  1. ^ Lol, thats what I was going to post about, just one track on this Space Mtn, but the Florida version does have 2 tracks, but they are not mirror image and are inspired by Matterhorn. This is a very interesting article that is very good with those with motion sickness, which thankfully I am not a victim of. It is also very interesting to hear to the take of the rides on someone who is prone to motion sickness, as it is an issue no one I know(besides my dad on spinning rides) has.
  2. A few hours ago I got back from the first annual OC SKA LUAU! It was an awesome show. Bands: Stupid Flanders: missed most of set as our dinner at downtown disney took a while, however, what I heard, a cover of the teenage mutant ninja turtles, was fun. La Banda Skalvera: Latin/ Spanish ska. Was pretty good, but as I am no where near fluent in Spanish I did not enjoy it as much as I was unable to sing along. Also they had some slower stuff which is okay, but I wanted something more "punkish.:" Chase Long Beach: I love these guys like crazy. A chick lead ska band with some hard, pit friendly music and awesome energy. I seem to be among the minority of people that love them though as the others in the show thought they were not great live. It may have been cause I was in the pit, but either way I LOVED IT!!!!! Suburban Legends SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN! After Reel Big Fish(Aaron Barret was hanging back stage with suburban legends BTW, but he came on stage for a sec to say hey) these guys are the best entertainers out there. They have insane energy, awesome audience interaction, catchy beats and songs, the best covers one could ask for, all rolled into one awesome band. I mean, there was a fricken BED INTRUDER cover as well as a cover of I Just Cant Wait to be King, from the Lion King! Thats awesome! Star pool Another very fun band! I was not quite as familiar with them as I was with Chase or Suburban Legends, despite seeing them live once before. They seemed to have a good number of fans, which was good, but MANY people left after the Legends, which makes me wonder if they should have been the closing act. They were awesome however and played many crowd favorites, but they dont have the charisma or energy of the legends! Anyway, fellow So Calians, if all goes well we have another annual concert right before new years eve, and if its always going to be like this years it is a fun one. All in all an awesome night! One last thing to add to this. Ska fans are the greatest people there are in this world. My friends got tired after some of the set, but I am typically VERY energetic, so I stayed in the pit area while they found some seats to just watch the band. Between the sets I was invited to join about a 20 or so person circle on the ground. WE just kept inviting more random people to the circle, and had an awesome and did things like yell the songs that were playing on the speakers between the sets. W\e got some people around us to sing NITE CLUB by the specials, which was Very Fun. Also, for some reason(maybe cause Starpool has the coolest African American singer ever) his nickname is apparently "Chocolate Penis." So between songs and before they began there was a wave with everyone cheering CHOCOLATE PENIS, and when he came out he chanted with the crowd!
  3. This is really quite disturbing XD I really like this park though, much better than twisted oak, to be honest!
  4. It seems like X would be perfect if it had awesome restrains/cars that did not hurt like hell when on the outside. That being said, I don't remember it being crazy rough(last time I rode was at WCB) but at the same time I usually make a point to ride on the inside. Hmmmm... maybe I'll try an outside ride and compare at the next WCB. Also as everyone else said...GHOSTRIDER! However, since the gravity group is practically CCI, will Timberliners be exclusive to TGG coasters, or will CCI's get them as well?
  5. ^ I agree completely, besides the fact that ADD is bs, but you are semi right about that in a sense. I have ADD, I function pretty well, sure, I don't like waiting in a crazy line, but who the hell does? If Ive got my friends with me or something the time flies, and I have never ever felt the need or desire to skip everyone else, and honestly with cell phones and stuff like that with texting and games is there really not enough to occupy the average person? I know tons of people with ADD, and all function pretty much perfectly, sure, we may have trouble sitting still occasionally, but I function fine. I usually take my medication( always when I go to parks) and if not thats my own damn fault, and I dont get an advantage cause I didn't take my medication. This issue honestly pisses me off. Everyone now a days is diagnosed with ADD, and many people are perfect with it, like my best friend with it is a straight A student, yet he has crazy ADD. Its not something that cant be controlled at all, it just takes a little more work for us to focus than someone who does not have it, yet this article makes it sound like some kind of crutch, which it really isnt if you learn to cope with it. Next there is gonna be something for overweight people because they dont fit in line. Jesus, is it really that bad to just treat every park guest the same? Everyone pays the same amount, and if someone pays for an advantage more power to them, they are getting something that will benefit them as well as the park, but for someone who just gets the perks for no reason, well, thats insane.
