  1. Hmm--beaches, the Florida Keys, the Everglades, conch chowder. Yeah, there are a few other things in Florida. I can attest to this. I have been on vacation in Florida 3 times without ever stepping foot in a themepark. My parents have gone down every year for the last 10 years, sometimes several times a year, never going to a theme park. Ever Heard of Spring Break? Yeah, beaches, nice weather, hot men. Sounds like a perfect vacation to me.
  2. I'm sorry Big Mike. To all the single ladies out there, Big Mike is a really great guy with a heart of Gold. Note his T-shirt is also gold in color. I believe he may even have that shade of gold trade marked now. (Team Larry, hush your mouth)
  3. I like this idea. Good luck with it.
  4. Terry, There is no way in hell I am going to try and compete with you in Europe. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Jon -"The one drink wonder"
  5. I completely agree with your point. I, however, would read all of it religously. When my bridge opened, there was a poll on the website of the local paper that let anyone write what they felt about it. It wasn't good. It wasn't well written. Much of it was stupid and pointless. But I read every little bit of this painful stuff about the thing that i spent 5 years of my life working on. Why? It was my baby and I wanted to know what everyone thought. And you know what, amongst a sea of drivel, there was an ounce or two of good points. Not necessarily stuff I could have changed, but it was VALID. Completely ignoring everything is not good.
  6. I can understand that they just finished this project and want to feel good about doing something. I could even understand the desire to ignore the criticism for a bit, but that is not what it sounds like this guys is saying. It sounds (to me anyway) that the guy thinks that disney fanboys/girls complain to much and therefore should be ignored. Yes they complain too much, but does that make everything they say invalid? NO. Everyone should strive to get better at everything they do. Imagineers are no different. Saying or believing otherwise only leaves to mediocrity and stagnation; not good things.
  7. Color me unimpressed. I am guessing the ride will be better in person, just not what I was expexting in the least. The edges of the sceens are soooo visible. Even in Delta Dream Flight and the Mexican boat ride (have no idea on the name), they were very careful to hide the edges of the screens to make the experience more in depth. IT was cheaply done, but it was done. I was expecting that trend to continue. They could have even done painted plywood cutouts like the Simpsons did on the preshow tv's. Spin a bit, shoot at an awesomely huge tv, spin a bit shoot at another awesomely huge tv.
  8. For the photo uploading, if you can add tagging, perhaps you could have park or attraction tagging, rather than people. It might make cataloging pictures and linking them to park pages easier. As far as profile pages. I agree about the personal FACE picture being added. If something besides a face is added, i am sure bantron could use a 24hr snack. I like seeing who I am talking to, it is why I ALWAYS have my face in my avatar. If it is minor tweaks, perhaps add age next to birthday (Maths is so Hard) other possible links (facebook, myspace, etc.) Another thing may be to add another layer to the calanar that allows members to say when they are going where (if they'd like) to allow for meetups. Adding the ability to click on the link for more information like details of when they are going to be there or contact information, and perhaps even a link to photos or a thread if they are uploaded. This way, if you keep older years up and someone was wondering what park XYZ was like on such and such a weekend, they could go to the calandar and see if anyone had been there on that weekend.
  9. I currently use plastic, but I am also in the process of shopping for re-usable bags at the moment. http://www.reusablebags.com/
  10. How it will be viewed by people who eat meat is a better question. (Personally, i view it as ick)
  11. more better? Hmm. Maybe to you prefer to kiss girls, but your friend doesn't and I am sure the gay guys here certainly don't agree with you. I personally prefer kissing men.
  12. Apparently we have similar minds. Wow, what a beautiful park, thanks for sharing it with us.
  13. Congrats on finally getting RCT3. Looks like a nice little park. Having lived in the Finger Lakes Region i must admit I share your love of the area. Absolutely gorges.
  14. I don't think an individual can really do this by themselves. I remember back in HS before the whole "Day of silence" came about, we did something similar for Drunk Driving Awareness. THroughout the day a bell would toll (i think hourly or something), and 10 more people would die, have their face painted white and would be unable to speak for the rest of the day. (I could be off on the numbers). The number of white faces started growing throughout the day and had a big visual inpact in the halls, something that simply not speaking does not do. I am all for victim awareness, be it drunk driving victims, domestic violence, or closeted gays. (actually I am least enthusiastic about the last one, and yes, I am gay.) I just don't think how this is done does all that much to raise awareness.
  15. ^It's not the Big Mike roadshow coming in June/July, it is the TPR Europe Trip with Big Mike also appearing on the second stage. He likes to think he is headlining the tour, but it just isn't the case. Great update. This is a place I have always wanted to go to, and soon I will!
  16. Wow, Adventure Park looks really clean and well maintained, seemingly a rarity for this type of place.
  17. ^ Wow good eye. That does make this seem a bit fishier.
  18. ^ Did you actually read what he said? He went into the discussion because someone brought it up saying it doesn't make sense for vegans to be pro-choice. It was not brought up out of the blue. Hercules. Great great response. It is something i never really thought about, but your logic makes perfect sense to me. Thankyou for taking the time to write that.
  19. This is sad. I absolutely adore whips. They were my favorite ride as a child, really the only ride i remember well. That is most likely because i would ride it for hours at a time. THe last time I rode a whip was a few years back in Budapest (Vidampark Still has one). I still laughed and giggled the entire time we were riding. Someone really needs to reinvent this ride.
  20. Hijacking a bit here, but I thought it was perfect to upload this pic of me which hasn't seen the light of day here at TPR. Maybe one day I'll put together a trip report about Budapest. Grrrr I'm a Bear.
  21. I thought it was woof? Even though bears don't bark.
  22. That could be the case. I know around here we have stricter fire codes than many places do to a few big fire tradgedies where people were not able to escape buildings. My impression was that the problem was that the fire marshall wanted the building moved away from a warehouse. In so doing SF in essence voided their building permit because it was no longer in the location designated on the original permit. Agawam then shut the construction down because they did not get a new permit. I could be completely wrong. As far as the evacuation, you bring up a really good point. It would only be able to be evacuated at brakes, but it would be very unlikely that a train would stop anywhere else. I guess if there was a fire something could block the track causing it to stop somewhere else?
  23. With the price of steel as high as it is, I am guessing that the $50 you state is way off. Scrap steel is getting some of the highest prices it ever has. Good for six flags. Very few companies right now can say that they made more this year than last. It's quite an acheivement in today's economy.
