  1. A mini TR for you all. Got to come in 2 hours before my shift yesterday and ride some rides. For my first ride on 'Invertigo' for this season. Wow, still one of my favorite rides at KI. The front seat is just an awesome intense ride! Can't wait to get on Batman Friday! Next I headed over to 'Drop Tower' and got three consecutive rides. Mmm...my favorite part of Kings Island. Love that drop! It's great that it's spinning on the way up again..7 more rides later for a total of 10. Safe to say I'm addicted? I think so. Went over to Son of Beast next. I've been really strict on getting the front seat to be safe. Well, I couldn't help but wonder how the back was. Previously, it wasn't much different...and even had some airtime to offer. So I skipped my little front seat 'safe zone' and headed for the back. All in all about a 20 minute wait. Heading up to the lift, very shaky. The drop was pretty good, a little bit of airtime. The helix was veryyy shaky, and the CBR has been on pretty hard this year, at least to what I think. The drop down to the second helix was pretty good, kinda unique. Second helix has always been fine, IMO. Up and around then swooping down gave a small pop, then head up into the brake run and then pulling around into the station. I'm going to have to go with the front seat for this ride. I don't think it's rough, and the ride never seems to bother me. I have fun on pretty much every coaster ride. I just love coasters! I totally get why people say it's boring, but hey..it's still a fun coaster in my opinion. It's got a nice big drop, and doesn't let up on the speed and lateral g's. I'll ride this pretty much every park visit, but I'm sticking to the front...don't see any reason to change now. Oh, on the way down the tower on Drop Tower, I felt a really sharp sting before we hit the brakes. Well, I looked around and got out of my seat and found a quarter. I had a nice welt on my neck for the rest of the day. Thanks jackass! Listen to the laws and rules of both the STATE and PARK people! I know the coin trick is tempting, but seriously...go watch the video with the guy making the banana float on Goliath and Superman at SFMM! -J 'Getting ready for Acrophobia on Friday!!' Z Oh, and I kept the quarter.
  2. Just found out I think it's going to be the future site of a Mini Golf course for the Great Wolf Lodge. I can't find the article, but I found it on KIC. -JZ
  3. Oh yeah, massive clearing back by SoB's fist big helix; aka the boneyard. Don't see anything going on right now, just about 2 or 3 acres cleared.
  4. I still like SoB and have definitely ridden some worse coasters, wooden and steel. The Racer is repetitive, going up and down and I like it, but something I've seen different this year is consistently a 20-40 minute wait for SoB. It's got speed and height. I like that.
  5. well besides no pictures, I noted that Italian Job now has new black restraints, unlike last year's orange ones. Oh....Drop Zone is....SPINNING again! Last year or some time before that, the motor that makes the ride rotate was broken. Well now it's fixed! Drop Zone offers 360* park views again!
  6. If they put it anywhere else on the circuit, they'd have just gotten a bunch of pictures of people wincing in pain. Eh, it's still a mildly tolerable ride. There's just so many precautions and rules you need to follow to have an enjoyable ride. For the first time I came off it with a head ache on Saturday. -Don't lean back -Hang on to handle infront -Be able to take a shaking It's still a better ride than it's ever been...but I like it because of the speed. Hopefully I'll be able to venture away from that to something smoother next year...
  7. I'll be going to the park tomorrow around 1:15 to 6 or 7, I'll be sure to take some pics! On a side note, Son of Beast's onride photo as been moved from before the lift hill to where the loop was taken out. Finally! -J "Who puts a camera before the lift?!" Z
  8. WALL-E because it's one of those 'original' Pixar productions. This is a no-brainer. Though I'd still probably see Kung Fu Panda before Wall-E. Jack Black is awesome. -JZ
  9. I have... -The Kentucky Rumbler "Got Wood?" shirt -Cedar Point shirt showcasing all rides -Two Universal Hollywood shirts I really only wear my TPR shirt and the Rumbler shirt on the occasion. I can't find the CP shirt, and the Universal shirts are....somewhere...
