  1. Win! 2 of my personal faves along with Patton Oswalt, and a fan of last comic sanding finals Myq Kaplan, but not from the show, from a podcast I listen to. I know this isn't the thread for this, but theres an awesome podcast I listen to called Keith and the Girl(katg.com) which is a comedy podcast with tons of indie comics, and its New York based. . Ive found some awesome people that no one else knows of such as Myka Fox as well as Jesse Joyce, among others. The only warning I give to potential listeners is it is VERY dirty, but its awesome.
  2. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MEERKATS! Dont even know if its a rodent... but I LOVE these little dudes!
  3. Oh... I see that now. I didn't notice the grid, or I wasn't paying attention to it. That look awesome K&M, VERY creative!
  4. ^ The beginnings of a guitar?
  5. Everyone keeps missing the same prize ball.
  6. From what Ive come to understand... you win the big green ball! I cant get in. I want back in line!
  7. A Moment of Silence-Streetlight Manifesto Next song is obviously a Moment of Silence... also by Streetlight.
  8. Sad news from the park today. Knotts legend, Bud Hurlbut died yesterday. He was responsible for the classics, Timber Mountain Log Ride and the Calico Mine Ride. The rest of the article can be found here. www.ocregister.com/news/-283078--.html This is very sad news as these are two absolutely classic and charming attractions as well as the best rides left from the pre cedar fair regime.
  9. Hmmmm... anyone want to do an impromptu TPR chat while playing this? That would at least make time go by. I'm going to register after I do an hour of homework and go to a friends house for a few hours, but everyone else in line can chat, and I'll be on later.
  10. We'll see what happens. I personally agree with everyone here and like the name Verbolten, and in m opinion it is EASILY the best of the 4. However, I prefer Cheetaka a zillion times over Cheetah Hunt, so god knows what will happen, especially since the general consensus(among enthusiasts) suggests that everyone hates the name Cheetah Hunt. The other names sound so generic like Cheetah Hunt, and something like that would drive me crazy. So far IMO BGW has a perfect naming record, and I love the names of ever coaster/ride as of now. I would hate to see that change!
  11. I really want to see this, but its kinda hard to find it playing. I am starting to really like indie films, and love the fact there is an indie theater close by.
  12. I dont think its an actual "crew" but more a group of people living in England who meet to go to parks, meaning (as far as I know) heres not really a leader or anything like that. The Even though theres so many of us, a so cal crew never works for some reason Ghost
  13. I may be in. I re bought RCT2 after accidentally breaking it, so I may or may not be in.
  14. Awesome stuff. I had a question/request though. I wanted to know if you had a pov of the utterly insane mine train at Park Espana. I have only seen one other decent pov, but I would love to hear your reactions(which are alway entertaining) on the mine ride, as the forces are supposedly unbelievable. This coaster is the second of my "OMG THAT LOOKS INSANE...MUST RIDE" in Japan, and the first, which I am semi obsessed with(and your pov is awesome) is Big Boom, which looks like the most awesome thing EVER!
  15. I almost wish rollbacks never happened(despite always wanting to experience one) just so the GP would not have a panic attack when riding. There are countless videos on youtube that have people calling rollbacks a serious accident, or people saying they thought they would die due to a roll back. It also kind of amuses me when people freak out, does it not occur to people that the chances of dying or sustaining serious injury on a coaster/ride(unless its a vekoma ) is ASTRONOMICALLY low? If people are scared of coasters they should be MUCH more scared of driving a car, as chances of a car accident are MUCH higher than dying on a ride/coaster!
  16. For other band suggestions I have 2: 1. Ozzy Osborne/Black Sabbath 2. QUEEN!!! ( ) Anyway, the park looks AWESOME SO FAR! I love your creativity as of now, and the rides and buildings are very good for being no CS!
  17. Top 10s are VERY HARD for me, but I was thinking of this before and Ive got a top 5. 1. Black Swan 2. True Grit 3.Pirhana 3d(seriously, watch before you judge!) 4. Toy Story 3 5. The Social Network. I do plan on seeing The Kids are All Right and the Kings Speech ASAP, although in 2011.
  18. Loved last year and I pretty much turned my friend into enthusiasts. For anyone who is on the fence, both of my friends are not into theme park much, they like rides, but have very little/no interest in ride manufacturing/the ride itself or theme park information and news. I was enthusiastic and excited, yet my friends both begrudgingly paid, saying there is no way it would be worth it. To this day each one of them will tell you that West Coast Bash was BY FAR the best day they have ever had at a theme park, and as of now both have set aside some money specifically for West Coast Bash, each each say it was EASILY worth all the money! Seriously, come to this event, it is honestly the most awesome day I have had at ANY(including Disney)theme park EVER, and this is coming from someone who is a much larger Disney fanboy than a six flags fanboy. There is a reason why Robb is so well liked by coaster enthusiasts, and it is not just for his knowledge or sense of humor, it has a lot to do with his relationships with the parks as well as his ability to plan an event that gets better every year. Also last year I was(unfortunately) only able to go to SFMM, but this year I will be at both days, and am eagerly anticipating West Coast Bash! The please let March 19th come quickly Ghost
  19. Its a bit late to answer, so I'll post a question in this thread. Did the ska band Suburban Legends play this year? I heard they play every new years eve at Disneyland, and that for me would be about worth park admission on its own as they are a favorite of mine. I keep missing them, so if its true they play every year I may come next year just to see the Legends!
  20. ADD things. That sounds weird, but I have ADD like crazy, so I love something in my hand. I have a slinky in my car, I received a finger drum kit for Christmas(where your fingers are drum sticks) and I got a magnet wheel type thing, where the magnet roles up and down the wheel. It sounds weird though, because I always need for my hands to be distracted, so much so that I will literally take objects, such as tightening strings on a sweatshirt, and fiddle with them in my hands without really realizing it. Also Ska is not really a guilty pleasure, but kind of a (relatively) new found obsession. A year or so ago I was a self proclaimed metal head, and although I will always love metal(stay SIC MAGGOTS!) I am really loving ska. I can actually mosh at a show without worrying that I will be killed by a huge guy with tattoos that is running at people and knocking them down with his elbows. The music is also much "easier" to listen to, because although I love metal, too much of it can be overwhelming, and because there are so many sub genres of metal there is a lot of it I don't like, such as pure screamo. For now ska is just my thing, a little more so than metal, although I will (hopefully) be seeing the System of a Down tour if/when US dates are announced!
  21. The wooden renaissance. We have an entire new generation of a coaster type that has been around for decades, and people are still bending ideas with the coaster as it reaches new speeds and new degrees of turns. We must also mention: Hades: The first of the Gravity Group woodies as well as the introduction of the 90 degree drop. Roar(SFDK): The first EVER Millenium Flyers can be found on this coaster.
