  1. 45 min posted time for Banshee was only 25! Diamondback operations. ..abysmal. Line at the steps should be 5 minutes. It was about 15 because every train was stacked. Dispatches every 5 minutes.
  2. My buddy and I are going to go in for ERT and crank some rides on Banshee, I'll be wearing my TPR shirt so say hey if you see me! I'll be around until noon or so.
  3. Great report! Those mini Frisbee rides look fun, I'd love to check one out. Nicely themed parks..glad you had a good time. Haven't seen you post in a while non German Tom! Good to hear you're doing well.
  4. Ditto! Ride looks very smooth and packed with airtime. Glad to see it's in such great shape. But Voyage looks like it one upped this ride by a mile, I would need another stand out coaster to make the trip up to visit MIA
  5. Haha! Excellent trip report, the captions are hilarious! Looks like a charming park, I hadn't seen it since a TPR trip rolled through. Funny to see that drop tower open since the Busch one appears to be down consistently.
  6. AWESOME trip report with lots of AWESOME photos of AWESOME rides The park is beautiful, thanks for showcasing that and not just sticking to the rides. I haven't seen Balder in quite a while, glad it got some attention!
  7. A nice read! I would have loved to meet a TPR member at Holiday World, there seemed to have been many "ex" TPR members and only a few of us active members there. It was a fantastic day. Completely agree with you about Banshee, although I really enjoyed the ride. Didn't really think it was a disappointment. Although I never thought about Kings Island being a bland park, the Rivertown area has slowly faded away and so has the Oktoberfest section. Meh.
  8. Thanks for posting tons of photos! This event sounded like an absolutely fantastic time. A marathon, for sure being 24 hours. But lots of cool, fun things to do! And I guess people figured they'd wait 5 hours to meet Maleficent since they had 19 other hours in the park!
  9. Raven is so hard to photograph, and since I hadn't been there in years I was really trying to ride the rides. As you can see from the photos it was a crappy day to take photos (with on and off rain early and dark clouds 90% of the day). I also ran into my old room mate from the Texas trip 2009 at the event, big shout out to LUKO! Nice to see you again! Hey there are other rides besides Voyage! This is the most you can see of Raven inside the park. See the dark wood? Fresh rides after the rain B) Do you see something missing here? Nothing that miss! The trip would not be complete with out Turkey sho..I mean calling challenge! Luko and other ACERs getting their whorish credits in. Gettin' down and dirty with Holidog Here's another look at the beautiful Raven. An excellent anti-Beast coaster. Seriously, there was an Acer trying to argue with his/her kid about whether Voyage was a wood/steel coaster. But first, let me take a selfie. Standing where Pilgrim's Plunge/Giraffica's tower was! Everything is pretty much there except for the tower. Voyage's computer system security gets 1/10. Let's get a rare look at the maintenance bay! A look from the transfer track What's going on under there? Let's CHECK IT OUT We're under the Voyage! Someone made a big mess down here! Rejoyce! the sun came out for ERT! AND they added a 2nd train for us! Holiday World, you're too nice!
  10. Hey everyone! I had fantastic day at Holiday World last week, and it was my first visit in three or four years. I have only visited in the Spring, so I can't comment on "How is the Voyage, I hear it has been rough??!!" Because every time I've ridden it, it feels the same. Just the right amount of a wooden coaster roughness combined with an incredibly unique layout that combines crazy airtime, speed, and laterals. I believe it might be the best coaster out there! The Raven was great, as usual. I rode it with only one other person on the train and it felt like the train was full! I'm not a huge fan of the Legend, I rode it in the very front and very back; you know the story. Crazy laterals and a kick ass first drop. I also rode pretty much every flat ride except for the water rides because it was 50-60* out the whole day. In total I had about 15 or so rides on the Voyage, 4 on Raven, and 2 on Legend. Thanks SO MUCH to Holiday World for the Pilgrim's Café dinner, free admission, hospitality, walk back, and ERT!!! Enjoy the photos! -Zach Sparkler, much more fun than the Windseekers! This is how the sky looked most of the day. But it got sunny for ERT! This ride is massive! One of the many insane moments of airtime! Lots and lots and lots of coaster fans here today. Though I was one of the few TPR members! Flying around at nearly 70mph! The ride is nuts! Tons of beautiful wooden track Nearly 170ft tall! I forgot how huge the first hill is. Amazing. Great floaty air of the first 3 hills Hair explosion! I think this hill coming out of the triple down is my favorite part of the ride. What's yours? Look at all the nerds! The third hill is still 100ft tall! Coming out of the 2nd 90* turn. Don't you love terrain rides? OMG THE SUN CAME OUT I bet at most CF/SF parks kids would be flippin' the bird to the camera. Not at Holiday World! Crazy twistiness! Lots of rain means a beautiful green, lush forest. Let me see your hands! Just a small sample of this massive wooden coaster. All of the Holiday World wooden coasters have lots of tunnels! Giant. Hmmm what is this over here? Eventually we'd see that pieces of paper with the 66daysatsea.com were in there! The anticipation begins. Glorious hills More pictures on the way soon!