  10. Dude, I'm with you. I haven't had a bad ride on Mantis yet! It's one of my favorite rides in the park as well, and the front row has some really nice forces! Mmm...Maverick, front seat...that's pretty freakin' awesome. I'm not sure wether I would choose the front or the back. The back has extreme insane airtime moments that feel more powerful than the front, but the front has awesome views! They both have different times where the airtime is stronger here in the front, weaker here in the back....stronger here in the front, weaker in the back here. I can't decide! Awesome report, some really cool photos, looks like you saturated and messed with the colors on some...they turned out great! -JZ
  11. Yeah, I loved Movie World! It's a bummer that Superman was down while I went, but Scooby Doo was running all day with short lines. I must have had 15 rides on it! Without a doubt one of my most favorite rides of all time! Dreamworld was still good because it was new, and it has....Giant Drop. I loved both parks, but would choose Movie World in a heartbeat! -JZ
  12. Wow, Steel Force looks really good! I totally forgot about that ride being at the park. I love Magnum, so I hope to check that out some day! -J "Pain doesn't bother me" Z
  13. JZ's Top Flumes! 1. Wild Wild West - Movie World Australia 2. Splash Mountain - WDW 3. Canton's Keelboat Canal - KI (defunct and sp) 4. Cedar Point's Flume 5. Wild Thornberry's River Adventure - Carowinds 6. Wild Thornberry's River Adventure - KI It was a close call for #1, but I haven't been on Splash Mtn since 2002. WWW was awesome! It has backwards ejector air!
  14. Here's some photos from the Knieval stunt. And the crowd loves Robbie. Later in the news it stated he had some back problems. He made it! It looks like.... He's up, is he going to make it? Coke Zero trucks....on FIRE! He's off and headed for the trucks! Ever seen BOTH decks open before? Neither have I. The crowds are here! Characters from the old KI era were there today. I saw some Hanna Barbara benches around there. The Hustler? The event set up Lines are forming already! News has spread about KI's new coaster
  15. Wow, Jamin takes photos! Awesome stuff!
  16. Better coverage. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43736&start=50
  17. Awesome! I'd always wanted to get on one of these, and I'mglad I'll be able to get on it next spring! I can't wait! -JZ
  18. There's this part on Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster where you're backwards. Yeah, and you don't even know you're going backwards until you come backwards out of the elevator into this drop! There's also this drop that just comes out of noooo where. Awesome airtime! -J "I love Scooby!" Z
  19. That's probably right. The hours were really cut a year or two ago. Lines shouldn't be terrible.. especially if you don't have to wait in them No one will be in school, the last of the schools let out today. Yeah. On Goliath you merge in the station, same for Superman. On Batman and Scream Machine they have set rows - back for Batman, in the middle for GASM. Mind Bender and Scorcher both merge at the back of the station, minimizing your walk to the best seats Awesome help! I'm hoping the lines will be alright, and I'm going to get my flashpass online so I won't have to deal with things inside the park. Good news on the Q-Bot lines, I'm hoping to get a front and back seat on Goliath! And my friend stresses the importance of a front seat on Batman, I'm really looking foreword to this B&M Invert! -JZ Oh, and we'll see what my Nikon D-40 can do
  20. Unfortunately, it was too late for snoodog
  21. Hm, it's only about 1.5 hours away....I'll have to stop by sometime!
  22. Wow, X has seriously changed! I really can not wait to ride this next spring! Hmm...I'm a fan of a Arrow, and Metallica is my favorite band...and fire is awesome! Sounds like an awesome roller coaster supreme pizza! -JZ
  23. Okay, it's official. I'm going June 6th from around 1-2PM to 8PM. The park's site says it closes at 8PM, but it's a summer friday night. Can anyone else confirm it closes at 8? How long can I expect lines to be? Will kids still be in school? I'm planning on getting a Q-Bot. When I come up to the ride's station after waiting with my Q-Bot, will I be able to choose where I sit? If I'm going to wait for a ride like Goliath, I'd like to get a back or front seat; rather than being stuck a middle seat of the middle of the train. Thanks in advanced for the replies. -JZ