  6. Rare Exports 8/10 This movie was pretty bad ass, but it leaved a bit to be desired. When we get a plot about Santa killing people and an awesome premise as well as some awesome sequences leading up to it(where we learn Santa is evil) we expect more of a punch. I full on expected to see Santa running around ripping people up and things like that, but instead it was more subtle. That being said, the movie was very good. It had a feeling of being a thriller and felt like a horror movie at times, despite not being particularly scary, but the director has the knack of creating a mood of dread. The actors all did a pretty good job, and the film itself was INCREDIBLY creative, but as a warning you will see some male nudity, but it is strange and done in a very unexpected and unsettling way. The film is really for people like me who get a bit sick of Christmas, it takes the joy of the holidays and kicks its ass, but does it in a way so cleverly that we still walk out smiling, despite a rather dark premise. The film also has awesome acting and is a lot of fun and can be funny, while still feeling like a horror movie. Also, it takes quite a bit to make me feel uncomfortable, but every time "Santa" looks at the main character he has a look of desire that is creepy as well as unsettling. Over all an awesome film, but don't go in expecting what I expected, which included a total gore fest. Final thing. The film is fairly family friendly despite the one scene with the nudity(which is clearly visible, but not extremely graphic), which, although unnecessary was kind of funny. So you can watch this with other people and not really be offended, so although it is r rated it is very light on the r rated scale, so it will not offend the average person. Also Robb, Evil Dead 1 is awful, but I still rank it as a relatively scary movie as it made me jump quite a few times, and although those are not very good or clever scares, it is fun to watch with a group of people, especially on Halloween or something. MY FILM LIST FOR NEXT HALLOWEEN: 1.Evil Dead 2.Death by Dawn 3. Army of Darkness 4. Trick R Treat(awesome fun indie movie loved by horror fans everywhere)
  7. BAD ASS! My favorite movie and my favorite attraction.(yes, I like the holiday version better than the original) I can do the elevator for haunted holidays perfectly, and often do so to the amusement(or annoyance) of the others in the elevator. I have never noticed there was so much dialog in the ride however, and it is very cool that you found it all and posted it here.
  8. From 30 Rock. To everyone whose a terrorist(or simply doesn't celebrate Christmas) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I REALLY liked Big Bad Wolf, and I went before it was even close to being torn down. Granted I liked Apollo a little more, and I liked it about the same as Aplengeist, but the ride was absolutely CHARMING. I loved that it was terrain based, I loved that there was an awesome village section, and I ABSOLUTELY loved the dive by the Rhine River. All this taken into account I am sad the ride is gone, despite not being a local. However, if they build something totally bad ass, which sounds like it is happening, then I will be completely satisfied with the removal of the coaster. I loved the ride and I will always like it, I like Ninja, but that dive was awesome and is my favorite coaster ending I can think of, while ninja is one of my least favorite ride endings. We'll see what happens, but as of now consider me as someone who REALLY liked the ride, but trusts that Busch knows what they are doing!
  10. I totally agree with this assessment. The film, score, and acting were all wonderful, but the film itself was a bit force fed. Just out of pure curiosity, did you(or anyone else who has seen the film) find the disturbing sequences over the top? I didn't personally, despite cringing at a few moments here and there, but my friend found it WAY over the top, and he has seen Requiem, which I would argue was more disturbing than black swan. The Brilliant director=Brilliant Film Ghost
  11. All right Coasterkings, heres the thing... if you can get Robb to post in this thread, confirming his presence in the film, then this will be the best movie on TPR. If not then I think hoodies got you beat. Sorry to sound like a skeptic, but at the same time Robb hasn't said anything in this thread.
