  1. ^thats what we though with superman but I would ride montey any time over superman...
  2. Anyone remember this one? It opened to the public for like 2 weeks
  3. Next month (March ) I will be going on the Carnival Splendor! ( there second largest ship! ) I am very excited about it. It's the largest ship we get over here on the west coast from Carnival. I do think the NCL Epic looks amazing but once again I'm also not a huge fan of the free style cruising. EDIT[/b}: Please re-size your photos before posting them in this thread. -Joey
  4. ^^ Parks don't always need to build rollercoaster to draw people as you can see they were changing things around with the removal of Chang and the addition of that bonzai water expansion. My guess is they realized that the park is more attractive as a water park instead of a theme park and thats how most of it's future would be if it were to remain open.
  5. - Favorite new coaster X ( now X2 ) - Favorite new ride Perilous Plunge at Knott's - Favorite new park DCA ( only NEW park I visited this decade ) - Most memorable park moment Six Flags Fiesta Texas with my old friends from when I use to live in Dallas. ( I can't believe we somehow all were able to meet up in San Antonio because SFOT was closed that weekend! and Astroworld was already gone ) - Most memorable coaster moment Getting stuck at the top of the chainlift on Goliath (SFMM ) - Best ERT session: 08 before knott's opened my supervisor invited me to go ride some of the rides. - Least favorite coaster The Rattler at SFFT ( road it in 08 still think I have a bruise! ) - Least favorite ride The Zipper ( common circus ride ) - Least favorite park Universal studios Hollywood - Most interesting ride you've seen introduced X2 by far. - Least interesting ride you've seen intoduced Poney Express ( knott's ) - Your favorite TPR moment (favorite post, trip report, video, whatever!) Joining the forums lol - The decade's biggest flop Hard Rock Park - The decade's biggest success - The best meal you've had at a park Johnny Rockets at SFMM - The worst meal you've had at a park - Best park turnaround Magic Mountain from going way WAY down in the dumps, looking like it might be closing, going up for sale, to a park that is making a great comeback! Very impressed with what Six Flags has been able to do with the park thank god Burke is gone! - Worst park turnaround dunno if it counts but SFNO - What was the biggest trend of this past decade?
  6. Are all Six Flags coasters named "Flashback" doomed to be rough and uncomfortable rides? Case in point: the (now demolished) Flashback at SFMM... at the Six Flags parks Flashback is general the name given to the Vekoma looping coasters, and it's really sad that most of these compact coasters didn't age well. I do have to say I am quite impressed that the Boomerang at KBF is was much smoother than the Boomerang at SFFT and it's 9 years older! So it might be a maintenance deal.
  7. I would be interested in going to knott's if it had a tour or the Calico Mine Train! I remember reading somewhere that an employee died several years ago trying to get one of the trains parked or something. should be interesting!
  8. thats why Ghost Town was featured in so many movies...
  9. This is an easy one. Superman at SFMM! I hate the damn ride! The line is REALLY slow moving, it costs a lot to maintain, consumes more power than anything else in the park, annoys EVERYONE in the park at the same time every 5 minutes it launches. and last but not least just isnt what it use to be! rcdb still has the ride listed at 100 MPH but when I asked the ride op he told me they only run it at 75 now...
  10. I dunno if anyone knows this or not but if CF or who ever is running the park ( Apollo Management ) wanted to make the park bigger they can make the back parking lot ( next to the western gate ) into part of the park, make the backstage area smalled ( use the south gate for deliveries its goes right to the ware house ) and make the park longer in the back. Could fit a few coasters or at least some nice scenery.
  11. I walked by today before the park opened ( about 9 AM ) and there were mechanics working on the ride so I think they are trying to get it back in running condition ASAP for haunt and it really stands out that its closed because the exit to one of the mazes (witch goes around and under the ride) is the entrance to the ride!
  12. I also cannot see Six Flags returning any of the rides back to the park ( could you imagen the slap in the face to SFFT if they had to give up Goliath? ) I think that besides the Mega Zepher all the rides are possible to refurbish but not at a cheap price and if six flags could get them out of there would they be willing to pay the price to get them running and relocated again?
  13. 4 and a half hours for Deja Vu at Magic Mountain ( the line wasnt to long but it broke down twice on us! )
  14. I really wish they would do something about Deja Vu, it isnt that great of a ride and the rider capacity is HORRIBLE. Also if you do try and wait it out it breaks down quite frequently ( being a season pass holder for 7 years and living 2 hours for Magic Mountain I got 8-10 times a year and have ridden it twice! )
  15. I agree, I got to try one at SFFT last year it was great, but SFMM has so many rides it might be hard to pick :/
  16. I was there yesterday and got really tired of walking! any news on the old Metro?!?! it seems like everytime I walked in the site of the tracks it was taunting me fact (for now) if you are at the park and want cold stone, go to the one in the back on Saturday they were moving much quicker ( yes I got 2 cold stones lol )
  17. Man, I was going to go tomorrow but my supervisor wouldent give me it off so I am going up next Saturday! I cant wait...
  18. I might go, I work there so its not a big deal for me, it depends if I work that day...
  19. ^^ while thats true places like Texas NYC and Los Angeles do not have to deal with that many problems.. Sure in Texas you get Tornadoes but they normally on hit a very direct path so the chances of you getting hit are low. New York has very few problems, sometimes the water level gets high but nothing thats to much of a problem, Los Angeles is earthquake prone but that docent happen every 2-3 years and if they do its minor normally. its been years from the time there has been a huge one...
  20. ^ if a lot of people agreed with you then why are more people not interested In there stock?
  21. I just think there stuck between a rock and a hard place. there is not enough money for them to live and people wont be spending money for a while so attendance will be in the crappier till 2010 at least...
  22. Just ran across this: http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/09/25/ap5473234.html Could this be the end of Six Flags? the stock is junk I was interested in it but am turning the otherway until I hear a plan that MIGHT save them...
  23. not at all. I just think they have or will relocate to another part of the world where they will not have there homes in trouble every year
  24. at the rate its going they will be or will have moved...
  25. This is really funny that you said that because a few weeks ago I was at the mountian and the guy working the sky tower said the same thing about superman!
