  1. Awesome report Erik! I share the same love for Chandu. It was so good to spend time with you on the trip! Now we need to get back for Lava Monster.
  2. Let's do this dance. 1. How many parks did you visit in 2019? Big quality over quantity year for me - Cedar Point, Kings Island, Fuji Q, USJ, Tokyo Disney Resort, Nagashima Spa Land, La Qua. I think that's it. 2. Best new-for-2019 (or new-to-you-in-2019) ride? Hakugei for 2019; New to me Do Do Donpa. 3. Name the first 3 coasters that come to mind. Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Tron 4. What was the best flat ride you rode in 2019? Pooh's Hunny Hunt 5. What is your favorite RMC under 130 feet? (cheat sheet) Outlaw Run 6. What was the last Premier coaster that you rode? I honestly don't know. Outdoor spaghetti bowl @ SFA? 7. Name a park you've been to that you're already planning to revisit. Busch Gardens Williamsburg 8. What is your home park and how many times did you visit in 2019? Six Flags Great America. Haven't been since 2016 9. What park are you most looking forward to visiting in 2020? Busch Gardens Tampa! 10. Kennywood or Dollywood? Pick one Dollywood. What, does it look like I like eating shitty soggy french fries over cinnamon bread? 11. What ride/coaster disappointed you the most in 2019? Big Thunder at Tokyo Disney. It was fun, but nothing close to the roller coaster experience like the others provide. 12. You're at Great Adventure. You play that racist-ish gong game and win a one hour ERT session for you and your friends on ONE coaster of your choice. But damn! El Toro, Kingda Ka and Nitro are all down! So you ride... Sadly I needed to go to RCDB for this one. Skull Mountain. 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? Hakugei 14. Most recent park food you ate. Ohhhhhhhyeahhhh the final popcorn to complete the popcorn trail at TokyoDisneyland - BBQ Popcorn!!! 15. What park do you wish was your home park? Universal Studios Japan came to mind first! 16. What 2020 attraction do you have the biggest boner for? Pantheon 17. What park will you visit next? Huge question mark. Either Knott's, Disneyland, SFFT, SFOT, Nick U... 18. Favorite breakfast before a day at a park? Cold brew. If I have to eat something maybe an egg sando. 19. Cedar Fair park you visited most recently? Kings Island. 20. Was it awesome? Not really. It was Winterfest so yeah, we had as much fun as we could. 21. Skyrush or Candymonium? Skyrush 22. What 2 overseas parks do you want to visit the most? Chimelong Ocean Kingdom and Grona Lund 23. The best B&M coaster you rode in 2019 was? Flying Dinosaur 24. What is the saddest/dirtiest credit whore thing you've ever done? Really digging deep for this since I don't give a shit about credits. It's probably riding this coaster at this pizza/Dave n Busters type of place on the Texas trip in 2009. Yo. This 5ft tall lamer-than-WakyWorm was in the middle of the floor and we all were in the spotlight. 25. Last time you bought fast pass? Nagashima Spa Land 26. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2019? Haunted Mansion/Night Before Christmas layover at Tokyo Disney. I think it was about an hour? 27. What season passes/membership do you currently have? Cedar Fair plat 28. If you could go to a park with anyone on this forum for a day who would it be and to what park? Alex Pope because we're best friends, but I want a whole Japan reunion with bert and Allison and Jon and Robb and Elissa and Joey and everyone! 29. Battle of the Busch 2020: Iron Gwazi or Pantheon - which would you rather ride? Pantheon. Look Gwazi will be incredible, but after riding a ton of RMC's you kiiiiinda know what to expect. A lot more question marks with Pantheon. I could totally see Gwazi still being the better coaster but....we'll see! 30. Most times you've ridden one coaster (rough estimate or exact if you're a super nerd) Diamondback, because I operated it in 2009. Woof I think I had over 1,500 rides that year. Thinking: rode at least 3x a shift, working there 25 days of the month over 6 months. I've got some fun Diamondback stories. 31. Congrats! You just won passes to spend A WEEK at the park of your choice! Dorney Park or Valley Fair? Pick one and why. Valleyfair! Because Excalibur is amazing and there's the greatest burger in the world in Minneapolis. 32. Talk about a park food that knocked your socks off Everything at Tokyo Disney - buns, popcorn, shrimp and chicken, Magellan's, and so much more. 33. Pick one: Kumba or Montu Kumba 34. What are your three least favorite woodies? Zeus, Zeus, Zeus 35. Best sweet snack at a park (degree of difficulty: not Dollywoods cinnamon bread) Blue Ice Cream 36. Kings Island is on the phone and they want you to decide what is going in the old Vortex spot. What do you add? We're going to get rid of Stunt Coaster too so we can merge the two areas to build a coaster that 1) has a fun simple theme 2) goes upside down. Let's get together an Intamin hydrolic launched coaster that's like Storm Runner but bigger and longer 37. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2020 ride) El Toro 38. Name 3 parks you want to visit in the next 3 years. Great Adventure, Silver Dollar City, and Tokyo DisneySea 39. Name 3 other forum members you hope fill this out. John Tanaka! Allison! Jon L! 40. Show us how cool you are by posting a picture of yourself on a coaster or in front of coaster. Bonus points if you're holding a sign with a number on it like the nerd you are. Here I am helping clean up Hakugei after we got down poured on. Thanks photosharktums! Okay can I ride now? Gotta make those new trains shine
  3. Can't wait to hear about people skipping the Almond Joy train because they hate coconut, haha.
  4. Shellraiser/Takabisha is an excellent star attraction because when that coaster is combined with low wait times, I think I'd finally be able to take in the details of the layout after 10-12 rides, haha. You're never going to be able to marathon Takabisha, and it's such a wild/fast paced coaster it's tough to figure out the ride while you're going through it. I'd love to visit this place on a slow day when Sandy's coaster is open!