  12. Evil Dead 2: 11/10. A sawed off shotgun and a chainsaw have never been more awesome, and those are both already relatively awesome. This movie has everything from classic jump out of you skin horror to the awesome, twisted fun of grindhouse. This is the only movie to ever startle me(I love horror films but am very easily startled) and make me laugh my ass off at the same time. This movie also is awesome due not only to the fiendish spirits and awesome script, but also to the often over the top but always incredibly entertaining acting of Bruce Campbell. Sam Raimi is in his element with these awesome horror films, and this as well as the other evil dead movies and drag me to hell. Dont watch his remake of the grudge or his other films, instead watch what Raimi does best, a violent bad ass horror film which will scary you and make you laugh. If you are a horror fan or just want a good scare it is essential that you watch this brilliant horror film. The evil dead one(another classic, despite being essentially the same movie) is on netflix instant stream. That being said you do not need to watch evil dead to understand Evil Dead 2, and in my opinion the second is superior. SEE THIS MOVIE! This movie is so awesome that I have prepared a very bold statement... Chuck Norris is Bruce Campbells bitch. Heres evidence. SPOILER ALERT BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chuck Norris: I just used kung fu to save myself and I'm in Walker Texas Ranger Bruce Campbell: Oh, I just killed some possesed people with a chainsaw as well as cut my zombie ex girlfriends face in half. Then I fought all the other undead and eventually had to cut off my hand with the chainsaw because the possessed took over my hand. I then created a device which allows me to put the chainsaw where my hand used to be, I then killed a bunch of the possessed and sent them back to another dimension, which I am now trapped in. Chuck Norris: HOW THE #### AM I SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH THAT BADASSERY?
  13. It's hard to study for finals when there are sites as awesome as TPR! 2700th post... not at all a milestone, and not really a rant, but...I POST HERE TOO MUCH, lol.
  14. ^ That was totally my first thought...that lady was one of those people so huge they dont realize they are pregnant until it happens, and shes a bit too large to bend down and save the infant, so unfortunatley yes... it became a snack! The SOMEONE CALL CPS ASAP Ghost
  15. Where do you get the nachos from DCA? Tastepilots? Also, ewwwwww, that is not a pretty picture, that lady looks...well, thats disgusting,
  16. Awesome TR and I'm happy to see more Riddler fans as its my number one steel. Magic Mountain...in all honesty... is a bitch to maneuver around. It is HUGE, hilly, and there is really no hub or someplace that has easy access to other parts of the park, which is what works so well at most places. However, glad to see you for the most part enjoyed the park as it is my third favorite so cal park after the DLR parks.
  17. Ummmm... I cant believe this hasn't been brought up, but SYSTEM OF A DOWN IS BACK TOGETHER. FU** YES!!!! Also, I have a feeling they may headline mayhem festival next year, not that I have any official evidence to back this up what so ever, but they're Euro tour ends in early June and mayhem begins in early July. It is also the perfect US metal tour as it pretty much goes everywhere, including a few Canadian dates. BANANA BANANA BANANA TERRA CODA BANANA BANANA TERRA CODA PIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Futurama suicide booth reference FTW! Awesome TR!
  19. It's your call, but I would not get the flashpass if I were you. We were able to(relatively easily) hit up every coaster in the park (besides deja vu, but it broke) in evening ERT alone. Not to mention the 2 hours of morning ert that you have pretty much cover all the rides the GP heads to first, and if its liked last year the backstage tour takes you right into Gotham, so you can get Batman, Riddler, and Goliath walk ons pretty quick before the GP head over. Do what you want, but thats my advice.
  20. ^^ Damn, your soooo good.
  21. ^ I dont remember too much sex, but the level of gore can be pretty damn high. Just remember, it is a WEIRD ASS movie, brilliant and awesome, but weird. I recommend watching with friends as it is that kind of movie. Its very fun, but remember, its from the guys who made saw and dead silence, and while its not as gory or scary as either of those it is a musical for horror fans, so be warned, I LOVE it though. Anyone else pumped for rare exports? Best movie concept in ages!
  22. Awesome interview. I didn't know about the Civil Engineering thing...very interesting. I love his X Raptor thing, it made me laugh.
  23. You should apply to be an imagineer. I have never seen this level of creativity or detail in any game!
  24. Kill Bill V1...the crazy 88 and Oren Ishi. That movie probably has my favorite scene of any film where the lights turn on and the segment is all silhouettes, brilliant, brutal, and beautifully violent. Also the fight in kill bill 2 is awesome. STAR WARS. Lightsabers are close enough to swords, and the best one is obviously in Empire Strikes Back. Also the Yoda fight was the only redeeming thing in Attack of the Clones.
