best I've ever seen. My Fair Lady (regional). This I loved as well! So sweet, and a true classic now. Again, the music's amazing, and I just adore the story, it makes me want to weep... and I've always had a thing for Henry Higgins... hehe Cats (regional). This I HATED. I've never disliked a show... until this. It was SO boring. I just didn't "get" it... Follies (regional). Loved this. It deserves so much more praise then it gets. It's funny, has some amazing music, and is just plain Sondheim. That's one thing that upsets me about the West End... it's far too much Lloyd Webber and not half enough Sondheim... who is SO much better! The King and I (regional). This was OK... I was a bit young I think though... And I'm going to see Sunset Boulevard on Monday! Yipee! I'll report back . I WANT to see Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia, Priscilla and Legally Blonde over the next year. And I've been in Cabaret as a waiter... yay... and then Guys and Dolls as Benny South... street? Can't remember, hehe. That I loved, but the title song is SO hard when they think it's a good idea to remove the instrumental... ever think it was there for a reason, ie., so the singers don't DIE? EDIT - I'm SO thick! I made that post and forgot the BEST show I have EVER seen - The Rocky Horror Show! I LOVE the film, it's my favourite ever, but, as a show... it's just something else! Want to see that again... and again... and then again

Haha, I did ask Britney if she wanted to come, but she said she already had most of the credits and so was gonna try and get on Scandi instead And yay back at everyone! So excited, hehe. And yessum, I shall indeed be a teenage Brit... but only just still a teenager by then... OK, that's scary... Roxie, you know we have to find a woodie to sit on at the back for a whole hour again, right . -
Mitch Hawker's Wood & Steel Coaster Poll 2008
Fry replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hehe, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks Goliath is better then S:RoS! Goliath is awesome, I love it... though I had more coasters between the two, lol. And I'm really glad you liked Dragon Khan so much (I think I had that above S:RoS too, hehe), it's still my favourite B&M Looper (I can never decide for overall B&M if I like Behemoth just a little more...). Kumba can just... well, not even touch it IMO! I think my top fifteen steel were... (Well, 1. favourite wood coaster) 1. Goliath, WW 2. Behemoth 3. Ultimate, LWV 4. Dragon Khan 5. Apollo's Chariot 6. Furius Baco 7. Storm Runner 8. Nitro 9. Sheikra 10. Talon 11. Griffon 12. Ride of Steel, DL 13. Superman Ride of Steel, SFNE 14. Fahrenheit 15. Kingda Ka and then my wood was... 1. Boulder Dash 2. Ravine Flyer II 3. Phoenix 4. El Toro 5. Silver Comet -

Talon was better then Montu. End of -
For some reason it was hating my Yahoo, but then I tried a different email, and it worked, yipee. It probably had much more to do with me doing something wrong on the form though, lol. Now I've watched this one though, I have nothing left to do but wait for the post man to hurry up with my Raw 2 and Japan DVDs!

I'd hardly call the one in Valhalla a 'water vortex'. It's a load of jets that are supposed to go over the boat, don't and just hit and soak you. ... assuming it's working, that is The one on Poseidon's was AWESOME. I remember it making a lot of noise and just being so cool. I can't really add a lot else to this part that hasn't already been said... ... the rest of the attraction? Not so much. So, if this turns out to be true, I'll be really sad. But, may as well put the last nail into Lost Continent's coffin, I suppose.

^The coaster has been completed, wiring has began (I think), the queue line, entrance and station are being constructed, the trains are on site and supposedly were put on the track yesterday (though I've not got it confirmed that happened), and I think the lift hill motor and chain have been tested. ... I think. That's all from memory so may not be 100% I'll poke Oriolat and get him to confirm and add whatever he's told me and I've forgotten and what I've got wrong, lol.

Remembering the 2008 Roller Coaster Season!
Fry replied to Speeddeamon128's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine was the best ever, for sure. 1. Broke 200 and 300 coasters, with about 170 odd new credits. Still two to go I hope, lol. 2. Behemoth/East Coast tours were THE highlight. 3. I don't know for sure, but I'd say I rode about 250 coasters this year, and between 40 and 50 parks . 4. Rode 15 of my top 20 for the first time, including all my top 3. 5. Probably doubled my wood count (probably!) 6. Rode a GOOD woodie for the first time . 7. Got my first Canadian credit! 8. Rode a lot of unique stuff, stuff I've wanted to ride for years, and a lot of crap! 9. Did my first media snooping. -

Fry replied to mash80's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awwww, you can only see my hair in that big geek group photo, lol. Shame, cause I was there reppin' in my TPR shirt. Though it was far too cold for just a t-shirt on, so I was only reppin' for about 5 minutes over the whole day . It was a great day though. My ride count was pathetic for it being that quiet - six, haha... -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread
Fry replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, yesterday was the last day, and Alton put on quite a good show for it, although unfortunately, not many people turned up for it (I heard 3000 as a gate figure, and with them running coasters on two trains, I think they expected more). They had a small museum set up with memorabilia from the 80s, 80s-style entertainers, music and all this. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of real fuss made when it shut - no announcements, no clapping or anything... it just stopped going. There was also a LOT of press there as well from all over the country, and it has been thoroughly covered over here with a lot of emphasis placed on the replacement being awesome. I was even interviewed for national radio, which I hope to God they don't broadcast because it was very, very bad. It was overall a sad day, but we managed to be on the last public train ever (other then the competition winners who DON'T COUNT!), so that was a fitting way to say goodbye. -
^That's funny, it didn't look like you were at Alton on the 27th when I saw ya Tom . And I'm SO glad Rita was open when we went on the 28th! Especially since she was running beaaauuuttiiiffulllyy (as usual!). Not QUITE so glad that Corkscrew was open... Loved the PTR Dave, I didn't think much of Terror of the Towers (but, it was MILES better then last year!), but I did like the overall event more this year, felt more thought out this time. Didn't get to do the hotel mazes this year (had to get up north towards the fit Ultimate), but, Room 13 was the only one of the two I liked last year, and they ripped that out... so... eh. And they actually let you ride the front of RMT? LUCKY! Lol, we were stuck with the middle on that because the front few rows were shut every run (which was weird, I think it was disabled, but it was literally like, 8 per ride, which was a LOT), and the back was constantly taken by Fastpassers. Still, even there, it IS better then Nemesis . Especially with fabulous ride ops, hehe. I'm blabbing... loved it! Alton's awesome though .

^Party bus is where it's at! ... miss that set of wheels. But, speaking as someone who went on a trip with one of my best friends, I'm sure he won't mind me saying, by the end of it we didn't hang out much anyway! You may find yourself wanting too much to hang out with other awesome people, lol! Plus, bright side, there's still gonna be the coasters . ... now, I'm gonna go cry into my pillow some more over not doing a TPR 2009 trip...