  5. Has anyone been in January or see a ride closures/winter closures pictures similar to the SFOT thread? Thinking about visiting President's Day weekend, but not interested if iRat or WW is closed.
  6. Thanks for posting that list of closed rides! I'm tempted to go over President's Day weekend, so hopefully they'll be looking their winter best that holiday weekend.
  7. It's a pretty excellent day to check out the webcam! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/explore/live-video The big airtime hill is going up. Probably along the lines of Mako's or Leviathan's (although with a slight turn/bank) little hills, which are probably my favorite portions on both rides. I was kind of hoping when I heard KI was getting a giga that it would be loaded with a few of those low, high speed airtime hills. Happy to see Hershey's get a small bump, too. I haven't gotten on either of those yet, but yeah I'm all for the high speed hills!
  8. That probably means that all of Knott's launched coasters will be down for me, again Thanks!
  9. I'm very tempted to make a trip out over President's Day weekend (Feb 20th), but nervous about rides down for rehab during that time. Haunted Mansion is down, and I'm reading how about Splash usually goes down during that time. Apparently Indy is going to have a big refurb in 2020? Or did it just open up? I'm hoping someone can shed some light on Splash and Indy. Thanks!
  10. I'm still upset we weren't able to play Space Team Probably was because every single person was on the wifi at once. It's never a good thing to have a typhoon as part of your trip, but it ended up being not so bad thanks to attention/planning/caring from Robb and Elissa. Being able to do laundry for that day saved me for the rest of the trip and I'm glad we were able to go outside ..and remaining dry! We did all the right things to prep for a natural disaster day and we were ready had it been worse. In the end we just had a fun, productive, laugh filled day!
  11. The turnaround on Orion is 204ft! Going right down into that long speed hill. I'm hoping it's like Titan or Goliath in that it's a solid 2-3 second 0G float.
  12. CN Hotel opens today! Looks pretty cool. https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/berks/first-ever-cartoon-network-hotel-opens-near-lancaster/article_f58fab8a-3361-11ea-9e7f-3fd616707d4f.html#tncms-source=article-nav-prev
  13. Speed hill is done, now the big airtime hill is going up.
  14. Not that guy, I'm pretty sure now that it was a lemon costume, because the girls we were talking to had a hard time saying 'lemon' in English So many fun memories from the trip!
  15. I think one of my favorite memories from the entire trip was in the line for Space Fantasy, taking in all of the costumes around us, and we see the some weird costume - it was either the Corn Cob guy or the Giant Lemon guy. We pretty much played charades and both did our best with broken English and Japanese with this Japanese group behind us to figure out what the costume was, haha. It was either the word 'Lemon' or 'Corn' that the group couldn't pronounce in English, but eventually we got it right and were all laughing hysterically. Do you remember if it was the lemon or corn costume? Either way the guy was too far away to get a picture so it was just a great moment that happened.
  16. I've used Uber to Carowinds a few times, it's really easy they let the driver bring you all the way up to the entrance. Same with pick up. I wouldn't pay that much for that hotel. I'll recco Comfort Inn At The Park. I plugged in your dates and it only costs $185.
  17. 100%: Kings Island Busch Gardens Tampa 90%, gotta figure the priorities: Busch Gardens Williamsburg Knott's Disneyland Universal Orlando SeaWorld Orlando Worlds of Fun Silver Dollar City Carowinds Cali's Great America Cedar Point Oak's Park 50% Hersheypark New Mall of America SF Great Adventure Kentucky Kingdom Kennywood I want to get to WDW so bad but it makes sense to save it for 2021.
  18. Gif of the week! Or was this an Impractical Jokers stunt all along?
  19. Mystic Timbers 2019 WORLD PREMIERE!
  20. Damn that's a great looking video. I'd love to visit this year but HP is a tough park to get to without a car. What, the best case would be fly into Philly and then it's about a 2.5 hour drive to the park?
  21. So what I'm getting here is that jschmitty is upset Gwazi doesn't have a launch, custom-enough-layout, and has a dislike for crocodiles. Coaster nerds make up a small part of the revenue. Our opinions mean next to nothing. Was this supposed to be your attempt at a coaster meme review?
  22. I've been on more than I realized. I have them broken down into 3 tiers: Outlaw Run* / Steel Vengeance / Hakugei *I haven't been on Outlaw Run in 5ish years now, I really need to check it out again. Twisted Cyclone / Storm Chaser / Twisted Timbers Goliath
