  1. I would NEVER trust wearing my glasses on a ride bigger than a kiddie coaster. I need them to see, and it would royally suck if I lost them. I bring a case with me and pocket them for rides (in a secure pocket) or wear contacts. Because I am used to doing this with prescription glasses, I do the same with cheapo sunglasses as well, though losing them wouldn't be a big deal.
  2. I was a bit hesitant to tell you and all my UK trip buddies how much I loved Europa since I was afraid I would overhype the park. I am glad that everyone that I know seems to have loved it as much as I loved it in 08!
  3. This is a great game, though we have another thread for it. I suggest resurrecting that thread instead. game: would you rather For the record, I'd rather break the glass plates.
  4. This little park looks amazing! I am very much looking forward to visiting it in a few months. Where are all the ride signs?
  5. These were a couple of absolutely unbelievable days at a great park! The ERT was all amazing. Nemesis, Air, Thirteen, and TWO HOURS in the water park? It was wicked awesome (excuse my New Englandism)
  6. Sooo, that Pirate ship, do you know if they actually sail it? Both the winch and capstain don't look like they have too much wear. Also, who would put a step next to the capstain, honestly. As if there isn't enough stuff to trip over on deck, they put a step right wear you need to walk to work the capstain? A little, probably not well known fact: I used to work on a tall ship. Thanks for the report on some interesting vehicles. I love the look of the hovercar.
  7. Oh Larry, dear overlord of the Park Index, you have got the watercoasters at Europa bass ackwards. Poseidon is the water coaster (that you showed us the coaster track of) and Atlantica Supersplash is the... wait for it... supersplash, that the ever-so-smart teens jumped in the water mere feet from the track. (egads) This has been a service announcement from Moose, who gets a wetty from Poseidon. Great update of an awesome park!
  8. This is soooo very tempting, but not sure if I can get the logistics to work not even a week after I get back from MidAmerica.
  9. I would totally have got on a plane and flown to Hungary or wherever the hell you were to ride a Condor with you! It must be love! That Condor (at Vidampark) is the only themepark ride to ever make me actually hurl. I have never ridden one since.
  10. I would think it is the holder of the camera shaking. Otherwise that lift hill looks brutal
  11. I discovered that shortcut after our time ran out
  12. New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died, from a massive heart attack.
  13. I think I remember riding the KD rapids as a kid and absolutely loving it.
  14. What a beautiful looking park. I think I would have loved Reset, but probably would have missed a ton while shooting.
  15. I am really loving this thread. I share quite a few of the same opinions, be they about rides, hotels, or waterpark ERT.
  16. I'd gladly pay to use the Loo in a place like this as long as it's clean as this one was. This was a great surprise for a dinner stop (or was it a bathroom break?). Thanks again for all these little bonuses.
  17. Bubbleworks was the best photo/backstage tour ever!
  18. I agree, Thorpe was an odd day with the mix of the two trips. It was both sad and exciting. THis just goes to show you how awesome TPR ERT is. Apparently Larry and I were both riding flaming nemmy at the same time for about the same duration without ever seeing each other. I am guessing we were on different trains. I love front of the train rides with no waiting!
  19. ^I would think that the rides and the buildings they are housed in would need to be checked for damage before they are opened.
  20. That's the problem with the live actor mazes, you can get such different experiences. Our walk through was by no means outstanding (when compared to things like Hotel Gasten) but it had some good scares and about 4 or 5 actors that actually did stuff.
  21. Um. Ok. Thanks Lou. It looks to be a deciduous tree, which would lose it's leaves in winter if there is a winter. It's pretty large which means it's probably fairly old. It's in an amusement park. That's pretty much all I got.
  22. I know you were exaggerating, but this simply isn't true. I must have scared him 20 times in that one day alone, sometimes by just saying boo. Steve, it's all out of Love, I swear
  23. The park looked dead. I hope the park can somehow get rid of the Intamin problem and open Lost Coaster soon. How flexible is the entrance bridge? Can you feel it move while walking across it? Jon* *also a bridge enthusiast!
  24. You may have a point. PortAventura's Stampida was supposedly a halfway good coaster before its new trains. I hope the timberliners don't make The Voyage worse, but I guess you never can tell till they actually run on the coaster.
  25. Ah, memories of the Spain trip. It was a nice park, hotter than the surface of the sun on the day we were there too. Thanks for the pictures thus far, I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the park since many things have changed. I swear the guy at the entrance to the motion simulator didn't have a robe. Edit: I stand corrected, I just went through Kyle's trip report and that was one of very few clothed male statues in the park.