  11. Today was incredible! Huge thanks to Holiday World for having us there. Food was excellent (Pilgrim's Cafe thanksgiving spread), ERT after close, and of course free entry and Voyage walk back! Got to go into the maintenance bay, under the trains and all. Voyage ran exceptionally well, tons of different types of airtime all over the course. Rode it well over a dozen times. Raven was absolutely insane, even riding in the train by yourself it was hauling ass. Legend was laterally crazy. So glad I made the trip.
  12. TPR members where you at? I'm in line for the Voyage!
  13. Can't wait to ride the Voyage for the first time in years tomorrow! Weather looks PERFECT, 65*! Will be great to take lots of photos and ride some amazing wooden coasters. I'll be there all day tomorrow!
  14. Nooo. It does not beat people up. But it's a bummer that it has a very noticeable rattle, not as harsh as Gatekeeper, but still. It's more than a vibration though, I'm sorry to say. And I'd take a bit of roughness over a lack of force any day.
  15. I do hope it does as don't really think it is acceptable for a company that made rides which, after 20 years (in some cases) are still extremely smooth, to have any rattling issues with their new ones. I didn't think It rattled very much if at all when I went on Sunday. I had two rides in the front row, one in the back row, and one in the 4th row. The only time I noticed a rattle was when I was in the back but it only did that for a little. I didn't pay attention to which trains I were on so maybe it's just one train that rattles? I rode in the front, the back, 3rd, all over. Middle seats, outside seats. I felt a rattle on all rides. I don't believe it's only one train.
  16. I didn't have an SD card, so I didn't take any photos. BUT I will tell you all this! *Diamondback is completely unaffected by the seatbelts. You can pull them and stretch them as much as you want, and they don't lock; even through out the ride! So you're able to enjoy Diamondback just as much as you have in the past years. Trust me on this review, I've worked the ride before and ridden it probably 1,000 times. And I enjoy it more than Banshee. Banshee was great! Definitely surprised me on the second half of the ride. Through the first half (first immelman, loop, and zero g) Yeah it's massive and floaty, but after the zero-g when you hit full speed the ride kicks your ass! The upwards and downwards helix really showcase some nice forces. I love the ride! However, I don't love the restraints. After 5+ rides, my shoulders/collar bone was worn out. It doesn't keep tightening like the wing coasters did, but it's still very very very snug. On the fringe of being uncomfortable. I must be the odd man out since everyone loves these new restraints? I still like old trains better in terms of comfort-ability. And yes, it does have a rattle. Whyyyyy, oh why? It's nothing awful, but it's very noticeable. Again, people were reporting it's just breaking in? Okay. I don't believe this is temporary, but I'll be happy if the rattle goes away.
  17. I might break down and buy a pass this week. I wasn't going to go until the park is open during the week, so I could get lots of rides and explore front vs middle vs back rides. We shall see! I love hearing about it though. Hopefully Drop Zone will open soon too, if it hasn't already.
  18. I'm done with college!!! And enjoying a glass of Knob Creek!
  19. Billy Eichner goes on a hilarious rant about how there's no Ratatouille ride at Disneyland [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  20. What a beautiful looking ride. The indoor section looks great! I had no idea what this ride was going to look like, since I didn't keep up with the construction. This is just another way for little thrill seekers to take a step up to something new.
  21. Ludacris in the good way is at the Beir Garten by slingshot at Kings Island they have boneless wings for like, 6.99 (8) and 8.99 (12) and they're actually really good. Usually when I'm at a theme park I go into survival mode and drink water, and snack lightly. I might splurge on a couple drinks though.
  22. I'm bummed to see this is true, but I will hold my tongue until I ride it myself and compare it to the thousands of other rides I've taken on it.
  23. Is that Louis CK in the front row? Thanks so much for the coverage, Hanno..this ride is beautiful! Unreal!
  24. I won't miss it. The lift never really gave me a scare, the drop was kinda fun but I never loved it. It was great to watch and take pictures, but I welcome new additions!
