jimbobcoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Awesome trip report! Its awesome that KidTums finally got to her first park and her first ride credits! Looks like you all had a good time! -
So I just finished and revised my newest coaster Insanity Cyclone! It is incredibly large, features a steep drop, many airtime hills and large, sweeping hills. It is quite smooth IMO and has a LOT of airtime! I hope you enjoy and please comment! Pics are here: http://www.NoLimitsDevCenter.net/p3435 Also, this coaster uses the 1.6 Friction!! Insanity Cyclone.nltrack Download Please!

^No, they weren't racing, the closest they got to it was having both trains on the lift together, but they weren't close enough together to actually race. And also, the trains used were Colossus trains I think, I'm pretty sure they weren't Psyclone's... -

Oh, sorry, I meant to say 3 trains on Goliath I'll edit that. There were 2 trains on X, but I have been there once and there were 3 trains on it! -
First of all, I apologize for having no pictures, I forgot a camera 4/6/07 Ok, so I got to SFMM at about 4 PM on Friday and we decided to head straight to X. We got up there and noticed it was quite a long line and were told it would be about an hour and a half wait, so we decided to wait for it. It turned out to move quite well with 2 trains and quick operations. We got on in an hour and 10 minutes in the back row. Because it was the back row, I was prepared for a very rough ride, but it wasn't that rough! It was really fun and intense and offered on of the better rides I have had on it! Next, we decided to head for Tatsu. The line started past the Tatsu sign and so it didn't look too long. We were very wrong. The line moved very, very slowly. Personally, I don't understand the dual station thing because even with 2 trains, its only like one train for each and makes dispatch times in each station SOOOOOO slow. By the time we made it up to the station, we had waited about an hour and 40 minutes and still had about 40 minutes to go because it was about 7 minutes between train dispatches. We FINALLY got on and I was somewhat frustrated about how long it took to get on. As soon as the ride started, I forgot about it. The lift is incredible and is crazy when you look down towards the ground at such a height! The ride was just great! Every element was very fun and the pretzel loop was so intense. This is a great ride and definitely ended the day on a good note! After this ride, we went to the hotel to rest for day 2... 4/7/07 So we got at SFMM at about 9:20 because it was a Saturday, so we knew it would be crowded. As we waited for the park to open at 10, there was a very annoying and loud "show" that advertised everything in the park that I wish they didn't have. It was so loud people were closing their ears! Anyway, as soon as 10 came, the park opened and we ran to X. I got on the first train on the first row! Again, it was a very fun ride, so we decided to do it again while the line was short. The line took about 30 minutes but there were 2 trains, so it wasn't bad. After the two rides on X, we made our way to Goliath, but rode Log Jammer because it was on the way. I don't know why, but I really love log rides, and it had NO line, so it was a refreshing ride. After that, we went to Goliath, and to our surprise (being the first saturday of spring break for many schools) there was only a one or two train wait for it! Did I mention there were 3 trains running? It was a very quick line, so we went twice before the line was starting to get bigger. Goliath was fun but the first drop and the second drop really don't provide airtime which is disappointing and the airtime hill is only floater air, though it is provided for a nice long time. The helix, as always, was crazy, but I just wish there were more elements to the ride to make it more exciting and a better ride, though it is quite fun! Next, we decided to head to Colossus and we found something surprising. Both sides were running! Also, on each side, there were 2 trains!!! We decided to ride twice (no line for either), once on each side and I went to the way back on both. It had decent airtime on some hills and really wasn't too rough, so it was a fun ride! After that, we rode Scream! and it was again, only about a 5 minute wait with 2 trains. I usually like this ride, but that day, it felt very vibratey and just was not much fun. Honestly, I have discovered I am not much of a B&M fan, though there are some exceptions. Next we headed to the back, skipping Riddler's and Batman because they looked like they had a line and I don't care for them all that much anyway. On the way, we rode Goldrusher, and it actually had 2 trains running, which I have never seen! We got on very quickly, and it was a fun ride, as usual. For some reason, I really love this ride! We then headed to Deja Vu but as soon as we got there, we saw there was about a 2-3 hour wait (from what it looked like). This means we can't have any hopes of riding today, right? WRONG! Luckily I know about the single rider line, unlike EVERYBODY else. I got on with only a five minute wait. I felt like I cheated, but its not cheating, its skill The ride itself, as usual, was very intense! Going up the vertical spike looking straight down, being in the VERY last row and then free falling down was awesome. Sadly, the rest of the ride has gotten somewhat rougher and left me with a slight headache, though I shouldn't complain because it was fun, and I only waited like 5 minutes! After that, we headed up the mountain and I went on Ninja with all its new and sleek paint job. It was again a very short wait, only about 10 minutes! The ride was great! I love all the swinging and the slight airtime you get when you swing from side to side at some points. A very good ride that is a good way to get yourself a break from the more intense rides (also, there were 2 trains running!). We then went to Superman: The Escape and the line looked much longer than usual, but it didn't look too long, so we waited for it. It turned out to be quite long for what I am used to for that ride. We waited about 30 minutes, and as usual, the ride was fun, just not all that thrilling, and very short. But it was fun. Afterward, we went to check out Tatsu but the line was WAY past the sign and would take WAY too long. We also checked the Fast Pass line, and it looked to be about 45 minutes and there were some technical difficulties, so we didn't bother. I then decided to go to Viper and make that my last ride of the day. I got to Viper and it seemed like a short line, but even with 2 trains running, it took about 45 minutes. I got on slightly nervous because it was Arrow, but there had to be a reason Jahan is an Arrowfanman, so I knew it had to be fun. Anyway, the ride was quite rough, but I could see the track and I could tell where a bad transition was, so I knew when and how to brace myself. The batwing and the final two corkscrews proved to be one the craziest feelings ever! It was so strange... there were insane laterals, then I felt like I was yanked out of my seat, then there were strong positive g's. Crazy. In all, it turned out to be a fun, intense, and butt-kicking ride! By this time, it was about 3:30, and most of the rides had very long lines and we got on mostly everything we wanted to go on, so we left the park. It turned out to be a great day, especially for a saturday. Also, there were at least 2 trains on each ride (except for Deja Vu of course) and even 3 on Goliath, so it was awesome! Thanks for reading, especially if you got through it all! I hope you enjoyed it

