  1. But just because there are not many people there dosent mean the park is not making money, They could be selling alot of food/merchandise to make up for slow attendance
  2. ^Name me 3 wooden roller coasters that are 10+ years old that are not rough... then do the same for inverts....[/u]
  3. Thats though to say, look at a park like Six Flags Astroworld before it closed it was doing quite well but the management needed to look good to keep stock holders and they where not making money as a chain so one can assume because it was located in Houston (Between Dallas, SFOT and San Antonio, SFFT,) they could do away with this park and work on other parks... Whats to stop Cedar Fair from doing the same? I can see something like Vally Fair being sold or maybe KBF witch did not have a very good summer compared to its past before CF bought it... I think any of the smaller parks are at risk also because of the way the economy is right now. Its very slow for amusement parks and people wont have money to spend for sometime because of many factors in the world right now... on the other hand: Parks I think are safe: Cedar Point Six Flags Magic Mountain The Disney parks Six Flags Great Adventure Holiday world and many other chain parks, I think small parks are going to have a rough time over the next few seasons...
  4. It depends, on a ride like Tatsu I love the loop. On other rides (like a Vekoma boomerang) I dont really care for it... My favorite is probly a zero-G roll besides the flying loops..
  5. I was almost on one yesterday but a line cutter stopped that. At SFMM someone cut us in line for Tatsu and there car got stuck on the break run. It was kinda funny because it was stuck there for about 15 minutes where they couldent get to to go down they where stuck facing the ground....
  6. Looks like alot of fun! glad you had a great time..
  7. I like the idea but it will hurt, Inverted B&M coasters tend to get sorta rough after 10 years or so... Wood coaster get exremely rough after 10 years or so... Riding that ride in 10 years would just kill you...
  8. Sweet, I was also there yesterday, I had to wait 2 hours for X2 running 2 trains and 20 for Batman, the Skytower closed early due to high winds I was lucky I got to see it because we where going to do Ninja first but decided not to because it was hot and they closed it after we got up there. It annoyed me that the employees didn't know anything about anything its like where they stick the new employees. One of them told me that a picture of Psyclone was from the year SFMM opened and it was taken out like 5 years ago... He also told me the Scream! chair upthere was from the original X... I couldn't believe him. Goliath had a 3 car wait as did scream! Tatsu broke down 3-4 times during the day... Deja Vu ran part of the day also...
  9. Nice photos! I got to visit for my first time (and last I guess) 2 weeks ago and the Cyclone was rough! I mean it was worse than Psyclone at SFMM or Windjammer at Knott's, but for some strange reason I paid $5 for a re-ride and then after my second go in another seat was exiting the ride when they where advertising $3 to re-ride. That made me mad... Still a fun place to go. I like Nathans! The one thing I wish was the thunderbolt was still running
  10. ^ If you are pregnuant I would stay away this year. Wait till next year get a baby sitter and go and have fun!
  11. I also got to visit it 1 week ago. I have pictures from the cyclone and really TBH, hated the ride it was painful and people begging for you to reride it I had fun at the arcade though and ennoyed a Nathans hotdog before returning to the hotel in Manhatten
  12. are you serious? Knott's has some great shows and food! I'd spend about a half a day there see a few shows and ride the coasters. If you want to eat stop by Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner its amazingly good food.
  13. my list so far: SFMM (4 times) Knott's SFFT Disney Land Disney's California Adventure water parks: SFMM's Hurricane Harbor Soak City - Orange County plan to hit: SFoG
  14. We hear about it all the time. There are 3 billboards around Knott's about it (and I saw a Knott's Billboard leaving SFMM the other day) also non-stop radio and tv ads. I dont think there has ever been a person where I talked to about Six Flags Magic Mountain and they did not know what it was or where it was.
  15. 1) Windjammer Surf Racers - Knott's 2) Deja Vu- Magic Mountain 3) Texas Giant - SFoT 4) Rattler (great name eh?) - SFFT 5) Psyclone - Magic Mountain
  16. SFFT has this and SFMM does not yet.
  17. I was there in april and omg was it painful. Goliath was great. Short but fun. I bought the fastpass and it was worth it because it was crowded but you run out of things to do as it is one of the smaller Six Flags parks in the chain.
  18. Was at work today and someone told me the sky tower got stuck and I went to check it out on my break. sure enough it was stuck and firetrucks where there trying to get the people down. The only video I can find is a quick clip. I left my phone at home today how random... http://www.truveo.com/24-People-Get-Stuck-On-Knotts-Berry-Farm-Ride/id/3985029271 They recived free meals from Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restraunt and passes to get into the park another day.
  19. Every night we have security gard's visit the restaurant and take all the money the restraunt made. Most of that money the restaurant never sees again thats part of the problem. The other part is what N7 had to say. The employee's have no motive to work as hard as they can. If anyone every visits the restaurant in the future come on a Saturday or Sunday for breakfast or lunch and ask to be in Pams station. She has worked at the restaurant for 50 years and was highered by Mrs. Knott her self. She will tell you just how far south this restaurant has gone. Alot of times you might have to wait an extra bit to sit in her station though as she is 81 and alot of people request to sit there. If anyone is interested about her there is an article written a few years ago here: http://www.johnfry.com/pages/KnottsBerryFarm.html
  20. Well, you where right I do work at the restaurant. Most of the money that is made in the restaurant ends up going elsewhere not back to the restaurant witch is part of out problem. Another part of it is lazy employees. Some of the employees (especially the bussers) only seem to care about doing what they have to as quick as they can to get out of there. On a good note, The main dinning room was just repainted over the last couple weeks but in 3 years of working there this is the only major thing besides replacing the floor s in one of the rooms that has happened. I have never seen anyone take down the pictures for cleaning or spend extra time scrubbing down the walls. And Jim1013, The Restaurants swept and mopped every night after closing and the server's in the area are not allowed to leave without getting there area checked. instead of just getting up and leaving you should ask to speak to a supervisor about it explain what you are not happy about and hope they fix it if you ever return. p.s. On your original post you said you have a fealing that TMLR is detained for demolition, I don't think so because the roof had fallen in on it last year and they spent a ton of money to repair it.
  21. Man, Was gonna go up today but everyone I wanted to go with couldent make it due to money issues or had to do somthing else. Anyhow, Now that X2 is done with time to move on to that new coaster that is supposed to be built. ideas on what its gonna be?
  22. This little bit kind got me raged. 1. The bathrooms are not controlled by the restraint but maintained by park services. 2.While I cant say much for the old wall's I walked around the Garden room today (where you said you where seated) and did not notice missing stones or grout... The snoopy mat near the exit gets washed week but has been reused there so many times it does need replacing. 3. Further more, I do not see how that room in considered the back? The Main dinning room in the back (also the biggest) I can see being called put in the back but this room is in the middle of the restraint. Now lets ask this. If you where the manager of that restraint what would you do?
  23. I have a pass but not really up for the trip to get there its about an hour from my house.
  24. Well, Its family friendly and wasnt the dark knight coaster already manufactured when they decided not to complete it? Maybe its heading for SFMM! I wana see Colossus race! even if its only on busy days.
  25. Well if you think of it form the view, weekdays are normaly dead. They do not need to run 2-3 cars if they can hardly fill one up. When ever I go on a week day I only expect 1 train to run and maybe a 2 car wait. As for single riders they do allow them on re-rides. If you ask the ride op and there is an empty seat they almost always say go for it. Another reason its slow dispatches is this is when they train new people, get them ready to weekends and holidays.