Thats crazy and awesome! There are probably some crazy g's at the bottom of that too! -
I felt it! It was quite long (well it FELT long ) compared to others I have felt. The funny thing is that I am always so shocked that I dont go under the door frame until AFTER the earthquake is done.

[KNEX] Project 2007
jimbobcoaster replied to Jogumpie's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Wow, I am really loving this model! The trackwork looks really smooth which I find difficult to do with K'nex. Keep up the great work, I can't wait for the next update! -
I finally made my first roller coaster using mostly custom supports, and I am glad I did because I think they look great! Inspiration Point is an amazing coaster also! It has a first drop of 210ish feet tall and is nearly vertical! After, there are many airtime hills, an overbanked turn, a helix, 3 inversions, and many close to the ground turns that make up the 7290ish feet of track that makes this coaster. I've been working on it for quite a long time, especially being a noob at custom supports! I hope you enjoy it! For pics, go to: http://www.NoLimitsDevCenter.net/p3082 Inspiration Point.nltrack

I'm loving the layout! It looks like its got some awesome headchoppers and hopefully some good airtime on some of those hills. Can't wait for more updates! -
I also noticed that Lisebergbanan did very well. That ride looks really fun and fast. Its cool to see a coaster about 20 years old do so well! And by the way, about EGF, it is in no way a bad coaster. I personally love it but in my opinion, it isn't all that exciting after the first (great) drop and first 2 airtime hills, though it is still a great ride.
